Roadrunner
Look: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-ford-f-150-1/578205/ I especially like this one: http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog...tinum_09_hr.jpg as it brings a return to the chrome strip at the back. If BON has similar coverage, pull this post and point me in the right direction. Looks like they're all press release images.

Sixt9coug
I still like it. A Black FX4 would be killer. Im sure we can find a solution to the ugly tailgate emblem soon enough. The Platinum tailgate trim is too 1988 Bronco for me. other than that its still nice. Even the tail lights have grown on me a bit.

rmc523
Badass Truck! Can can we get a photo of four 09' F-150's drawing and quartering a Tundra? I saw the strangest thing today.....a Tundra towing a trailer!!! I forgot to look for body flex, bed to cab collision, tailgate problems, etc. though. At least the emblem serves a purpose (reverse camera). Maybe models without the camera will have flush emblems like now? I agree, I don't think the taillights look bad, especially in that picture Roadrunner highlighted.

mettech
I need a front bench seat in my trucks. Will that be an option in the F-150? I hope the SD keeps them.

Well, the center console is still optional, so I imagine so is a bench seat.
Ford Jellymoulds
I gotta say the new F-150 looks awesome, does anybody know what will replace the Ranger in Europe when production ends? Will Ford be making a smaller new F-Series pick-up for Europe, and why are Ford not selling the F-Series in Russia & China as Land Rover can't keep up with demand, and are making bucket loads of money from sales of Range Rovers there at the moment, and are selling next to nothing in Europe and the US, fuel is the same price as the US in Russia so it could be a big export market for FOA with it's F-Series, Mustang and Escape, Lincolns & Mercury gas guzzling vehicles. Mondeo sales l think will double in 2008 due to the fact that they are opening up another new production line in Russia. I think you're giving the strength of the Russian economy a little too much credit. The weakness of the Russian economy likely plays a large role in Ford's unwillingness to sell many of their bigger ticket items there. There's certainly potential there for a future market, but the average Russian currently isn't going to have $20,000+ to plunk down on a new Ford. Now, a replacement Ranger may make a very good vehicle for the Russian market though.

What no Fords no can do? http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nb20070528ve.html No, I'm not out of touch at all. To expect a NEW entry into an emerging market to double the sales of a vehicle would be ludicrous. Even those Camry sales aren't all that impressive based on the population of Russia. I didn't say Ford SHOULDN'T sell the Mondeo there, but expecting it to double the Mondeo's sales anytime soon is silly. LR's sales there are completely irrelevant to this topic also. Should Ford be chasing after some super-low market share for vehicles like the F-series and Mustang there? No. It doesn't make sense for volume vehicles like that, especially when they would have to be imported from pretty far away. It makes more sense for LR since they already thrive on niche markets as it is.

Ford announced this month that it would nearly double its Russian manufacturing capacity at a plant outside of St. Petersburg that makes Focus cars, to 125,000 vehicles per year from 72,000 last year. Russia is NOT going to double the Mondeo's sales anytime soon. I would wager heavily on it. Will they sell tens of thousands? Quite possibly. Would that double its sales? No. Not even close. Heck, they are only increasing Focus production to 125,000 units-- at a MUCH lower price point than the Mondeo would have. And sales of a cheap Focus are a FAR cry from what sales would be of a potential Mustang or F-series which would cost WELL north of TWICE as much. Is it a good market for Ford to be in? Absolutely-- but only with the RIGHT products.

Land Rover have just help turn around a 300 million loss to a 500 million profit by selling into Russia & China, in Europe and the US their sales are falling like a lead balloon, we shall see at the end of 2008 if sales of Mondeo's have improved Nick.
