  1. There are only two units shown on Ford's dealer locator system which show either the 854 (sedan) or 855 (hatch) SFE option. Both are SE hatchs and the sticker shows 29 city / 40 highway. I could have sworn that Ford announced that all Fiestas would have SFE standard but can't find any announcement on the dealer site. Perhaps they only made the T-rated tires standard. The 6/1/2010 order guide shows SFE as an option ($695 MSRP sedan / $395 MSRP hatch).
  2. I don't know how the corporate dealer connection sites operate; however, the internal dealership vehicle locator system does not list retail units until they have been on the ground for 30 days. We can also pick and choose which units appear on the dealer locator system thus avoiding numerous calls (from other dealers) on hot units.
  3. We have had infrequent "stop sale" orders before in which the unit is physically at the dealership but can't be sold. That these units are sitting at the final destination ramp is unusual since Ford Credit is not collecting floorplan interest or flat (insurance) charges (for those dealers flooring with FMCC). These charges begin upon delivery to the dealer.
  4. July Mustang sales should show a mid-month jump as the Ramp 5P / 51 shuffle is supposed to end. Dealers also report a large number of retail / fleet Fusion and Ranger units which have been sitting at final destination ramps for weeks. Ramps can't release the units directly to dealers based on Ford's directive that the units involved are part of a quality hold. I've never seen Ford release and ship a unit then hold it at the final destination ramp in such a fashion.
  5. Standard tire is 185/65R15. SFE tire is 195/60R15. Upgrade tire (SEL/SES) is 195/50R16.
  6. OAC_Sparky -- Thanks for the information. We had a 2011 Mustang GT coupe with accessory package #5 and they and the crew @ Flat Rock did a fantastic job. The invoice does indeed indicate "Mustang VPC Shipthru 22400 Vreeland Rd Woodhaven MI". Our F150's with remote start do not indicate any ship through details. Thanks again.
  7. Question for those at Flat Rock and Kansas City (F Series): When a Mustang is ordered with one of the "pre-installed custom accessory" packages (hood scoop, pedestal spoiler, side scoops, decklid face panel and/or quarter window louvers), does the vehicle physically leave the assembly plant for installation of this package? Same question for F Series @ KC when ordered with factory installed remote start. Thanks in advance for any information.
  8. OASIS was to have been activated for this program on 03-05-2010 but I just ran one for a 2008 Escape AWD with a build date of 05-19-2008 and it does not show the 09B10 open. At this point, I would have your parents wait at least a week until they contact their preferred Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer for more information. Also, Ford expects a small percentage of vehicles will require transmission fluid cooler replacement and will initially require the cooler to be ordered through the Special Service Support Center. Finally, this is a "Customer Satisfaction Program"; Compliance, Safety & Emissions Recalls generally do not have an expiration date.
  9. AFFECTED VEHICLES Certain 2008 model year Escape and Mariner vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission built at the Kansas City Assembly Plant from Job #1 through May 9, 2009. Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS. A list of vehicles assigned to your dealership will be available by March 31, 2010. I agree, so then it comes down to whether or not Ford mails out a notice to those with vehicles affected. Been out of Ford for to long, I can't remember if a "B" program gives notice or not but I'm thinking not. OWNER NOTIFICATION MAILING SCHEDULE Owner letters are expected to begin mailing on March 12, 2010. Dealers should inspect / repair any affected vehicles that arrive at their dealerships, whether or not the customer has received a letter.

  11. I am a dealership employee. The 2011 order guide (dated 2/2/2010) is up on the dealer site.
  12. 2011 Order Guide still shows Regular Cab, SuperCab and CrewCab versions of both the F650 and F750.
