McCain Camp Hiding Palin From Sunday News Shows

RED HERRING!

Nancy Pelosi would only be in line if both the President and VP were killed together or in very close succession. The VP would pick a new VP upon assuming the Presidency just as Johnson and Ford did.

Do you really think for a moment that Palin would go on either Oprah or Ellen. BTW I'm sure Ellen would have her on since she had McCain as a guest and was very respectful about their differences on gay marriage.

Please be serious. Up until Friday she wasn't going to do any interviews. She wouldn't even go on Fox or Larry King. It will be interesting to see what she does say with Charlie Gibson. As far as I'm concerned she owes the people an explanation of her views and her history before she should be considered for VP.

Hehehehehehehehehe, Check it out, Mz Winfrey REFUSES to have her!!!!!! (and states it PUBLICLY) Of course, she is a Barack supporter, but I would think since she is media...............well, shows ya what politics has come down to.

As far as she owes the people an explanation------------->explanation of what? Seems to me, her record is quite clear on what she has done, why she did it, and what she thinks.

She has stated unequivacably, DRILL, DRILL, DRILL. She has shown reform by quitting her own party, then throwing those bums out. She has shown CHARACTER OF CONVICTION, unlike your guy who votes exclusively for democrats. (think he would quit in protest? NOT, lololol)

Who needs an explanation is Mr Obama if you ask me.

If Sarah is NOT qualified by YOUR standards, then you better run Biden cause Mr Obama is less qualified than she is. It was a trap sprung on you by the silver fox, and you guys fell for it hook, line, and sinker. You people look like a bunch of teenagers running around with baggy pants with your cracks hanging out in front of Wall Street, proclaiming that the person in the suit and tie is not qualified, lololol. Do you understand that the reason she is there is to show her experience is lacking; and yet exponentially more than YOUR LEAD CANDIDATE!!!!! It is addition by subtraction. Absolutely BRILLIANT. And she has a record that even Dems would like, of throwing out Republicans, lolol. Toast, toast!!!!!! Your guys are incinerated bread, lolololol!!!!!

I am going to sit here smugly and let you scream at me, knowing full well that unless your people can come up with something, Mr Obama is BURNT TOAST!!!! He has been smoked for whatever reason (probably his wife) by not choosing Hilly. He can't even figure out how to counter Sarah as VP choice, and the pols are showing that he is slipping as far as taking care of the security of the country. (Gee, wonder why, lolol. Community service translates into Commander and Chief, doesn't it)

I know that it is not over till the fat lady sings my friend, but by all reports, ROSIE O'DONNEL is practicing her version of taps for the dems come November. They can't explain away the no drilling policy or the obstructionist bull that has been going on since they have been in the ECO TERRORISTS POCKETS, and for all intensive purposes, that equals LANDSLIDE!!!!!!

Watch what is coming from Mcain and Sarah, and you will also cringe at how obvious it will be made for all America to see, lolololololol.

And to think---------->I have the ECO TERRORISTS, goofy liberals, Hillary Clinton, (for not winning) and ALL the dem voters for putting up a far less than qualified candidate with no experience, all because they thought it was a slamdunk, and he was the LIBERAL MESSIAH!!!!!! (it is all to good, really it is. I actually feel sorry for ya as a democrat. Maybe guys like YOU ought to try to wrest control so as you get a mainstream candidate who actually can win)

And I would especially like to thank Michelle (I am not proud of country) Obama, for icing Mz Clinton for VP. Were it not for the fact she wears the pants in the family, we never woulda got Sarah.

I LOVE ALL YA, hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!! Keep it up!!!!!!!!!! You are the biggest help we have had in years!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the history on McCain. Now how about filling in the blanks for Obama. Tell us about him sitting in Wright's church for 20 years, you remember, "God Damn America", or tell us about Bill Ayers or his communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis. There's more!
Don't know if he was actually there for Wright's bullshit sermons, and I'm actually interested to find out if he was there. As far as Ayers and Davis, how did Mark B. Morrow describe a different post...oh, yea..complete red herring. I have two relatives who have passed away, one uncle who was an avowed socialist, and a cousin in Europe who was a member of his country's communist party. Am I responsible for their opinions?

