POTW! That had me rolling. -
MKC gets new 2.3 Ecoboost engine option.
EBFlex replied to jpd80's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
An optional engine that gives you 30 more torques, a tailgate that people are making a big deal over for some reason, and a phone app. Good luck Lincoln. You certainly need it. -
The facts are (and you know how much some are bothered by the use of facts) But GM has "stuck" with the small block because they have had no reason to change. The modern Ford V8s are and were so uncompetitive they were laughable. There is a reason the mod V8s were nicknamed 'boat anchors'... Because that's what they did best. And now, those small block V8s get better mileage than a Ford V6. Ever since the modular family hit the market, GM has been lightyears ahead of Ford engines. The small block is sunrise reliable, cheap to make, very efficient, compact, cheap to repair (rare), etc. The only competition GMs engine family has had was from the 5.7 from Chrysler. And as good as the 5.7 is, the GM small block is a better engine.

There is a reason why people use GM small blocks. They're very reliable, they're very cheap, they're compact (unlike any modern Ford motor) and can make great power for very low cost (unlike any modern Ford engine). It's very simple really.

Obamacare-Because this needs it's own thread
EBFlex replied to FiredMotorCompany's topic in Lounge: Off Topic Discussion
Hopefully this gets approved by the censors. Heard this on a local radio station: It's amazing how inept Bam Bam and his administration. Not taking responsibility for Fast and Furious. Not taking responsibility for the IRS scandal. Not taking responsibility for Benghazi. And now, not taking responsibility for the complete disaster that BamBam care has become. And you have to be seriously deficient in the IQ department if you believe that his NON-APOLOGY was sincere. Not only was that NOT an apology, he didn't take responsibility for anything. He is a liar....but that's nothing new. And FWIW, I work at a damn hospital. My insurance went UP! -
About time they get some decent gauges in there. The current gauges are terrible. Horribly hard to read and the stupid, fat needle takes up a very large amount of space. gauges that bad should have never made it past the post-it note they were jotted down on in design meetings.

Front Drive Designs Almost Became the Mustang
EBFlex replied to ANTAUS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
As is typical of Ford's of that era, the transmission was the weak point. They were known for going out. -
Goodbye J Mays (and others)
EBFlex replied to mackinaw's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
And Escape, Focus, Flex, heck, even the Fusion is just a mess of many different design elements. Styling and design are certainly not Ford strong points. -

A moron that is a realist and isn't fooling themselves as to Lincoln's place in the market? -
Ford recalls ambulances because engines can stop
EBFlex replied to mettech's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
You're obviously one that will not let facts get in the way of your beliefs. "Climate change denier"? Is that what you call someone who simply looks at the facts and comes to the common sense conclusion that the entire 'global warming/climate change' hysteria is complete nonsense? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2485772/Global-warming-pause-20-years-Arctic-sea-ice-started-recover.html Don't let these 'inconvenient facts' get in the way of your inconvenient "truth". -
If A Ford SUV Sinks/ Can The Doors Open
EBFlex replied to bobbyd's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
God I hope not. I know people here are advocates for building cars for the lowest skilled drivers that shouldn't be on the road...but if you keep your vehicle out of the water, you should be fine. If not, a vehicle does not sink fast, you have time. Break a window, stay calm, and do what you have to do to survive. -
Ford recalls ambulances because engines can stop
EBFlex replied to mettech's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Leave it to our inept government and their disgusting diesel regulations. First off, most of the diesel regs need to go away ad they make no sense at all. Second, if they insist on continuing with such stupid regulations, maybe make emergency vehicles exempt from them so as stupid crap like this can be avoided. And way to go Ford. Way to stick it to your customers. That's how you run a good business. -
All because of this nations insanely ignorant diesel regulations. And vehicles like this should not have to comply with this garbage. All emergency vehicles should have a 'hippy-liberal government' override that will allow the vehicle to function without all of the garbage. http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-recalling-f-series-ambulances-over-stalling-engines.html

The Dodge Ram received an extensive update for 2013. -
Lincoln sales jump 30% in October, MKZ up 70%

Thank you. This is a non-story. It's advertising disguised as a press release. -

Great post and you are 110% correct an ALL points. It's embarrassing that even YEARS after it was introduced, customers are still being the beta testers. You'd think they would have learned their lesson. Glad to hear that uConnect is working as designed for you. The reviews I have read say that GM and more specifically Ford should look at uConnect and realize that a properly working system is indeed possible. -
This board is so insanely bi-polar and hypocritical. Weren't people complaining and whining earlier in the thread over the sample size and the Taurus SHO? Now, we're talking up the results on a vehicle who's sample size is maybe 6 total vehicles? Again, which is it? Either CR is a rag and the results are not to be trusted....OR...CR is a legit source of consumer information. Or is it only legit why they are praising a Ford product and not publishing the results of a survey actual customers of the vehicles responded to?

Pete D. Goes Off the Rails
EBFlex replied to RichardJensen's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
You're missing the point. The point isn't the number of results. The point is that using a simple google search as "proof" of something is nutty. It's not accurate. I could google 'earth is flat' and get thousands of results. That doesn't change the fact that he Earth is indeed round-ish. -
That's what a lot of people have a very hard time understanding. They are reporting results of a survey. Taken by actual customers. They are reporting what the customers are saying. Sheesh, it's not that difficult. Get upset at the reason the responses are coming back they way they are rather than at the company for simply publishing the results.

Chrysler's MyGig has been out since 2006. MyGig has evolved into the current form of uConnect since then. (I have added a myGig radio to my Ram and I could add the uConnect module to it for added functionality). And I HIGHLY doubt that MFT is available in any more vehicles than the MyGig/uConnect. MyGig and Uconnect are/were available in virtually every Chrysler from Wranglers to 200s to the vans to the trucks. -

EBFlex replied to RichardJensen's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Unreal. THAT is your proof? Funny though, when I googled "uconnect problem" I got about 175k results. When I googled "my ford touch problem", I got over 28 million. Funny how that works isn't it? -

EBFlex replied to RichardJensen's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
And yet...Chrysler's uConnect is almost universally praised. Here's an idea, don't let your customers beta test your fancy, convoluted system when they buy the product. Maybe do an ounce of testing prior to it hitting the showroom and you'll have better results. -
2014 Ford Fiesta ST and '13 Focus: Dyno Tested

What range do you expect? I think you're right, as 6.9 seems pretty slow for a car with that power to weight ratio. -

Fantastic post. You hit the nail on the head. It seems like more of a GM hate piece than anything. There is nothing wrong with GM advertising.
