The current passport’s dimensions are within an inch of the big broncos. To me, this new one appears to be larger although that could just be an illusion due to its boxier shape. The early model Passports and Rodeos were some of my favorite SUVs back in the day. It’s good to see the passport looking a bit more rugged like it used to.

A similarly equipped escape is pretty close to that same price. Ford is also offering free home chargers with installation to sweeten the deal too.

I hate the dial shifter so glad to see that go. Hopefully other models will lose it too.

I have to say, if you are painting your grille body color, that is probably the best one to go with. It looks really good on yours. I’ve seen badlands grilles painted to match the body and it did not look great.

The Kia EV9 is about as boxy as you can get, but it has a drag coefficient of .28, which is a bit lower than the passenger car average of .3. The model Y and 3 are at .23 for reference. SUVs are usually in the .4-.5 range. I think you could get away with not having the front end like that. Change the front end, and change that ridiculously small rear door window, and it might be a decent truck. I actually really like the Superduty. With the black appearance and tremor packages, it’s probably one of the best looking trucks around.

I have the same grille as you, the big bend/outer banks. I like it well enough. My favorite is the base/black diamond grille. I said the badlands grille was the best because from my experience, it’s the one most people swap to. That or the black version on the wildtrak. But honestly, any grille would look good.

It’s too car like in the front to get traditional truck buyers to want it. We’ve seen how that plays out with the ridgeline and the Santa Cruz. This might bring in some non traditional truck buyers, but I don’t see it moving the needle enough.

The stroppe bronco is the perfect bronco. It has the best grille (badlands), the best wheels (they appear to be an all black version of the optional badlands wheels from the first few years), painted square wheel arches, mod bumper, painted hardtop, 2.7, and a nice looking interior. This package would be hugely popular if ford offered it in a 4dr with normal paint and black grille. The stroppe livery could have been a stand alone option limited to 1000 (for Baja 1000) units, only available on the 2 door version with a price of $7500. That way you would still get the exclusivity of the stroppe livery, but also a mass market trim.

I’d imagine a cab over would be a tough sell. Imagine driving in a vehicle loaded down with heavy batteries and you have nothing in front to protect you in a collision. Sitting on top of the wheels would probably get a little rough unless you equip some sort of air suspension. I can’t imagine that shape is very aerodynamic. The rivian is the best looking ev truck out there right now because it has the best proportions. I would never buy any of the new GM ev trucks because their cab forward design looks dumb. I see a ton of BS on the road every day. I routinely drive in three of the largest metro areas in the country. I have seen exactly one outer banks, one heritage and zero badlands. I’d guess if you live up north, where 4wd is needed more, you might see a bit more variety. I wish ford would release sales by trim. If I had to guess, nationwide would be something like 70% big bend, 20% outer banks, 5% badlands, and 5% other.

Akirby is right. What’s holding the sport back is size and price. It’s too small for families. It’s 8” shorter than the escape. If ford made the bronco sport the same size as the escape, it would drastically increase the sports customer pool. Families would be interested. Price is also a big factor. I’m sure everyone has noticed that the only trim that sells is the big bend. No one is paying extra for the bigger engine or the upgraded 4wd in the badlands. They aren’t even paying extra for the luxury options in the outer banks. You can believe ford’s marketing all you want, but the bronco sport is not some lifestyle adventure vehicle, it is a daily driver with some style. Offering it in fwd makes it cheaper, which again expands the customer pool. also, hardcore bronco fans already think the bronco sport itself dilutes the bronco name. They don’t consider it a real bronco anyways, so they won’t care 😆. Bronco II was also 2WD so there’s precedent.

For a retro model, I don’t mind this. It looks better than the heritage and light years better than the free wheeling. I just see the market for this being extremely small. I don’t know many people who want a vehicle painted like race car. Replacing the wildtrak seems strange. IMO it would have made more sense to replace the heritage limited. One thing ford messed up on was the camera housing. It should have been black so it blended in with the spaces between the other letters.

There’s a revolving door at my dealership to fix all of the recalls my explorer has. I’d consider silvrsvt lucky to have his fusion last 220k miles. My last two ford’s combined have only lasted a little more than half that (new motor at 60k in one and new transmission at 70k in the other). I’ve owned probably 15 ford’s. On almost all of them, once you hit 70k miles, it was all down hill. It was bad enough that I’ve only kept one ford with over 100k miles.

