  1. Pick ups are the profit machine so that’s understandable. You guys have churn en out!
  2. You’re absolutely right, that’s the way it’s gonna be for the foreseeable future.
  3. Looks like FOMOCO has all their safety protocols and guidelines in place for us to get back to work in some capacity.
  4. Up here in Oakville Canada, the word is May 25th. Rotating one shift. Like two weeks on two weeks off. That’s the rumor.
  5. Yes it is very sad, my condolences to those fellow workers who have died. Stay safe brothers. Ford has announced that there is no definitive date of return as a result of this tragedy
  6. We up here at Oakville Assembly Complex are down til April 20th at the earliest. Hearing that we may only be working days when we return. So many damn rumors. Our downtime was told to us by Unifor local 707 our local so I guess it’s fact. This Covid situation is just unreal!
  7. Yup it’s a contract year, we don’t have much leverage up here lol. Hope unifor can do something so we can get a decent contract. Hope things pick up by then. These are unforeseen circumstances
  8. I hope all this Covid crap can die down sooner than later. It’s an awful situation affecting many. Shutting down the plants was the right thing to do. I hope all of you stay safe. This is a bad year for this to happen in terms of being a contract year up here in Canada. I feel like we’re gonna get screwed over. No chance we get what you UAW guys get, not with all this uncertainty going on. Maybe I’m wrong. This covid situation is just unreal!
  9. You can send them up here to Oakville when we get a new product lol. I’m sure ford doesn’t want another explorer launch. The Bronco will have you guys working 10s! Two shifts
  10. Thanks Fuzzy, I hope MAP executes a far better launch than Chicago
  11. I’m sure December can’t come soon enough for you guys at MAP. I’m sure your launch will be a success. Ford can’t afford another bad launch. I’ve seen them here at Oakville in the past and the recent Chicago mess. They better get it right man.
  12. The Bronco looks awesome so far. Can’t wait to see the official introduction and additional variants. When is job one slated for at MAP???
  13. I would imagine crossovers are already part of their trucks and utilities analysis. I hope Ford presents some low cost offerings sooner than later. It’s needed in their line up. Being the puma here and finish off the eco sport as well. Puma looks way better.
  14. I read on Automotive news that 80 percent of the sales in the market will be light trucks and suvs so you’re right about the buying trends.
  15. Thanks guys, I want all our plants to do well and get investment regardless of location. Lots of pissed off people in here cause we lost our 3rd shifts in body and paint and 400 getting laid off. It’s the nature of the industry though these things happen. Plant isn’t closing or anything like GM Oshawa but it should be interesting later this year contract time. People in here also think we may get ford courier, I find that interesting
  16. I work at Oakville and I can’t help but be skeptical when it comes to ford giving us a substantial investment. I hope I’m wrong. We may get all new edge nautilus but I have little faith in the unifor union up here. We will get hammered at contract time. We don’t have 8 plants up here to fight ford for a good contract. St Thomas assembly plant and Ontario truck plant are long gone so we may just have to take what ford gets
  17. Congrats on the further investments added in addition to the ones that have already been started!! To those of you in here who work at those facilities!
  18. It seems like unemployment is just a hassle to deal with whether you’re in Michigan or Ontario. We have to call it in or do it online. It can be annoying and confusing. I don’t even know if we will have the option to come in and do anything. Parts shortage past few shifts. Low on tires and seats, we were doing 10s and some saturdays. Past two days in the main plants been like 6 hours per shift on avg. So who knows
  19. Thanks man, you enjoy your holidays as well. One week lay-off means one week without pay but the rest is needed.
  20. Ya we don’t make any pick ups in Oakville anymore. We stopped building heritage F-150 in June 2004.
  21. My info wasn’t needed lol. You’re asking about MAP specifically and US plants. My mistake.
  22. Up here in Oakville, Ontario OAC is down from Dec 20th to January 13th. 1 week lay-off the week of January 6th 2020. Midnight shift in bodybuild ends Friday December 20th. 2 shift operation throughout whole plant starts January 13th. 450 layoffs start Feb 3 2020
  23. Lol, who knows you might like a new Ranger. Or upgrade to an F-150!
