CarShark
That curb weight figure for the Cobalt must be a mistake. Everywhere else I've seen it as closer to around 2800 lbs. Still, pretty much the heaviest in class. (along with the new husky-fied Scion xB)

FordBuyer
The only reason the Focus sell more is due to the much larger Ford dealer network... Toyota has a much smaller dearler network than Ford and Toyota dealers give crappy service...so how come they do so welll with high volume cars? Nissan and Honda have even less dealers than Toyota and they have a few high volume vehicles too.

jonas1022
I remember when Escorts outsold the Corollas, and Civics. Taurus outsold the Accords. I remember when nobody would drive a Camry! And now? Watch out F-150, one more try and it's curtains amigo!
Pioneer
The F150 outsells the Camry and the SD outsells the Accord. The Camry all by itself sells more than all Ford branded passenger cars. Combined. Camry August 2007 sales: 46,942 LINK Ford passenger car sales: Fusion 12,511 Focus 13,282 Taurus 4,482 Five Hundred 1,369 Mustang 11,512 Total: 43,156 LINK Edited September 8, 2007 by Pioneer
RichardJensen
Yes. That also means that the F150 outsells all Ford passenger cars. original questions was about Toyota and Honda's smaller dealership network and their high volume products. My point was that high volume is really a matter of perspective. Also, Ford has too many dealers, rather than Toyota and Honda not having enough. RichardJensen
Like clockwork. As though your substitution of funny little graphics for another person's words isn't just as predictable.
ANTAUS
BTW, Toyota publically has stated that it doesn't make much, if ANY money on the Camry's. They hope customers have a positive experience so they trade to a higher, more profittable vehicle in the future. Thought I'd share before we start tossing out Camry numbers...