Why are the liberals soooo against McCain? Look at his voting record. They should be kissing the ground he walks on. The choice of Palin was to bring the real conservatives aboard. And it seems to be working according to the polls. Hell, I would rather vote for a Palin/ McCain ticket.

http://article.nationalreview.com/print/?q...TY5NTZiOGNhOGQ=

The McCain domestic record is a disaster. To say he fought spending, most particularly earmarks, is to nibble around the edges and miss the heart of the matter. For starters, consider:

McCain-Feingold — the most brazen frontal assault on political speech since Buckley v. Valeo.

McCain-Kennedy — the most far-reaching amnesty program in American history.

McCain-Lieberman — the most onerous and intrusive attack on American industry — through reporting, regulating, and taxing authority of greenhouse gases — in American history.

McCain-Kennedy-Edwards — the biggest boon to the trial bar since the tobacco settlement, under the rubric of a patients’ bill of rights.

McCain-Reimportation of Drugs — a significant blow to pharmaceutical research and development, not to mention consumer safety (hey Rudy, pay attention, see link).

And McCain’s stated opposition to the Bush 2001 and 2003 tax cuts was largely based on socialist, class-warfare rhetoric — tax cuts for the rich, not for the middle class. The public record is full of these statements. Today, he recalls only his insistence on accompanying spending cuts.

As chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, McCain was consistently hostile to American enterprise, from media and pharmaceutical companies to technology and energy companies.

McCain also led the Gang of 14, which prevented the Republican leadership in the Senate from mounting a rule change that would have ended the systematic use (actual and threatened) of the filibuster to prevent majority approval of judicial nominees.

And then there’s the McCain defense record.

His supporters point to essentially one policy strength, McCain’s early support for a surge and counterinsurgency. It has now evolved into McCain taking credit for forcing the president to adopt General David Petreaus’s strategy. Where’s the evidence to support such a claim?

Moreover, Iraq is an important battle in our war against the Islamo-fascist threat. But the war is a global war, and it most certainly includes the continental United States, which, after all, was struck on 9/11. How does McCain fare in that regard?

McCain-ACLU — the unprecedented granting of due-process rights to unlawful enemy combatants (terrorists).

McCain has repeatedly called for the immediate closing of Guantanamo Bay and the introduction of al-Qaeda terrorists into our own prisons — despite the legal rights they would immediately gain and the burdens of managing such a dangerous population.

While McCain proudly and repeatedly points to his battles with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who had to rebuild the U.S. military and fight a complex war, where was McCain in the lead-up to the war — when the military was being dangerously downsized by the Clinton administration and McCain’s friend, former Secretary of Defense Bill Cohen? Where was McCain when the CIA was in desperate need of attention? Also, McCain was apparently in the dark about al-Qaeda like most of Washington, despite a decade of warnings.

Then you better pray that both McCain and Palin get prepped real good for the debates, because that can turn the election one way or the other. I don't see McCain being able to debate well on the economy, and you know that the media you're railing against is in charge of the questions. Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill, Tom Brokaw, Bob Schieffer. Let's see who get's the last laugh.

Of course not. You also did not chose to be related to them either. Obama had a choice and it was wrong. You need to do more investigating, it all there.

Hey IMA

Really looking foward to the things that about to come out on the Anneberg papers that have been held by the college library of the Illinois of Chicago. There is like 90 linear feet of paperwork, but it shows how well Ayers and Obama as Co-chairs gave out money to schools. Many with radical idealogies that the media will not cover, like the Acorn Group. Also money was funneled to schools that Ayers had started himself,to be able to teach his hippie radical anti-america crap. The fund was run so poorly that it ran out of funds and was disolved. You have 50 million to start with and you can't manage it,and you expect me to vote for him.

Also go and look up Public Allies,my brother-n-law who lives in Chicago told me about this group and he is a diehard liberal. And he has seen this group in action, and they are very aggressive in there idealogies. They are involved in organizing alot of the public protests,or help other groups.

