the good news is that its sitting by a rail yard waiting on a train. The delay there isnt all that surprising, railroads in North America are a disaster right now.
Exactly my point. How is that not shallow?
Nope, more sales/brands equals more work for me. Even if Lincolns are a pain in the ass on the assembly line (they are), I would rather have them and build them than lose the work.
Perspective. There may still be decent demand for a three pedal manual in Australia but here in the land of the fat, Stupid and lazy not very many people want a three pedal manual. Even the Mustang sells more automatics anymore.
Its on the new CD6 platform and it's Explorer sized so it's not replacing anything in the current lineup. It's going to look very Land Rover-esque with the new look Lincoln front end.

What other V8 did they have available at the time that wasn't a Diesel?
Its not entirely fleet sales, there's been at least a 5k rebate on them for the last few months. You can get a reasonably loaded SE for about 13k right now.
Ford engineers didn't see much difference in efficiency in a 9 speed vs an 8 speed so for the sake of manufacturing cost and simplicity they changed it to an 8 speed.
