  1. There's no denying that they have got a very nice car now in the Malibu. Kudos for not changing the name too.
  2. Looks more like a Celica. 1ZVFT82H365160885.pdf
  3. I'm sure the $7,500 difference in base price had no effect on that.
  4. Good commercials, I chuckled. My wife rolled her eyes. The car in the commercial is an Olds Cutlass. Splitting hairs because its the same car as the Malibu from back then, but the grille in the commercial was the definitely the Olds model. Here's the commericals BTW: http://jalopnik.com/cars/ad-watch/2008-che...cars-312145.php http://jalopnik.com/cars/ad-watch/2008-che...bank-312164.php
  5. This many years later, people are still thinking the LX cars are built on a Mercedes platform? Oy vay.
  6. They are already building preproduction models in the factory with the manual...it IS coming.
  7. That's where people's opinion comes into play. I'm far from retirement and think its a gorgeous vehicle. One of the sharpest I've seen come out of the domestics in a while.
  8. My 99 Intrepid had over 100K when I sold it. No problems and the owner has well over 160K on it now. Still no problems. ...and its a 2.7L. I simply maintained it.
  9. Looks good....better then the concept. I like the taillights better. http://www.ontariostreetcar.com/showthread...p=4029#post4029
  10. I'm going to assume the Matrix is going to look a lot like the recently intro'd platform mate, Pontiac Vibe.
  11. Since when did the head of Sales and Marketing become CEO?
  12. The interior (how grainy and cropped it is) looks very nice. I wonder if they jazzed up the front fascia a bit. The prev gen Sonata was much more stand-out.
  13. Kinda cool. I'd be afraid to drive that thing out here in NY...but really cool. One question though: Does that mean even though I'm in an enclosed cockpit and have airbags, I have to wear a helmet in helmet-law states?
  14. Ions are in every major city's airports. I had one on my last biz trip to CA and it was horrid. When the counter lady told me I had a Saturn, I was silently praying for an Aura....alas not.
  15. The G8 is one excrement I'd gladly take.
  16. Great price for the V8...horrid price for the V6.
  17. There's obviously a bit more involved then that. For instance, which made the company more money on those sales. The 300 had a 50% take-rate on HEMI models which started over $33K in 2005. Platform amortization between models, etc etc... Quiet simply its a silly argument that only the bean counters could answer. Trying to compare a sports coupe and a fullsize car that have completely different price points sales to sales is fruitless at best.
  18. Quite simply, the 300 brought people in Chrysler dealers who would not have normally ever stepped foot in one. EOS. In 2005 the LX's were a quarter million in sales. 300's accounted for about 144K of them. Last year that number jumped to 300K. Same with Mustangs though. I'm sure plenty of people who would never buy a Ford bought Mustangs.
  19. His rationale was comparing monthly sales to monthly sales, that would not make a valid comparison. The Aviator did not sell a single unit in September of 2006. Hence any MKX sale is an added sale. Not trying to quibble, just bringing some clarification to jobu37's post. I'm sure some prior Exp/Avi/Mar owners went to Edge's and MKX's. But to take off straight sales from straight sales as was jobu's post, it has to be counted both ways.
  20. To use this rationale.... you do have to take into account the Edge and MKX which account for 15K additional sales that were not around this time last year.
  21. I don't either. But, I'm not going to put money on it at the same time.
  22. No, but I also would not expect sales to be as high on a mid year model changeover. Not having a full 9 months of production would obviously hinder that.
