The Ford weighs a lot more, its powertrain calibration is a lot tamer. Buy a tuner.
01FOCI
Ford vs Chevy.... Gawd do we really have to dive into this.... Things to consider when comparing engines: They have different ways of acheiving similar or the same displacement ie stroke and bore. They have different tranny gearing and rearend ratios. HP and TQ numbers are also achaived at different RPMs ie powerband, torque curves etc... So if you really want to know why two different engines in two different vehicles dont drive the same, gather all pertinent info and do the math... I did not intend to make it a Ford /Chevy thing it is simply the 2 vehicles we own . Yes there are alot of variables and yes I have done some figuring ,it was just a simple question why chevys seem to have a little more pep than the Fords . My Ford seems to be flat ,just a seat of the vehicle observation .I am sure I am not the only who would agree
F350
What year Tahoe? Does it have the 6-speed tranny? I am actually more a Ford guy than chevy ,I know its a 06 Tahoe with a 5.3 not sure about the 6 speed , 5 speed comes to mind on tranny ,just got the vehicle the other day I have driven it once so this is just my opinion on my first ride/driveof the vehicle. Good luck to those RED WINGS San Jose is no joke Detroit has there hands full

You could add a less restrictive intake and more free-flowing cat-back exhaust. My boys did that with their '06 trucks. I'm not sure about their mileage, but it sure woke up the trucks' performance. Sounds better too.
Ford-150
these engines react pretty good to mods, but we have to sacrifice some agility to have the strongest 1/2 ton on the market, ford is working on a new engine
Mark8LSC CE0464
I've got a 5.4 in my E-250. Pulls like crazy! No complaints when loaded down while towing a trailer.
