New Mustang Spyshots

That Mustang is being driven down Oakwood Blvd in Dearborn, likely to the test track. I never understood why they waste the time and money on a custom cover to disguise these things when they could just throw it in a trailer to transport it to the track or some other more remote road.

Why would they waste the time and money to trailer it when they can just drive the 1.5 miles from SVT to the Development Center?

It would take more time and cost more money to have custom covers made then to roll it into a small covered trailer. And you wouldn't have to worry about the spyshots nearly as much which can be priceless.

It doesn't really matter whether the covered vehicles are exposed or not. Drive down Oakwood one day and you'll see TONS of camo'd vehicles sitting in the lots.

There are also the intangible benefits. Here we are, talking about the 2010 Mustang, because of a spy photo that really doesn't give away much of anything. Would we be having this conversation if the spy picture didn't exist? Probably not. Spy pics, when of a properly disguised vehicle, probably do very little to upset the manufacturer and likely work pretty well as a form of viral marketing.

Road testing, or air cooling testing are likely reasons.
