  1. We recently took our MKZ hybrid on a 1,200 mile round trip that included much West VA mountain travel. The car had 250 miles on it at the start and we averaged 44.8 for the trip. Break-in period? I experienced the same with my '13 FFH. Picked up the car w/25 miles on it and took a round trip of 305 miles. Got 45.4 on the way and a very respectful 43 MPG on the way back (I-95/495). Break-in? Doesn't seem to have an effect. My wife is the daily driver of the MKZ and she consistently gets over 45 MPG back and forth to work.
  2. From http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130614/AUTO0102/306140029/1148/auto01/Ford-s-hot-selling-Fusion-struggles-meet-demand Ford is struggling to maintain normal inventory levels of the Fusion, particularly on the East and West coasts, regions where Ford sales have historically lagged. Where I bought my hybrids the dealer currently, as of last night, has 5 Fusions and none are hybrids. They have 22 MKZs of which none are hybrids. They are a bit hard to get in the Philly area and dealers are refusing dealer trades. It's going to get worse before it gets better. The plant in Mexico is now running 3 shifts and at full capacity. It will be a couple of months before Flat Rock Fusions are up and running. The Fusion and MKZ hybrid production will remain in Mexico.
  3. It's true. I called on the MKZ and asked about the car (they didn't know who I was) they said the car had just been sold. This was a couple of weeks after I took delivery. The salesman said for me to come on down and take a look as "we have MKZs just like that car." Of course I knew they didn't.
  4. You will find vehicles on the dealer websites that are customer ordered cars. They do this to drive traffic to their lots. Both my FFH and MKZ were ordered by me, but appeared on the dealer's website for sale for some time after I took delivery. Make sure you call to confirm the car is there before you go.
  5. Am I the only one that would like to see an easier to read and ACCURATE owner's manual? The one for the MKZ isn't any better than the for the FFH is.
  6. I get mine washed twice a week - no issues.
  7. Or someone was sitting surveillance. Whenever there was a car lot available where I was sitting surveillance I would just pull in and sit between the cars for sale were. Worked like a charm.
  8. I had the "Fusion" letters replaced on my trunk lid. They fell off. I also had the Snap-Crackle-Pop noise fixed. So far-so good.
  9. My dealer advised me this AM that if my car had the issue they would replace the part and then replace it again when the new part came out. They had two so far. One where you could smell the gas fumes and one that was leaking gas. So far, no issue with mine. They did replace one of my keys this AM, replaced the missing "F" on my trunk lid and did the fix for my snap-crackle-pop noise.
  10. I had the same thing the other day in the MKZ...really hot day. And I have experienced the same thing on my '13 FFH. It's the battery cooling.
  11. My FFH is affected. No notice yet on my '13 MKZ hybrid.
  12. I'm on my third battery in my '13 FFH. The 3rd one started with the BS warning and they did the TSB and the problem stopped. If your car has been in for service check the paperwork. If they did the TSB it will be on the invoice. So far with my '13 MKZ hybrid, no issues.
  13. My fully equipped '13 FFH took eight weeks. I just took delivery of a MKZ hybrid that took 5 weeks.
  14. I got a flyer in the mail today from my dealer. It was for "The "Works and the price is $20.00.
  15. I haven't found any paint flaws in my RR MKZ.
  16. You can get a wiper replacement for a period of time after you take delivery of your car. Mine were replaced within a month as they squeaked loudly. No issue since. I would save the coupons for down the road and get the broken ones replaced by the dealer. They have a discretionary fund for this.
  17. The only thing ETIS is good for is the build date. The system is not meant for consumers to track cars.
  18. I filled up yesterday with 20 miles DTE and put in 13.1 gallons (four clicks). So much for reserve.
  19. I used the destination/POI function twice this AM and everything worked fine. I have the 3.5.1.
  20. I've bought a couple of cars that had salvage titles. One is a '62 Ford Galaxy with a 406 motor and the other was a 65 Corvette with the fuel injected motor. Both were excellent purchases and turned out well. I still have the Galaxy.
