  1. I paid about the same as you did for a pair of these liners for our Buick LaCrosse. They were installed longer than yours, but they ended up in the trash in the end. They wouldn't lie flat and wouldn't stay in place. Our carpet ended up getting badly soiled in spite of the huge amount of money we spent. I think that custom-fitted all-weather mats by Weather Tec might be a better product.
  2. I've tried to include JPG images inline and I'm informed that they aren't legal. I am allowed to attach them but not to include them as images in my posts. I do not find any information anywhere on just what photos actually may be included inline. Where is all this explained?
  3. Malibu, You may change my status to DELIVERED as of April 24th, 2013.
  4. My car arrived at the dealer in Columbus, OH, last evening, April 24th, just two days after rolling into the Detroit area by rail. That's very rapid distribution, and way ahead of the FMC ETA. I'll pick it up this afternoon and post pictures here ASAP. THANKS for making the wait so much easier.
  5. Is the Focus using the new lithium ion battery like the C-Max and Fusion?
  6. The Toyota Solara is a Camry coupe, isn't it?
  7. Malibu, Noticed the "Order #2" in your sig. Did you cancel and order and start over??
  8. May I please have an update on VIN 3FA6P0RU7DR281981 ? Thanks
  9. I'd certainly stick to the law, but just because you can't legally add tint to the windshield doesn't mean you can't add it to the sides and rear. You basically want to keep out light that makes the interior hot and stresses the AC, so putting it in those places may help a lot, especially on the large rear window. There's a beautiful summary of the laws for each state here.
  10. I always buy the oil at Walmart, like Wacevedo, and then take it to a mechanic I trust. My sort of "old school", too, but my compromise is buying the Mobil 1 extended mileage synthetic which is even more durable than Mobil 1's original full synthetic. They guarantee it for 15K or one year, Using that product, I then follow the oil monitor, and I've been going about a year between changes. Note that the aftermarket oil-filter manufacturers have started producing filters that are supposedly OK to leave in place for 10K or one year. I guess that they did in response to Mobil 1's extended-mileage product and in response to the newer oil monitors that are allowing owners to go a year between changes. I'm not sure if Motorcraft has such a part or not, but if I were going to change per the recommendations of the car's monitor, I'd be sure not to use a "standard" oil filter.
  11. I had a manual on my '65 Mustang. That's right, the original. I never had another manual and never missed the damned things for a second. I just cannot understand the allure, especially when modern automatic trannies get the same mileage. But if you see your youth slipping away with babies on the horizon, by all means get the manual. It'll be a quarter of a century before you get another chance, and who knows? By that time, they may be available only in Yugos and motorcycles.
  12. I've posted this request elsewhere, but if this is the proper thread to use, I'll post again. All the info is as listed in my sig, except that cyberdman gave me an ETA of 5/1 Thanks for the work on the spreadsheet. Ron
  13. Well, DLRs are implemented on 2013 Fusions built for fleet sales, and they're mentioned in the FFH manual ("if equipped"). They're either implemented through firmware, OR there's extra hardware in the fleet cars. Either way, it would seem that it should be possible, even easy, to get them working on ours. This is not a trivial point. I cannot quote his source, but a Toyota salesman on YouTube stated that cars with DLRs have an 11% lower rate of accident involvement.
  14. Thanks a million. I'm a grown man so I was determined not to obsess over this automobile. I meant well, but I failed. Miserably. In reality, I anticipate its arrival more than anything since my Red Ryder Range Model Carbine Action 200-shot Air Rifle, but this time, no one's telling me "You'll shoot your eye out, kid." That's why these updates, that you so generously produce, elicit such effusive thanks from some of us. Very much appreciated. My Hy Ti actually exists . . . and it's somewhere in the USA! Wow!
  15. Hi, FordEtis shows that my car was built April 9th after a fairly long commodity hold. I never did receive word on a scheduled build week. The date on Etis merely changed abruptly from the placeholder of 30/11/0002 to 09/04/2013, so I'm not positive what's going on. Are you able to give me a status report, please? VIN: 3FA6P0RU7DR281981 Thanks
  16. My Ruby Red was built April 9th. I wonder when the very first one came down the line. Does anyone have any info or guesses on that date AND how long this commodity hold for red paint was in effect before it was lifted?
  17. A few months ago there were some posts on one of the Fusion forums about activating DLRs via software or firmware updates that some dealers seemed to have knowledge of. Does anyone on this forum have any updated information about that?
  18. After waiting more than 3 months for an invoice date/window sticker, FordEtis told me this morning that my Hybrid Titanium was built yesterday, April 9th. Fairly obviously, Hermosillo recieved at least some Ruby Red paint. I've gathered from this and other forums that cars arrive at the dealer 2-3 weeks after manufacture. If my luck holds, this tiring ordeal may be wrapped up 4 months after placing my order. I'd like to send this info to Malibu for the spreadsheet, but, alas, I haven't sufficient posts to be allowed to message him. Perhaps he'll see this post and pick up the data from my sig.
  19. Hey, thanks. 10 days sounds a lot better than "several weeks."
  20. Hmmm . . . I can't find either spare wheels or spare tires for Fusion Hybrids at motorcraft.com. That's rather astonishing. What is one to do if the spare on an ICE Fusion blows out? Go to a junk yard? (Can't find a thing at Tire Rack, either.)
  21. Cyberdman says that shipment by rail takes "several weeks." Could those of you who have somehow tracked shipments the whole way, please comment on the amount of time your vehicle spent on the railroad?
  22. I don't care much about exhaust tips on my HyTi, but I DO hate that MFT excludes the Sync Apps that provide functions available on almost every model of car sold in the US this year. What a travesty that a feature regarded as an upgrade kills functions available on most competitors' vehicles since 2010. IF Ford ever figures out a way to allow the Pandora, Open Table, etc. apps on cars with MFT, would current MFT systems supposedly be upgradeable via firmware?
  23. Some very incompetent person at Ford botched the links. For many months after Hybrids started shipping, there was NO information regarding manuals, Sync guides, warranty documents, Quick-Start pamphlets, etc. When they finally did get around to posting links for those PDFs, they were correct. Since then someone screwed that site up horribly, as the Hybrid manual link now connects to the regular ICE Fusion manual, and the link for the Quick Start connects to the one for the Energi. How people can make mistakes like that is a mystery to me. It gives me pause about buying a vehicle from a company that employs morons like that. By the way, the Hybrid manual was available at motorcraftservice.com long before it was ever to be found on the Ford owners' site -- another example of Ford employing twits who couldn't be bothered to leave a day-long coffee break for a few months. I know I sound critical, but if I was as remiss at my job as the guys responsible for the owner.ford.com Web site, I'd be fired immediately.
  24. It is hard to wait, especially considering the olden days when you could place a specific order and have it in two weeks. However, the three months you've waited so far is not bad for the car you're buying. For example, I put down a deposit on a Hybrid SE on June 12th, 2012. By early December, I had NOTHING, not a VIN, not a build date, and with the rumors about shabby builts at Hermosillo, I canceled that order after SIX months. I reordered a HyTi in late December, and my invoice date (and window-sticker date) was April 2. Don't change your order. At this point, I think it's more likely to delay delivery than hasten it. <old Jedi mind trick - on> "You CAN wait another 6 weeks. Six weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things." <old Jedi mind trick - off>
  25. Might you elaborate on that last bit of advice, please? When my Fusion Hybrid arrives, if it ever does, will I have to take 3 minutes to accelerate from a stop to 60? Is there any way to explain how close to normal driving you can come without "killing" economy? Thanks.
