NickF1011
4 months toyota, you better start throwing money like crazy if you want to sell 200K Turdas this year. I still find it funny that they say their projected sales target was 200K when the actual capacity for the two plants building them now is around 300K. Can we say underperforming? I think Toyota was hoping this truck would sell well over 200K so they could claim they "smashed our internal targets" while still coming nowhere close to fully utilizing capacity. RichardJensen
around 300K. If you figure 240k at San Antonio and 120k or so at Princeton, you're at 360k. Not smart. I mean they can run the line slow at San Antonio and pretend that they never planned on building more than 200k trucks there, but who are they kidding? Not to mention declining sales of the 4Runner & Sienna have opened up capacity for the Tundra at Princeton.
BlackHorse
Frankly I still don't see what is so appealing about the Tundra personally. It doesn't look good, it's damned expensive and it's not as rugged or capable as the F150 pound for pound. If you gave me one for free I'd likely sell it. The Tacoma vs the Ranger I can see why people opt for the Tacoma. But that Tundra is just not that good of a truck.

I don't blame the guy, but at the same time, he shouldn't have bought it in the first place. At least he realized his mistake.

Well, the GM duo has outsold the F-Series for years. But the F-Series is the best selling nameplate. do you mean the 71,172 number includes Avalanche meaning 67,486 Silverado sales, or 71,172 + 3,686 = Silverado/Avalanche sales? 67,486 + 3,686 = Chevy GMT900 sales Frankly I still don't see what is so appealing about the Tundra personally. The Tundra may not be as tough as the F-150 but it's more than capable of daily commuting work and weekend runs to Home Depot. And when sold thousands under sticker it becomes pretty attractive. I can get an F150 to do all of that commuting / Home Depot stuff too, and I don't have to drive an ugly truck.