Alaskans Speak (In A Frightened Whisper):

Palin Is "Racist, Sexist, Vindictive, And Mean"

September 5, 2008

by Charley James -

"So Sambo beat the bitch!"

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama's win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrats’ primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

"It was kind of disgusting," Lucille, who is part Aboriginal, said in a phone interview after admitting that she is frightened of being discovered telling folks in the "lower 48" about life near the North Pole.

Then, almost with a sigh, she added, "But that's just Alaska."

Racial and ethnic slurs may be "just Alaska" and, clearly, they are common, everyday chatter for Palin.

Besides insulting Obama with a Step-N'-Fetch-It, "darkie musical" swipe, people who know her say she refers regularly to Alaska's Aboriginal people as "Arctic Arabs" - how efficient, lumping two apparently undesirable groups into one ugly description - as well as the more colorful "mukluks" along with the totally unimaginative "f**king Eskimo's," according to a number of Alaskans and Wasillians interviewed for this article.

But being openly racist is only the tip of the Palin iceberg. According to Alaskans interviewed for this article, she is also vindictive and mean. We're talking Rove mean and Nixon vindictive.

No wonder the vast sea of white, cheering faces at the Republican Convention went wild for Sarah: They adore the type, it's in their genetic code. So much for McCain's pledge of a "high road" campaign; Palin is incapable of being part of one.

Tough Getting People Who Know Her to Talk

It's not easy getting people in the 49th state to speak critically about Palin - especially people in Wasilla, where she was mayor. For one thing, with every journalist in the world calling, phone lines into Alaska have been mostly jammed since Friday; as often as not, a recording told me that "all circuits are busy" or numbers just wouldn't ring. I should think a state that's been made richer than God by oil could afford telephone lines and cell towers for everyone.

On a more practical level, many people in Alaska, and particularly Wasilla, are reluctant to speak or be quoted by name because they're afraid of her as well as the state Republican Party machine. Apparently, the power elite are as mean as the winters.

"The GOP is kind of like organized crime up here," an insurance agent in Anchorage who knows the Palin family, explained. "It's corrupt and arrogant. They're all rich because they do private sweetheart deals with the oil companies, and they can destroy anyone. And they will, if they have to."

"Once Palin became mayor," he continued, "She became part of that inner circle."

Like most other people interviewed, he didn't want his name used out of fear of retribution. Maybe it's the long winter nights where you don't see the sun for months that makes people feel as if they're under constant danger from "the authorities." As I interviewed residents it began sounding as if living in Alaska controlled by the state Republican Party is like living in the old Soviet Union: See nothing that's happening, say nothing offensive, and the political commissars leave you alone. But speak out and you get disappeared into a gulag north of theArctic Circle for who-knows-how-long.

Alright, that's an exaggeration brought on by my getting too little sleep and building too much anger as I worked this article. But there's ample evidence of Palin's vindictive willingness to destroy people she sees as opponents. Just ask the Wasilla town administrator she hired before firing him because he rebelled against the way Palin demanded he do his job, or the town librarian who refused to hold the book burning Walpurgisnacht Mayor Palin demanded.

Ironically, Palin was pushed into hiring the administrator by the party poobahs who helped get her elected after she got herself into trouble over a number of precipitous firings which gave rise to a recall campaign.

"People who fought her attempt to oust the librarian are on her enemies list to this day," states Anne Kilkenny, a Wasilla resident and one of the few Alaskans willing to speak on-the-record, for attribution, about Palin. In fact, Kilkenny actually circulated an e-mail letter about Palin that was verified and printed by The Nation.

For good measure, Palin booted the Wasilla police chief from office because, she told a local newspaper, he "intimidated" her.

Running on Extreme Fringe Evangelical Views

Sarah Palin drew early attention from state GOP apparatchiks when, during her first mayoral campaign, she ran on an anti-abortion platform. Normally, political parties do not get involved in Alaskan municipal elections because they are nonpartisan. But once word of her extreme fringe evangelical views made its way to Juneau, the state capitol, state Republicans tossed some money behind her campaign.

Once in office, Palin set out to build a machine that chewed up anyone who got in her way. The good, Godly Christian turns out to be anything but.

