  1. Thanks. I was afraid of that. I'm not sure if it is worth pursuing. I think if I knew what changes were I could decide. The truck doesn't update automatically. So it's a bit of a hassle to keep leaving it at the shop for a day or 2.
  2. I got my '22 Sync 4 updated today to version 610 after creating a case with Ford and taking my truck to the dealer. But I see some '22s are at version 934. Is there a list somewhere of software updates that shows what updates or changes are in each version? You know - like most software updates do in the IT world. Thanks.
  3. You should get a slider. Anything else limits you, especially on a wide bodied Solitude. Listen to all the others without sliders - they all say 'I can turn far enough' but they all add that they can't turn all the way (up to a 90 degree turn); and they all add that I have to keep an eye on....... I've had 2 auto sliders in my short beds. First the Pullrite and then the Demco auto slider Hijacker. The proper substitute for a non slider is a long bed truck. So now I have a long bed with a Reese Goosebox. With an auto slider you never have to get out of the truck to make adjustments - just back up or make that U-turn without interruption. My DEMCO is now sitting idle stored in the garage. Not sure why I don't just scrap it.
  4. I doubt it is the adaptive steering. I had it on my 2018 and it's on my brand new 2022 too. The new truck steers straight - with or without a trailer (a 5th wheel). You'd think a Ford dealership would be checking the alignment, tires pressures, torque on nots and bolts, etc., instead of just blowing you off. But lately I think a lot of dealerships service departments just suck at what they are suppose to do. Hopefully you can find a good dealership that is willing to actually look for a problem.
  5. I used it for the last 2 weeks. It worked quite well. I didn't press the keypad, I issued verbal information. You sure you have the right car?
  6. 8 months and 1 day later..... KRU - loaded (except for MC seats). I should have fully closed the door so the running board wasn't deployed.
  7. Thanks. ice-capades. I called, and sure enough, it's built and ready to ship. Apparently today and they gave me a CSX rail car number too. Things are looking up!!
  8. I finally got the "It's Built" email (ordered 10/29/21) and it said I should receive my truck (KRU, SRW, LB) between July 16th and the 22nd. Now I have 2 questions...... 1. Does that mean it isn't waiting for chips or more parts or whatever and it is really ready to ship? 2. My window sticker says "Convoy"; I'm in central FL. Does the shipping time seem reasonable? Thanks. oh.... yes - the delete MC seat 'option' is there along with the whopping $300 refund
  9. Ordered my 350 LB, SRW, on 10/29. The latest word I have is that is to be built the week of 6/13. But the original build was suppose to be 3/7. So who know when it will actually get built, let along shipped!
  10. Actually there are lots of places to get that exact information. Personally I would never rely on data off the top of my head (it's too cluttered with other useless stuff). wowens79 probably got the best reply and put some thought into it..... I'd agree with him that most folks probably wouldn't, or don't do a lot of research on used vehicles.
  11. OK. Think in general terms and forget the analogy. In 2 or 3 or 4 years, when folks go looking for a used '22 Limited or Platinum will they pass on one without MC seats (or whatever else Ford decides to delete) and instead opt for a '22 model with them thus making your '22 without them less valuable?
  12. Pretty much like no one wants a 6.0 Diesel engine, will the 2022’s with deleted features be of less value than other model years immediately before and after the 22’s?
  13. I used some LockTite Poly caulk for the seams. I used a half piece of pipe insulation for the sides of the tailgate and some foam weather-stripping for the bottom of the tailgate. I have a Roll-n-Lock cover. I'm probably 90% sealed but dust is still going to get in. I think you'd need one of those hinged solid fiberglass tops to stay any dryer but it kind of defeats the purpose of a truck (as does a bed rug - there is an oxymoron... bed rug...).
  14. I have to agree. Just in time inventory these days has to be a challenge. Sorry if I let my frustration creep in here. I'm just really anxious to get a long bed and try out a different fifth wheel towing arrangement.
  15. I thought the multi-contour seats had a longer seat bottom profile than the non-MC seats? I know there are more bladders, but I thought the shape was different too since I've heard folks say something about the seat bottom being too long for them in some cases.