Is there a graphics and seat cover delete option?😆😆😆 Not a fan of the chrome door handles either. I do like the new wheels and interior (minus the seats). The bronco letters on the grille appear to be outlined in red. I need to get those for my bronco. The black roof isn’t available on the 24 big bend. Hoping since this has it, that it might be available on the 25 big bend, but I doubt it. The best part of this “reveal” is getting to see the changes for the ‘25. The new IP and the rear ac vents are things I wish my bronco had. I’d really like ford to offer a black heritage option. The heritage is already the cheapest way to get into a Sasquatch, and making a black version would appeal to more people than the white version currently does. The black heritage wheels (or even the wheels from this free wheeling package) and grille, along with the black mod top would make it one of the best looking broncos on the exterior. Interior accent color would be red to match the “ford” in the grille. Replace the navy interior plastics with black. The white dash insert would be the silver one from the outer banks. Keep the red lettering in the dash. I’d get rid of the plaid cloth seats, and replace them with the outer banks cloth seats, but in black and gray cloth, with red stitching.

I don’t think so. It has the character lines that match the front. A light bar or simple trim piece going across the back could add some more flair if needed. I generally like when ford adds black to the rear of their cars. Mustang, raptor, and flex sport are all good examples. The expedition just doesn’t seem like a good implementation. On the other models, the black doesn’t blend in with the windows to look like a giant blob like it does here. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up being a cost saving measure of some sort. That or some first year design student who’s still learning the ropes. edit: If the rectangular area that contains the ford emblem just above the tailgate lights was body colored, and you left the rest black, I think it would look much better.

Forgot to mention, the drive mode selector is in a weird place. It’s in the spot where the headlight knob normally is. Headlight controls have been moved to the touchscreen.

after watching the tfl video, here are my thoughts. The dash doesn’t look as bad in the video as it did in the leaked pics. It’s still not great but it’s not as bad as I feared. With a normal sized person in the driver seat, the dash screen didn’t look too far away as I initially thought. The full dash width screen would make this interior look much better though. I don’t like the steering wheel controls. The video showed the button layout appearing on the screen. Just give me physical buttons on the steering wheel. I like the ambient lighting. I think it’s one of the best looking set ups on a ford. Seats look great. I like the movable center console, but does it really need its own motor to move it? It would be cheaper, faster, and easier to use with a manual version. When it’s pushed fully back, it blocks the middle seat in the second row. But it would seem like the cup holders would be too far away for second row passengers if it was moved fully forward. The lights on the back of the roof rack are cool. I like the split tailgate, but I still question the use of black. I have a feeling that will get changed during the mid cycle refresh. I wish the tremor didn’t use so much yellow on the front. A simple yellow outline around the vents would have looked better. I also think these stealth package wheels are pretty cool.

So the real problem here is ford can’t make money on boring cars. So what does ford do? They avoid the problem by building more expensive vehicles that they can make money on. If ford would focus on ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality, then they could make a profit on boring cars, and make even more on their exciting cars. Another problem is “boring” is subjective. I think the ranger (minus raptor) is pretty boring compared to the competition, but some of you might disagree. You run a real risk of alienating customers if your version of boring doesn’t match up with someone else’s. with that said, I’m all for exciting vehicles. I dont even care about the engine, just give me a good looking vehicle. Although I hate the name, ford needs to expand the st line idea. Using the ranger again as an example, how much better do you think the ranger would sell if every trim looked like the raptor? The looks of a raptor with the guts of an xlt would be a big seller imo. Packages like the fx2, or Toyotas pre runner are good examples.

I don’t think I’d pay these new prices either.

The initial article was posted on motor1 yesterday, where they mentioned they were reaching out to ford to see if it was coming to the USA. “There’s no word yet about launching the Ranger PHEV in the United States. We’re reaching out to Ford to find out whether it’s coming to North America.” Then today, they got a response from ford and they updated the article to include the quote I mentioned earlier and this: “[UPDATE] In an e-mail to Motor1, Ford Truck Communications Manager Dawn McKenzie told us the Ranger PHEV is not coming to the US:”