"She's doesn't like different opinions and she refuses to compromise," Kilkenny notes. "When she was mayor, she fought ideas that weren't hers. Worse, ideas weren't evaluated on their merits but on the basis of who proposed them."

Sound familiar? Palin may well be Dick Cheney's reincarnate.

Something else has a familiar Republican ring to it: Her tax policies, and a "refund surpluses but borrow for the future" attitude.

According to Kilkenny and others in Wasilla as well as Juneau, Palin reduced progressive property taxes for businesses while mayor and increased a regressive sales tax which even hits necessities such as food. The tax cuts she promoted in her St. Paul speech actually benefited large corporate property owners far more than they benefited residents. Indeed, Kilkenny insists that many Wasilla home owners actually saw their tax bill skyrocket to make up for the shortfall. Two other Wasillian's with whom I spoke said property taxes on their modest, three bedroom homes rose during the Palin regime.

To an outsider, it would seem hard to do, but an oil-rich town with zero debt on the day she was inaugurated mayor was left saddled with $22 million of debt by the time she moved away to become governor - especially since nothing was spent on things such as improving the city's infrastructure or building a much-needed sewage treatment plant. So what did Mayor Palin spend the taxpayer's money on, if not fixing streets and scrubbing sewage?

For starters, she remodeled her office. Several times over, as a matter of fact.

Then Palin spent $1 million on an unnecessary, new park that no one other than the contractors and Palin seemed to want. Next, Sarah doled out more than $15 million of taxpayer money for a sports complex that she shoved through even though the city did not own clear title to the land; now, seven years later, the matter is still in litigation and lawyer fees are said to be close to at least half of the original estimated price of the facility.

She also worked hard to get voters approval of a $5.5 million bond proposal for roads that could have been built without borrowing. Anchorage may not be the center of the financial universe but, like good Republicans everywhere, Sarah Palin knows how to please Alaskan bankers and bond dealers.

For good measure, she turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores and disconnected parking lots.

Sarah Barracuda

En route to the governor's igloo, Palin managed to land what Anne Kilkenny says is the plumb political appointment in the state: Chair of Alaska's Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (OGCC), a $122,400 per year patronage slot with no real authority to do anything other than hold meetings. She took the job despite having no background in energy issues and, as it turned out, not liking the work.

"She hated the job," an OGCC staff member who is not authorized to speak with the news media told me. "She hated the hours and she hated what little work there was to do. But she couldn't figure out a way to get out of the thing without offending Gov. Murkowski" and the state Republican Party regulars, some of whom were pissed off they didn't get appointed.

But ever the opportunist, Palin quickly concocted a way. First, she waged a campaign with the local news media claiming that the position was overpaid and should be abolished - despite the fact that she lobbied Murkowski hard to get it. Then, mounting what she saw as a white horse, Palin raised a cloud of dust by resigning from the OGCC and riding away with an undeserved reputation as a "reformer."

But when a local reporter dared to suggest that the reformer Empress has no clothes, Palin tried to get her fired.

"She came at me like I was trying to steal her kids," said the targeted reporter, who now works for an oil company in Anchorage. "I heard she had a wild temper and vicious mean streak but it's nothing like you can imagine until she turns it on you."

Not surprising since some of her high school classmates still openly call her "Sarah Barracuda," Kilkenny insists.

Still, as a Republican Party hack Palin managed to get herself elected running under the false flag of a "reformer."

And what did she bring to the job? No legislative experience other than a city council of a village of 5,000 people, which is smaller than some high schools in Chicago. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; after all, she needed to hire a city administrator to run Wasilla. No executive experience, except for almost being recalled as mayor. A philosophy of setting public policy based on one word: No.

And what has she done since winning the job?

According to Kilkenny, nothing. Well, nothing other than suggesting the state's multi-multi-million dollar, oil-generated surplus be distributed to residents and finance future state needs by borrowing money. Gee, doesn't that sound precisely what George Bush did with the surplus he inherited from Bill Clinton in 2001 and we all know in what great shape Bush's economic policies left the nation.

