RichardJensen
These reports tally pretty close to JD Power, difference appearing to be more classes with the Ford commissioned survey, and slightly different definitions of TGWs.

NickF1011
How do these results compare to other automakers though? 75% owner satisfaction doesn't sound very good to me, honestly...unless there's a lot more disappointed overall car owners out there than I think. Ford Jellymoulds
FORD JUST VOTED THE MOST RELIABLE CARS IN THE WORLD Mr Mulally has a mountain to climb. In a recent survey by car magazine JD Power, Ford brands were rated among the best in the world for reliability, yet the company's own research suggests the message is just not getting through. Come on Marketing get your arse into gear. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtm...2/ccford112.xml
LincolnFan
Come on Marketing get your arse into gear. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtm...2/ccford112.xml Mulally can fix about any problem Ford faces except one, marketing. I'd say hopeless but I would be complimenting it.
RichardJensen
Don't be in a hurry to blame marketing: 1) There is a GIGANTIC stigma associated with U.S. manufactured goods. It has taken root over the past 3-4 DECADES and it cannot be overcome by a single company's marketing campaign. 2) There is a similarly outsize assumption that a) all Asian cultures, and people are basically the same, and b) all Asians are good at manufacturing anything and anything built in an Asian country is, ipso facto, better than anything built in the U.S. 3) Ford itself has furnished a few decades worth of ammo to anyone wishing to broadside them in the form of hundreds of thousand, no MILLIONS of poorly built vehicles. You can't overcome that quickly no matter how hard you try.
2005GTP
Word of mouth is the best form of advertising.....instead of throwing cash on the hood.....Ford should be offering current buyers rebates based on how many people they refer. Hell, instead of putting 2k on the hood, give a thousand to the potential buyer and a thousand to the person referring. Rally its customer base to act as sales folks. Traveler
Ford should offer rebates, however those rebates should be gauged according to Ford loyalty and/or the desire to win conquest sales. Rebates shouldn't be just freely given without a reason. -$1,500 rebate for trading in a Ford vehicle. -$750 rebate for trading in a competitors' vehicle. Incentives don't have to mean begging for business. I was sent a $50 test drive offer to drive any Ford vehicle back in 2005. I test drove a Ford Five-Hundred and got a $50 gift card in the mail. Ford should know their potential customers. Get Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Five-Hundred, Montego, Fusion owners in the door and get them to test drive a new Taurus. Set up kiosks with a top-end Taurus and Taurus X at major N.A. shopping malls, collect potential customer data from interested parties and send them a similiar offer to test drive the Taurus and offer those rebates above. Sell those improvements, sell that class-leading horsepower. Ford marketing needs to get on the ball and promote!!! I see cars in malls quite often but they are locked up tight and no representative in sight. That's just not a way to win back America. Set up Ford promotions in the parking lot. Haul in some of your best models on a car carrier and make it a traveling show. Edited July 22, 2007 by Traveler