  16. I am not being naive. And, while frustrated at all this, will continue to monitor my order and hope for the best. However, I remain frustrated and confused that Ford can't do a better job of managing their ability to tell folks what will be built and when without stringing us along. I worked for decades delivering very large and complex projects of both hardware and software. I can't think of a single time I had to continually go back to a customer and keep slipping a delivery date over and over again. Did those delivery dates slip sometime? Sure, of course. But if I didn't have a product available did I keep telling the client a new date or did I step up and tell them I didn't know and things were beyond my control? I did the later. Then we could sit and discuss what to do next. Ford doesn't work that way. I get it. But it is a simple matter for them to determine whether they have sufficient supplies on hand to build a product and then set a date it can be built and delivered. Instead they hope for the best while string folks along. Then make it sound like they do us a favor continuing to delay things, thus keeping our hopes up and their backlog strong for financial statements. And then (aka: multi contour seat delete now taking place) they continue to tell us it is good for us that we are getting a product although it does not meet all our criteria (what we ordered) while hoping we will not drop our orders. I recognize it is a complex world. But compare this to the way a company like Tesla works. You wait a long time there, you get a date, you get what you ordered. All while managing the exact same problems the other auto manufacturers are faced with.
  17. I wanted the multi-contour seats but not the moonroof. But I had to get the Ultimate package on my KRU to get those seats, and, therefore, the moonroof. Now, apparently, I can't have those seats. So now I don't want the moonroof either. But I have a VIN. So I suppose I can't delete that moonroof? It's pretty frustrating and it doesn't tend to make you consider other manufacturers. Even if only to see if they really are as limited as Ford.
  18. I guess I find the "scheduling process" confusing. I suppose it is the idea that something can be scheduled but then not built when scheduled, and then re-scheduled - time after time after time. Why schedule something you can't do? Why keep repeating that process? Why not wait until something is certain and then schedule it? Can't someone figure out that something can't be built and, therefore, not schedule it? Sure - all kinds of reasons for delays, etc. But the idea that someone has a schedule and all it does is slip seems sort of silly. I'd rather find out 2 days ahead of time that something is scheduled and have it actually happen than repeatedly make empty promises weeks (or months) ahead of time only to fail. It sort of make the person/industry/company doing the scheduling look pretty dull. I can't think of any other industry or manufacturer that would do that. Well... maybe the government....
  19. yeah..... um.... NO! I got a VIN in January and a build date of early March (it's so long ago I forget the exact date). Guess where my truck is now?...... here is a hint.... not started yet... now it will (supposedly, according to Ford) be built starting June 9th.... still waiting on a KRU, SRW, LB, 4x4 with ALL options.... I'm thinking that waiting for a ride to the moon would be more promising.....
  20. I got a VIN in January. Truck has been scheduled 6 times, still not still not started. And, therefor, no window sticker. So I think you have to wait until it is just prior to production until you see a sticker.
  21. Just wanted to repeat the part about at high speed... it is suppose to make the steering less responsive. At low speed it reduces the number of steering turns needed. My current 2018 has AS and Ive been waiting since late October for my '22 because I want it on that too (or I'll just wait for a '23 with it). I tried out a friends '22 w/o AS but honestly, at low speed could not really tell the difference. But I can hear mine doing something inside the steering wheel at low (or almost no) speed. Here is a a video from Ford about it (although I don't think the "Sport" / "Normal" applies to the Super Duty)......
  22. Why no scheduling? It seems if one has a build date and a VIN then all the parts must be available.
  23. I've had Roll-n-Lock on 3 trucks (since 2000). Never had a problem. I like they are hard, they keep their 'pleather' top looking fine with regular washing and some 303 protectant spray. They look good and seem secure. No problems with bed rail side clearance with a Demco Hitchhiker slider. I'll be putting another one my 2022 - if the truck ever get built (grrrr!).
  24. Mine is doing the same.... 3/7... 3/14, 3/28, 4/4, and now 4/18 (not sure what happened to 4/11 - I guess Ford is taking that week off. But here is my question - why? What is causing the slips? If thought if I got a build date and a Vin then that meant they had all the parts and it was just a matter of working the build into a build schedule.... what makes these dates slip? Thanks.