It may explain why, when asked by reporters, including me, what she thought about Palin being picked to be McCain's running mate, her mother-in-law replied with a sardonic, "What has Sarah done to qualify her to be vice president?" Of course, when the woman - said by many I spoke with to be well-respected in Wasilla - was running to succeed Palin as mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her, so that may explain the family tension.

As Governor, Palin gave the legislature no direction and budget guidelines, according to the chair of a legislative committee. But then she staged a huge grandstand play of line-item vetoing countless projects, calling them pork. "They were restored because of public outcry and legislative action," the aide said. "She vetoed them mostly because she had no idea what they were or why they were important."

But it was enough to get the McCain, who is mostly unobservant of the world around him anyway, to think Palin has a reputation as being "anti-pork".

In fact, Juneau observers note that Palin kept her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork ladled out by indicted Sen. Ted Stevens. She only opposed the "bridge to nowhere" after it became clear that it would be politically unwise to keep supporting it, these same insiders assert. Then, Palin fell back on her old habits and publicly humiliated him for pork-barrel politics.

As for being "ready on day one" to be commander in chief, despite the repeated public claims she's made, the Alaska National Guard commander said that, "she has made no command decisions, other than sending some troops to help fight a few brush fires and march in parades at county fairs."

"Sambo Beat the Bitch"

"Palin is a conniving, manipulative, a**hole," someone who thinks these are positive traits in a governor told me, summing up Palin's tenure in Alaska state and local politics.

"She's a bigot, a racist, and a liar," is the more blunt assessment of Arnold Gerstheimer who lived in Alaska until two years ago and is now a businessman in Idaho.

"Juneau is a small town; everybody knows everyone else," he adds. "These stories about what she calls blacks and Eskimos, well, anyone not white and good looking actually, were around long before she became a glint in John McCain's rheumy eyes. Why do I know they're true? Because everyone who isn't aboriginal or Indian inAlaska talks that way."

"Sambo beat the bitch" may be everyday language up in the bush. Whether it - and the outlook, politics and worldview Palin reflects when she says such things in public - should be part of a presidential campaign is another thing altogether. The comment says as much about McCain as it does about Palin, and it says a lot of things about Americans who overlook such statements (as well as her record) and vote anyway for McCain.

Who is McCain going to owe?

The McCain-Lobbyist Connection

And for those of you that think being

makes McCain qualified to be Pres

You'll also hear about his McNasty reputation. My question to you is do we really want someone that can "go off like a roman candle" with the power to push the red button? LINK

And for those that think that bringing up Rev Wright is a good tactic, you might to search on youtube for "Palin - church" (frankly, I don't think where one goes to church is a valid agrument).

But there is:

Sarah and Todd Palin are former members of the Alaskan Independence Party, whose motto is "Alaska First — Alaska Always."

The controversy is over how hard the party has pushed for independence from the United States. But it gets a whole lot better than that.

According to Lynette Clark, a top party official, the Palins were members in 1994, and attended the party's statewide convention, in Wasilla, that year. Sarah Palin quit the party in 1996 in order to run for mayor of Wasilla; there is no indication of when she first joined.

Why are these dates important? Because party founder Joe Vogler, who was chairman right up until his death in 1993, was a "sulphurous" presence known for his "'America be damned' rhetoric delivered at D-9-cat decibels," according to an Anchorage Daily News editorial published in 1998.

America be damned? Gee, who does that remind you of? And could the Palins have been ignorant of Vogler's views in 1994?

To this day, the Alaskan Independence Party's Web site proudly carries the following quote from Vogler: "I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions." And Tapper found that Palin had sent a video message to the party's annual convention just last year.

Doesn't sound like the McCain campaign (and Steve Schmidt) are going to be able to bring up Wright anymore lest they open up this can of worms.

It will also be interesting to see how McCain/Palin handle this little fact (the Queen of pork barrel) and the fact that he had criticized her 3 times in recent times. Is this what he meant by, "... and I'll let you know who they are . . . and make their names famous?" (or something to that effect).

The debates should be interesting.

My good man, please refrain from hoping.

