  1. I think the number for emissions, for the 6.7L, is more in the ballpark of $1500.
  2. The V363 is the FoE vehicle, sometimes people call it V363E, and the N just means it is the North American version. Example C346 = Focus C346N = North American C346E = FoE C346A = APA etc
  3. I agree on the supply base. Often the general public and even the internal Ford engineers wants to blame the workforce for quality issues. Granted you will always have a small percentage, both hourly and salary, that just don't care and create minor issues. But from my experience when you analyze the issue without being emotional invested and jumping to conclusions the vast majority of the time it is some kind of process issue. I am not disagreeing with anything you are saying, just trying to clarify what I meant.
  4. All new vehicle, new plant, new equipment, new workforce, capacity increase for suppliers, etc makes for the most difficult launch. It is due to system interactions, not a single element. That does not mean the Fusion will suffer in quality, just that it makes for a more difficult launch.
  5. I would definitely say the MKZ is showing where Lincoln is headed. You will be able to see for yourself soon enough. I was shocked (in a good way) when I saw it, looks nothing like the new Fusion.
  6. This is true. Just my opinion, it doesn't make sense to have the 5.8L, 5.0, 5.4 (granted it is phasing out), 6.2, and the 3.5 GTDI. The 6.2L seems like the odd duck in the equation.
  7. Remember what the contract stated about Cleveland - The plant is awarded a new flexible small displacement engine assembly line.
  8. The Fusion will be all 4 cylinders by choice not design limitations. MKZ, Fusion, and Mondeo will share the same platform and eventually all C/D cars will as well . Remember Ford is consolidating platforms not adding new ones. Ford and Lincoln will not share any of the same top hats. The days of slapping on a different front and rear fascia are over. The 2103 Mustang will surprise people, the Camaro war is definitely helping to push Ford. GT500 think of a Pagani Zonda F (not styling wise). The Fusion blows away every car in the segment, remember Ford predicts a 50% increase in sales because of the new design and features. Ford is not resting on its laurels; the product cadence does not slow. Fresh cars sell.
  9. The majority of the $50 million is for the 5.0L expansion program. 6.2L lives on in F150....no 5.8L.
  10. It is a bummer for OHAP to not get the Transit job. The Transit just has too many components (similar axles, engines, the same transmission, etc) that are shared with the F150 that it makes more sense to build it at Kansas City.
  11. That is the real grill. The MKS and MTK will have the same grill while the upcoming MKZ has a smaller and wider grill. Unfortunately the rear of the MTK is left untouched. I agree the MKT is one of the worst looking vehicles. The MTK will be around for a while as a livery vehicle. At this time it is the only vehicle intended for the livery side of things.
  12. It is close....but the production vehicle looks even more sinister and the greenhouse flows better.
  13. The new full size transit will share some of the components (axles, etc) with the F150 so my guess is it would go KCAP. Could be wrong, but that seems the logical way to go.
  14. Borg is spot on. Same basic grill with smaller gaps and a slightly different shape. I personally think it makes the cars look cheaper. Again, just my opinion. The Lincoln transformation starts with the MKZ. If all of the new Lincolns are as gorgeous as the MKZ the brand stands a chance.
  15. The China market is forecasted to grow (depending on who is forecasting) anywhere from 25 to 30 million units annually. We are currently on a roughly 12 million pace this year in North America. Do the math and you will see Ford needs factories in China to meet the demand. To build and ship hundreds of thousands of vehicles a year to China is not feasible. The majority of the capacity Ford is putting into China is meant for the China market or surrounding APA countries.
  16. I have seen the MKS, MKT, and the new MKZ. The waterfall grill is still there, just more subtle and shaped slightly different. I personally do not like the grill on the upcoming MKS and MKT. It looks too much like a Pontiac grill. The new MKZ is a knockout. Hopefully I am in the minority and everyone else likes the new grill.
  17. 2015MY Next Generation Mustang will have a V8 plus possible an engine from each family. V8's will be for trucks and the mustang. No need to worry....no matter what engine is in it there will be at least 300 HP.

  19. Only things I could find. May be more in there...592 pages is a lot to scan through! Page 39 of GM tentative contract Time and One Half (85) For time compensated in excess of forty hours in the employees working week, less all time for which holiday overtime has been earned Page 41 Exceptions to Above Overtime Payment (87) Employee working in necessary continuous seven-day operations whose occupations involve working Saturdays and Sundays shall be paid time and one-half for work on these days only for compensated hours in excess of forty hours in the employee's working week, except as otherwise provided in paragraph (1) below [see Par.
