  1. they've been 2 shifts for the last 4 years or so. They just did rolling layoffs all summer and now just got rid of all of their temps. If that doesn't say they're losing a shift soon then I don't know what does. The company even admitted they wanted to cut second shift before the union convinced them to do rolling Layoffs for the summer.
  2. Lol CSX. That railroad has a LOT of problems right now. Good luck!
  3. Guaranteed that improves with the coming MCE and future generations.
  4. The standard is also a lot higher than for the Ford counterparts, as it rightfully should be for a luxury brand.
  5. Lincolns in general are more complicated to build than their Ford counterparts. I was at FRAP during the buildup to the Continental launch, the parts fit tighter, and there's more of them in relation to their Ford counterparts. Even though KTP already built the old Navigator, there's still going to be growing pains.
  6. FYI, signs are pointing to FRAP losing a shift in the not too distant future. Gonna be a lot of competition for not a lot of open jobs.
  7. That one has been pretty obvious for a while. If they're going to axe the second shift (and all signs are the company is desperate to), my guess is the earliest it will happen is March. I'm still not convinced they weren't lying when they said no jobs would be lost with the Ranger coming in.
  8. Anything built before ok to buy will be reinspected and, if needed, repaired before it is released for shipping. Keep in mind that FRAP is notorious for shipping delays. I personally blame Canadian National. Everything they do in Flat Rock Yard seems to be done at a snails pace.
  9. oh god they're bringing that back? Because that worked so well last time...
  10. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/general-motors/2017/11/02/uaw-training-center-investigation-expands-big-detroit-three/107251546/ Well then. Perhaps I'm not so wrong in not trusting the union from day one.
  11. I'll give you 5 cents and the pack of fruit stripe
  12. That would only work if it was Escape overflow. Escape demand is too high for that equation to be the only source of Escape production.
  13. that's still at least 50K with of available capacity at that plant, not counting MKZ production of course. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think capacity at HMO is around 400K
  14. I don't either but building the unibody TC alongside the BOF Ranger/Bronco poses problems I don't think Ford is going to account for when they retool the plant. I disagree. I don't think it will get back that high any time soon. That market has shrunk and I don't see it getting back to where it was 2-3 years ago any time soon. All a new top hat will do is stop the decline IMO.
  15. Plus with the decline of the midsize sedan market, there's now available capacity at Hermosillo, there's still capacity at KCAP1 with the Transit, there's still capacity at FRAP (always has been), Oakville and MAP. MAP can obviously be ruled out because of the upcoming Ranger and Bronco (which by all indications will still leave excess capacity). FRAP can probably be ruled out thanks to that mythical self driving electric SUV project and the fact that Ford still doesn't seem to realize what they have in that plant. That leaves Oakville, Hermosillo, KCAP 1 and Cuactitlan that all have some capacity available.
  16. just throwing darts here, but what if TC was the second one? Ecosport by itself won't be nearly enough volume for that plant's capacity.
  17. UP has it on a train in Nebraska In Transit Arrived at Intermediate Point (Union Pacific Railroad ) Nplawest, NE ETA November 11
  18. In Transit Received - J79 (Hansen And Adkins Auto Transport ) Ramp 32, Winston-salem, NC ETA November 6
