Matthew l did not bring the oil sands topic to this board you did, and l am not a sheep thank you, just trying to establish a few facts by asking you what you thought the fact that Natural Gas supplies being depleted and consumed at alarming rates in oil sand production. and sheep organisations like the US Energy Information Organisation & and Canada’s National Energy Board have suggested that Canada has PROVEN reserves of natural gas that will be all gone in about a 8 years time, why do you think Canada has more Natural Gas left these two sheepish government organisations, and what are you saying that next to no Natural Gas is being consumed by the Oil Sand processes, how much of Canada’s Natural Gas is being consumed here l would like know from you.

 

I think that in just a few more years’ time Canadian will start to kick up a stink as they see their gas prices surge upwards as oil sand production eats into their future heating supplies. Canadian have not got to get these Nuclear Power stations up and running in the “Push” you mentioned, Nuclear Power stations will take 10 years from conception to up and running, with only 8 years natural gas left in Canada they would have run out 2 years prior to this the math does not add up. Oil companies like Shell have been known to lie about the reserves that they have left in order to keep the share price up, BP have already downsized their estimates on the oil sands and give a figure for usable oil which will not last long if the US continues to consume 22 million barrels of oil per day.

 

These are no sheep Matthew, are you sure you know what you are talking about, don't believe figures oil companies put out Matthew they have been known to lie a bit to keep the share prices up.

This is the same kind of garbage that was published and released in the late 70's All the experts And energy ministers were say we would be out of proven Oil reserves by the year 2000.

Guess what, we have since consumed that volume 2 times over.

 

Also the big word in the phrase is Proven. The Government's or industries definetion or proven and yours and my definetion of proven are completly different. Kinda like how Canada went 26th to 2nd over night of PROVEN oil resevres. Where did it it all come from over night? Did it just appear by magic. No it was always there and always known about and in fact was producing, It just went from actual reserves to proven reserves cause they changed the rules so this Oil could be included in Proven reserves That is why they always use the term Proven and NOT actual.

 

There is big ass differance between the 2. The term Proven only applies to feilds where they can prove what the volume left in the formation is and the only way to do that is to have it producing. You can not prove the volume in any NG or oil deposit until you actually start pumping or piping the stuff out.

Try to find any news release any where that states Acutal Oil or NG remaning. You wont as they do not exsist. You should know by now no Govrnment or Big buissness deals in absolutes when it come making information public.

We have more actual resevres that are Capped and not producing than we have consumed in the last 50 years. We still have such a huge abunadance of it is flared off where it is a nusance to oil production.

They just found anouther multiy billion barrel Oil Sands Feild Near North Battleford Sask this past summer That is suitable for strip mining and this area has had almost 50 years worth of Oil Exploration done all over it. Will this be included in Proven Oil resevres nope not a chance and proboly wil not be until it has 4 or 5 years or more of production time behind it.

 

And once again do not belive every thing that you read.

Exactly!

The greenback has slid against nearly every other currency in the world.

In Aussie Terms Oil is still AUS$100/barrel - same as it has been all year.

The interesting fact is that in the US, at least where I live at, Gas is about 2.55 a gallon, where as last year after Katrina it was about 20-30 cents more a gallon, yet the price for Oil is about 15 dollars more then it was then!

I don't think that's true. If people have to pay more for gas, they won't buy the bigger cars anyway, so they're either going to lose any hope of profit on larger cars, or make them more efficient anyway. Take as evidence what happened over the last few years as gas prices rose.

 

But if the fuel economy figures that have been dribbling out about the TF (40 MPG highway, 30 MPG City Fusion!) are anywhere near true, Ford should have no problem meeting future CAFE.

 

Are those numbers accurate (or close to at least)?

 

If so, that's VERY impressive. I see Fusion sales jumping higher fairly quickly if these numbers are true, along w/ the new exterior/interior designs.
