  1. I have a feeling they're taking the stance of just pushing units out the door and letting the dealers fix the problems. I have no evidence to back that claim up, it's just a gut feeling I have.
  2. Another thought, what is with the fascination with the Focus platform? It's really not any better than any other platform ford has
  3. That's a ridiculous thought. You mean to tell me you want to build an off road SUV on a compact car platform? Now that's hilarious. Shorten the platform and you wind up with the fiesta/Ecosport. There's no way that's happening.
  4. And they're doing it again. I can see the laser station from my work station and I only just started seeing them working within the last 2-3 weeks.
  5. Who are you to get this mythical email you speak of?
  6. Hermosillo is at capacity, that's why they started building Fusions at FRAP. Cuautitlan is not at capacity and there is some speculation of moving some Transit Connect production down there
  7. No, I wouldn't trust that dealer, but I also don't know of any dealer that rebuilds transmissions in house.
  8. But...but... Japanese cars are of vastly superior quality than American cars!
  9. FWIW, on my way to work I saw a focus TI sedan that someone had replaced the front bumper with an ST bumper and it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen.
  10. Oh I agree, but you missed my point. My point was the vehicle you described was the size of an explorer sport with bronco off road capability
  11. As I mentioned in your other thread, it's not a problem exclusive to Ford. Every manufacturer has these kinds of issues every now and then. If the repair guy really blew off your concerns like you claim, it sounds like you have a beef with that dealer, not Ford. Call around to some other dealers for a second opinion, see if they know of a fix, and remember, Ford dealers are franchises, Ford Motor Company doesn't have a hand in their day to day operations or how they conduct themselves with their customers. Your issue is with the dealer, not Ford itself in that regard.
  12. The problem with electrical gremlins is you never know when they are going to pop up, There's about a million and a half possible causes and they can be damn near impossible to replicate and diagnose (as you found out) Unfortunately, they do happen and its not a problem exclusive to one manufacturer. The problem is if they can't get the problem to replicate, how can they diagnose it? No shop in their right mind is going to start arbitrarily tearing apart someone's car hoping to luck their way into fixing a problem. It's not of case of not acknowledging the problem, is a case of they don't know what the problem is to acknowledge. As a Ford employee working on the line to build these cars, I apologize for the problems you are having. I'm sorry to tell you, that unless you can gaurentee the problem can be replicated, there is really nothing that can be done. The only piece of advice I can give you (I don't know squat about electrical systems) is to take it to another dealer for a second opinion, even call around first to see if any in your area have encountered this problem and been able to figure it out. That is probably going to be your best option.
  13. The term patent troll applies to people in this case mentioned in the article. They buy parents only for the reason to file a lawsuit even though they had nothing to do with the patent in the first place
  14. What about the NA market then? They can't let the current model flounder for another 2 years while the rest of the segment gets new or refreshed models.
  15. It's also not in the US My bad, I thought we were talking about OAC, not OHAP
  16. Meh. Not my thing but I can see why people would want one.
  17. Again, MAP is not going to be building it. Not now, not in 5 years.
  18. I don't see Transit Connect being built in the U.S. Without building a whole other plant. Once FRAP gets going with Taurus/MKS there's nowhere else for it to go. Don't say MAP, that's not happening, even though sales are slow now, gas prices are going to go up eventually and will help bolster sales
