A co-worker just ordered a new Mustang. Someone told him that ther was a way he could watch it being built. Does anyone have information on what he would have to do to make that happen?

ACH was formed to sell or close 22 facilities that Ford got back from Visteon. Best guess is that there is someone talking to Ford about buying the Sandusky plant. IF the plant is sold you will become employees of the company that buys the plant. TYPICALLY when a plant is sold the union still retains bargining rights for the workers staying with the plant. You are seeing SOME of the union people leaving for Cleveland engine now. Not all Ford employees will leave for plants that fly the blue oval. Given the fact that we are in the process of buying six new molding machines and associated equipment ($15 to $20 million) to run the nex generation of the Escape I do not think that Sandusky will close. You will see these machines arrive in the May to July time frame.

Raws couldn't handle the non visual work Sandusky sent them. How would they handle visual critical lighting?

If you are in Sandusky, you have been here for years or you are a "production associate". You would also know that the UAW nickle fund jackets are being fitted this week with the other jackets fitted the week of Feb. 21, 2011. What department are you assigned to?

If some of you people would just sit down with your contract and benefits books and read them you would be a lot better off.

From other Ford plants - I would say never. To other Ford plants - no one knows. From off the street - we are hiring weekly. Testing was done in November and December and they are hiring off of that list for the foreseeable future.

If the plant is sold, both salaried and hourly would have decisions to make. For some hourly here they would have to decide if they want to move to stay in the Ford system or take a buyout and work for whoever buys the Sandusky plant. The reason that I say for some hourly is that the number of "blue or Ford" employees is changing by the week right now with those that signed up for Cleveland leaving in waves over the next two months. By the time they all leave we will probalby have more "orange or temps" working in Sansusky thatn Ford employees. For salaried some of them would be relieved of the jobs as the new owners put thier people in those spots.

Flex-n-gate should be walking in the front door now for a tour.

skittet150, what plant are you at? Are you using the web based version? Sandusky ACH is preparing to do a upgrade in MAXIMO next month.

78 signed the bid sheet for Cleveland. After those leave that should leave about 500 Ford people. 360 production and 140 skilled, all numbers are approxmate.

Twincam Harley, I agree with you. If these people would read their contract it states in Volume III page 76 tht "Plan Years" shall meal calender years 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Sandusky ACH has Lima employees here on loan. Unclear how many right now.
