  1. My mom is dead. But thanks for adding to the discussion. And a special thanks to the 'moderator' for encouraging this type of behavior.
  2. That perception is very unfortunate. It's also unfortunate that rather than pull someone aside and PM them and discuss the 'issue' in private, this some on this board feel it necessary to take it personally and lash out by making personal attacks, etc. So far, not a single conversation has occurred in private from members or a specific moderator as to what the perceived issues are. Like I have said before, my door is always open. It's very passive aggressive to set expectations for someone, not tell them what they are, and then punish them when the expectations are not met. Or to chastise someone for exhibiting the same behavior as you (not you personally) display towards that person. If my posts (such as the one in the Promaster thread that started this entire mess) came across in any way as a 'put down', then I sincerely apologize. Now that we can drink to (but I don't drink lol). I will do my best. Cheers.
  3. I appreciate your honesty, but do not understand what offended you in my previous post. I'm asking you for your cooperation in engaging in adult discussions and leaving the personal feelings and personal attacks at the door. I realize that some here are incapable of that, but it really isn't witty and doesn't further the conversation. I believe that adults can agree and disagree but at the same time being civil about it. However, every single time someone has disagreed with me, it is immediately made personal and people act in a very uncivil manner towards me.
  4. Because in the buyers mind, that little 'Eco' badge means they are saving polar bears and are easily influenced by marketing.
  5. YOU "picked this fight" with me because I said that it's just semantics that Ford doesn't call their police vehicles Taurus and Explorer.....which has been proven time and time again to be true. I NEVER denied that there are some changes made (other than a debadging of 6 or 8 letters) to the vehicles. However I'm not gullible enough to believe that by calling them something other than what they are they magically become other vehicles. Again, it's all semantics. And please stop "picking fights" with me. I am all for an open, spirited, honest, and respectful debate. But picking fights with people an name calling isn't very nice and I'm sure a violation.
  6. Yep and they are far less complicated and cheaper too. In the labs they may perform, but real world they are a great disappointment in the fuel economy realm. They certainly do not live up to the hype. Who would have thought that adding more air into the engine would require adding more fuel.
  7. Well look at that. Funny, I said that a while ago a person started to "pick a fight" with me and another said I was as dumb as a box of rocks for that assertion. Nice to see that my assessment was EXACTLY spot on.
  8. Do you think it will be different than the Escape options?
  9. I get between 17mpg and 20mpg in my Ram. 20mpg when I work my long weekend at work and that's all the driving I do.
  10. Yeah, you can't defend that. Sadly, it's pretty common too, but then it's not surprising in the least.
  11. That's what remains to be seen. Hope the intercooler doesn't have an issue...
  12. Ah New York. The California of the east coast. Here is an idea, let cabbies drive what they want and do something that the people actually care about.
  13. It's all advertising. I'm guessing NASCAR has a bigger audience than the NHRA.
  14. Fully agree. There has to be some advantage to these pint-sized engines other than being more complicated and lagging in performance. And it looks as if fuel economy isn't it.
  15. And these are the people that, rather than fix the behavior, some prefer to have the vehicle cater to them. Again, if you can't park your vehicle, you should not be allowed anywhere near a vehicle.
  16. Sometimes though it can look cheap...some manufactures have what looks to be integrated exhaust, and then you look close and it's just an unfinished pipe that is a few inches shorter to hide it.
  17. Yep, exactly what I said on October 12th. Funny how stuff like that keeps happening.
  18. Who said that? I certainly did not even imply that. It's a stupid and dangerous idea no matter what manufacturer has it. A computer should not be able to take over the steering wheel/brake and gas pedal. Who said that? I certainly did not even imply that.
  19. Let's hope he can keep this up when he is forced to drive a Taurus.
  20. My God...if Ford said the earth was flat you would believe them. It's so sad that you will just swallow the corporate line and not think for yourself. The fact is, the Taurus PI and Explorer PI are vastly unchanged from the civilian Taurus and Explorer. Very little is changed to make them into the Taurus PI and Explorer PI. I'm not fooled into thinking that by Ford not making the front doors open all the way, some changed trim pieces and some minor mechanical changes they have created an entire different vehicle. In fact, I will bet you dollars to doughnuts (pun intended) that the costs of making the front doors not open fully and those changed trim pieces were included in the development of the Explorer and Taurus.
