PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, ANYONE WHO WORKS AT FORD U.S. LOOK HERE

Recommended Posts

Well gosh, I guess they should just close up shop now.................. as the Cashman has spoken.

Let me guess, you are one of those brainiacs who thinks that a giant automaker can just change everything in a few months or so................. right???

Change is underway. It certainly isn't happening fast enough (nor can it) to appease the negatoids. However, the problem with negatoids is that they will never be pleased. It will never be fast enough, enough change, cheap enough, expensive looking enough, quick enough, brake short enough, have enough stuff, weigh little enough, have enough fuel economy, or............. or.............. or. Because, Ford will never do EXACTLY what each and every one of YOU think that they need to do to be successful.

I know, all of the back seat CEO's need to start their own auto manufacturing companies. Cashman Motor Company................ hey, that has a nice ring to it. Or............... you could just buy a major manufacturer, and mold it in your image. I hear that Chrysler is for sale. :D

Do you realize how much these two paragraphs make you look like a major troll??? Or, is that your intention???

There is so much wrong with these statements, that I'm not even going to bother to pull it all apart............. and tell you the error of your ways. Lets just come to the conclusion, that your OPINIONS, are just that.............. opinions. Lets just say that the GARBAGE Edge, and the 500hp "Rustang" are flying out of dealerships. So, obviously, others do not share your rather warped opinion.

That said, anyone who comes to a Ford board, and talks about "Rustangs" loses about any ounce of credibility that they may actually possess. This is usually a term that is reserved for GM fanatics, or "fart can" lovers.

PS, try to get your "facts" at least a little accurate, before ranting.

I have every right to call them Rustangs. I have an 06 that has squeaks, groans and rattles all over... and it's got less than 15k miles on it. On top of that I've got several buddies who have had major issues with their electrical systems. I'd rather own a ford with problems than a japanese ricebox, but I'd hope for a little better quality from a nearly $30,000 vehicle.

As far as the GT500's selling... they're selling primarily to the 'deep pocket' crew and not people who actually want performance. Ask any car nut if they want a car that weighs over 2 tons for a race vehicle, and they'll laugh in your face. 500hp will get a fox body WELL into the 11's, average drivers are struggling to get mid 12's out of GT500's. It simply weighs too god damn much.

Please though, feel free to correct anything you find out of place in my posts... if you can't take criticism than just sit back and watch Ford sink with the rest of the community. At least I'm trying to do something about it, even though it's in vain.

No, I don't think that... I'd just like to see ONE move in the right direction, lately all I've seen is the Fusion/"new Taurus"/Edge/Flex crap. Seems like the only Bold Moves are producing more cars that won't sell.

I understand it takes years to produce new platforms and vehicles, but using existing platforms already used in much of the world will save much time. GM did it with their V platform in just a few years.

Who cares who they are selling too...as long as they are selling!

As for the Fox body..your gonna need a shitload of cash and mods to do that, plus your already way out warranty, which your Shebly GT500 has, not to mention a MUCH better platform then the Fox ever was with its wet noodle structural stiffness.

Sounds like more hard feelings and ranting then anything else

Exactly... and we have bland styling AND unreliable vehicles... and getting rid of the bad quality reputation will YEARS to overcome.

Hmm...wasn't there a recent survey that concluded Ford is one of the MOST trusted brands in America? That's not exactly synonymous with "shit" quality. Their vehicles built in the past 3-4 have not only been reliable, they have also been amongst the safest vehicles on the road. Ford has more 5-star crash test ratings than anybody, and they also rate above or near average in the JD Power Dependibility Study. So much for unreliable.

I would also venture to suggest that the Fusion, Edge, Flex, and Mustang are a lot bolder-looking than anything FoA sells.

The new Fords that they are dishing up in Europe at the moment are very dull, bland and boring. l could not agree with you more on that, but l think most new cars what ever brand now all have quite good alround reliabilty though. Ford have always been the number 1,2,3,4,5 best selling cars in the UK since the late 60's, and best seller in Europe with the Escort and Cortina in the past but now only the boring Focus only managed to make No3 in Europe last year despite offering them with suicidal discounts on the complete Ford range, with Fords share of the market sinking fast overhall. I find all new Ford sold in Europe to be very bland, dull, and very boring compared to what they used to produce, the only vechile they sell with any character and personality is the Ford Ranger which is a builders wagon which l dont really want or need why?? No wonder youngster are all turning into raging enviromenterlists and anti car, it must been put off by being driven round everywhere in a boring F

Ford don't have a Sports car to buy in Europe at the moment, and have not sold any in big numbers since the Capri which was the the No1 selling sports car in Europe right throughout the 70's and sent every other manufactueres sports cars sales grapgh charts to the floor, Why do Ford move so slowly when it comes to bringing a sports car to the European market place, and don't sell one at the moment why???

Will someone please let me know whats so good about the Toyota Camry in the States, they do sell them in the UK but nobody buys them over here, they dont even make the top 200 chart in the UK why???

Because so many Americans were sick of buying unreliable Fords and GM's in the 80's and 90's that they all defected to Toyota. Even though the quality situation has improved for Ford and GM, they are having a difficult time giving any Toyota owners a reason to switch back.

Thanks for that Nick, Fords cars produced in Europe do match the Japs for reliability & quality, we don't buy any Japanese car in big numbers over here like you do in the States, I would rather buy a German made Ford any day, the German steel they use produce body panels has a high carbon content, which makes them more corrosion resistant, making it a much better all-round package than anything the Japs could ever dish up.

The French are eating into everybody’s market at the moment in Europe just like Airbus has done with Boeing, a French car was a very rare sighting on the UK roads in the 70's 80's & 90's which was flooded with Fords at the time, now one in every 4 is now French made, the German share is getting bigger as well. Focus is still number 1 best seller in the UK at the moment, l would like to buy a new Ford but the Focus is just to bland & dull for my liking.

...Yep, that crappy Fusion with its class-leading reliability, or that pos Edge with its explosive sales gains. What is Ford coming to, thinking reliable, stylish, desirable products like these will turn the company around.

If people working for ford actually believe this, no wonder they're going under.

Because they are synonymous with cheap, long lasting, reliable riceboxes... even if ford comes out with a new vehicle right now that's better in every way, it will take time for people to transition over from something they trust.

OK, we get it. You don't like the Fusion or Edge or Flex. However, that's just your personal opinion. But what exactly does that have to do with how well they will sell or whether they're profitable vehicles?

please don't call the GT500 a bad car, if it weren't for that dealer mark-up, i know tons of people that would buy, me included, i just don't want to pay 20k more for a name, don't get me wrong Carrol Shelby is a great man in the world of performance cars, ford needs to make a mustang that isn't a special edition and make it an actual model that is at least 400 HP but then again, financially the mustang sells because of the V6 they put in it, i hear they might want to put the rumored 6.2L in the new mustang or at least make it an option, they do this because they need to compete with the new camaro which will cost a lot more money than a mustang unless they get rid of that IRS and lose about 50 horses on it, the fusion is a great car, i got to drive one and it was very responsive, but I'm used to a truck so it's a big difference to me, ok and here is another example of how the camry is so popular here, i spelled camaro right and it underlined it in red so i see what they suggested my problem was and their correction for "camaro" was "Camry".....aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!.......they even control our spellcheck....damn japs

  • 2 weeks later...

If gas goes to $4 a gallon, forget about it, regardless if a lot of the praise of Austrailian vehicles is the "greener grass" mentality.

Heck, gas at that price would make us look long and hard at a small wagon - oh yeah, Ford dumped that as part of a horrendous restyle of the Focus.
