I have been driving vans with the same dash for 13 years now, and would wait until 2009 to order a new one if they would change the dash. Also, does anyone know if Sync will be offered? Thanks for any insight. I heard something about that (interior) and I think it must be true. I'm not sure about sync, but Ford Work Solutions will be offered. The slight exterior upgrade was good, and the re-release of the 6.0L was good, but delivering and ordered unit and still seeing the exact same interior as one I have with 50k miles on the pre-owned lot, it pretty disappointing... I can not post an actual pic because it could potentially cost me my job, but it mimics the Expedition Dash only the words E-Series is moled into the passenger side of the dash. Also they added in the passenger side glove box which was lost in the last major redesign. Here is a pic of the 08' Expedition dash that the new E-Series dash mimics! Once the new model is officially released I will post some actual PICS! I think you will like it. Probably Aug. of 08' As far as the drivetrain I have not heard ,although I know we have 6 speed trannies available in our F-Series and would not doubt it will be an option. In case you did not know there were plenty of chasis upgrades in 08' over the 07' model that increased the payload of the E-Series by an additional 450 lbs. A couple of other changes I know for sure are coming to the 09' model are , back-up cameras, and navigation systems. I think this interior looks good, but I too find it unacceptable that the steering wheel was leftover from the old model. Other than that, good job Ford! Also the dash looks better with the Navigational system in it! I just think it's ridiculous....as another poster said, how can you overlook the steering wheel on a refresh? All they have to do is bolt on the Super Duty/Expedition steering wheel and column shifter...problem solved. I don't remember if I said this above (I think I may have said it in one of the lost posts), but I'd think it'd actually be cheaper to have a new steering wheel put in....because it'll cost money to keep producing that steering wheel for ONE vehicle (Econ), while they could use a steering wheel being used by several vehicles. Economies of scale.... I can live with the climate control switches, but that steering wheel has got to go!