  13. Her name will have to be on the title if she wants to use her father's A Plan PIN. Her father is able to generate 4 PIN's per year for himself or eligible immediate family members. "Immediate family" means the following relatives of the employee or retiree: Spouse Parents Spouse's parents Grandparents Spouse's grandparents Sons and daughters (including in-laws and step-children) Grandchildren Brothers and sisters (including in-laws, half and step) Same-sex domestic partners of eligible active employees Immediate family members of eligible same-sex domestic partners
  14. Yes, A Plan is a much better deal than X Plan.
  15. Try Ford's certified pre-owned website www.fordcpo.com . Search feature is located at http://www.fordcpo.com/ford/searchinventory.aspx . Edited to add: As hot as used Escapes are currently, finding a sub-$10,000 CPO unit will be tough. Might also look at cars.com or autotrader.com for non-CPO units which will fit your brother's budget.
  16. Late in responding to the original post but 2010 model year Shelby GT500's will likely end production in December 2009 (we have one scheduled for the week of November 30th). There are quite a few dealers trying to unload 2008 and 2009 KR's on the internal Ford Motor Company dealer site. No takers even with big discounts from invoice. There are also several 2010 GT500's on the dealer site but there is much more interest in these units. Appears to be alot of buzz for the 2011 model year Shelby GT500 with the all-aluminum 5.4. SVT really did a great job with the 2010 upgrades.
  17. Reporting the sale to Ford consists of the VIN, date of sale, customer information and type of sale (retail, lease, fleet, commercial, etc...). The type of sale is broken down to very specific classes of sales. There are 26 retail sale classifications and 10 fleet sale classifications. Generating an invoice (ie voucher) from the DOT/NHTSA required specific drivetrain information (FWD vs RWD vs AWD, 4x2 vs 4x4, engine displacement, transmission, GVWR) for both the vehicle sold and the trade in. I don't know how they are summarizing the specific Category 3 truck transactions since the drop down menu's never contained the correct information.
  18. According to the Fiesta brand manager, tentatively, both manual and automatic transmssions on the Fiesta can be flat towed.
  19. Why would used parts prices be rising? The salvage yards have 180 days to strip the vehicles prior to shredding/crushing. Supply of desirable used parts should increase as the salvage yard will strip and inventory such used parts. In theory, demand for used parts should also decrease since you are removing approximately 750,000 potential customers from the mix. Our local scrap metal peddler claims that the market for scrap metal has dropped to nothing due to expected increased supply.
  20. My nephews love this site. http://www.fordvehicles.com/the2010mustang...overview/No3390
  21. That explains why Sioux Falls has two Fiesta Movement agents: Tanya Kruiter #87 http://www.fiestamovement.com/agents/view/87 and Hugh Weber #42 http://www.fiestamovement.com/agents/view/42
  22. Dealers are classified by Ford as either "Contact" or "Select" based on sales volume and parts & service criteria (both the Sales Division and the Customer Service Division classify the dealers - some dealers were "Contact" for Sales but "Select" for Customer Service). Contact dealers have frequent face-to-face interaction with their Ford rep (hence the term "contact"); Select dealers are serviced via fax/e-mail/phone from the new complex in Melbourne FL. A Select Dealer rep will likely never set foot in one of his/her dealers' showroom. With the current sales decline, I believe there are now more "Select" Sales Division dealers than "Contact". The Select Dealer Region is considered a separate region by Ford Sales Division and we compete for allocation just like the geographic regions. That said, "Ford and Lincoln Mercury are pleased to provide the 2009 Online Order Protection Program effective September 1, 2008. All customers who order any eligible 2008/2009/2010 Ford or Lincoln Mercury vehicle during the program period are eligible to have payments (capitalized cost for retail purchases, customer cash or renewal cash) protected at the levels of the incentives in effect at the time of their order or delivery, whichever is better. An additional provision allows scheduled stock orders to be converted to retail customer orders and also be protected." The program number is 32770. Select Dealers have had this program for years. Not all incentives are protected under the program. Congrats Deanh on +/- 90 years; our appointment date was August 1, 1950. If you have time, check out Tenvoorde Ford in St Cloud MN ("world's oldest Ford dealership"); their franchise was awarded prior to the incorporation of the current Ford Motor Company.
  23. ppremc -- Unfortunately, your salesperson is correct. As others have suggested, order your 2010 and then customize it. The dealership can do all the work before you take delivery and you'll have a one-of-a-kind Regular Cab XLT Chrome Package.
