engine line utility went to see the 09 -2010 expy's with flex fuel motors and diesels about 8 months ago. was told the engine line was getting a total makeover to accomodate.

Engine line will get a makeover alright..It will be outsourced just like they doing at DTP! Thanks to the COA!

Engine line's not going anywhere, Tire hole is.

Tire room isn't going anywhere anytime soon, they are putting a new silo in over shutdown for 22" wheels and there isn't anywhere else for ford to have the tires built up and shipped to the plant , ITW is out of business and dearborn can barely build their own shit let alone build ours plus they would have to sink a ton of money into the docks in the tire room in order to run the prebuilt assy's.

Your right the engine line is not going anywhere,it will stay in the plant but will be run by a another company with non-ford workers..Once the engine line gets outsourced at DTP,which that process is happening now,the same company will most likely take over all the engine lines in FORD assembly plants....That new COA is nothing but a job eliminating contract...You think what you want to but just remember DTP is the model for all plants so what happens at DTP will eventually happen at all FORD plants!

So as far as I can gather there are only 2 rumors. MTP to close in '09 and the loss of a shift in the next month. Has the company produced anything factual about the impending lay-off?

On another topic, has the COA language been published?

Keep on eye on body and paint for 08,09 and 10's there going to run thru.

No, the COA language hasn't been published yet because it hasn't been fully written yet. Now that we have 'passed' it they will put in it whatever they want. If Jeff and Darryl aren't careful there won't be enough people left after the COA to pay their salary. Guess that is why they are talking of increasing the union dues from 2 hrs. to 3 hrs pay.

Let me guess. Does the person getting the janitorial contract have a son that is getting out of prison soon and getting his job back with all his senority? Just a wild guess.