Let us have a serious look at this, and you can look up if my facts are correct, along with decide if my logic.......is well, logical.

Mr Mcain is a TERRIBLE speaker when it comes to giving a speech. In fact, it would NOT surprise me if his acceptance speech was the best one he has ever given, and that almost put me to sleep.............and I was excited, lol. I am would be shocked to discover that more than 10% of the people who started watching it, stayed awake till it was over. SUCH is John Mcain. But he got through it!!!!!

To bad for liberals though, while he can't speak forceibly while giving a speech, he is excellent at debate. I know it sounds like I am stretching, but it is fact.

And now to Mr Obama. Mr Obama is the exact opposite of Mr Mcain. His speeches are perfect. He delivers them with aplomb. His mannerisms make you believe that HE believes what he is saying; and he very well might.

Now go ahead and look at his debates that were held for office. Check the archives of the Chicago Suntimes or Tribune. If I am not mistaken he had 2, or 3, and all entitys said he lost badly..........including radio reports given by political pundits in the area. The thing was, nobody watched. In fact, it was on public access stations. This did not affect him.

Go ahead and try and think nobody will watch these!!!!! And while I agree that it will be much easier to turn a poor debater into a better one instead of improving a poor speech giver, if they do manage it, he will still be behind the curve and will be unable to match a seasoned veteran. (if they managed to even improve him)

As far as Mz Palin, you will be playing with a football team of 9 or 10 against 11 with this one. Joe Biden could very well be better than Mz Palin, I do not know, nor do I claim to. But he has to be on eggshells. Since her nomination, the female vote swing has been 20 points towards Mz Palin. If he wins and looks overbearing, he will lose another 10 points for being a neandrathal. If he wins and looks like he was mean, he will lose male votes of protection. If he wins without doing anything wrong, then the question will revert back to Obama, Mcain. And if he LOSES????? My friend, it is KATIE BAR THE DOOR!!!!!

He shoulda chose Hilly. On such things do political races revolve upon. If he loses, (and it looks like he will) he has nobody but himself to blame. I know it, you know it, and everyone with a lick of sense knows it. It will not be Republican dirty tricks, nor Fox News bias, or anything but OBAMAS mishandling of the VP choice, and his opinion that he did not need her.

If I know it woulda got him elected, and you know it woulda got him elected, and the media knows it woulda got him elected, then he knew it too; was just to overconfident that he did not need her. And if that ends up being the final outcome, thank him, and do NOT whine to the rest of us who support Mcain.

If he actually believes his road was the best solution to help America, then loving this country he woulda CEMENTED the deal to get elected. Obviously, he didn't think enough of his constituents to do it, and fortunately for us Mr Mcain did and got us Sarah.

Good for us, all bad for you, GREAT for America!

You forgot to mention that you served in Vietnam, like you usually do.

Oh, sorry Floyd.

Hey, you remind of some of those base camp warriors (BCWs) and rear echelon MFers (REMFs) that I ran into in Nam. . . when my platoon got dropped off at a fire base, after being in the jungle for 40 days, only to insist that before we took our (cold) shower, that we go out and clear out the boobie traps outside the wire for them – cause they were too scared to do so – and then pull burm guard for them because their BCWs always fell asleep.

Actually, that reminds me of another story. When my guys pulled guard in the bunkers, there were always rats as big as cats in there because when us grunts came in from the field we'd be forced to pull guard for the BCWs and they would take all sorts of food with them to the bunkers (food was an unusual luxury). To amuse themselves, they would place blasting caps (for a claymore mine) in a piece of food on the floor. Now we always slept in GI hammocks (off the floor) and when they would hear the teeth of the rat hit the aluminum blasting cap – BOOOM! Squeeze the clapper (which generated the juice to fire the cap and mine) and rat head got blasted everywhere.

The BCWs would come running out of their houches like we were under attack . . . ! Oh, it was a riot to see and we'd laugh for hours on end.

Now back to your regularly scheduled political arguments (some with facts . . .some not so much)

Gov. Sarah Palin's church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer.

"I think gay Republicans are going to run away" if Palin supports efforts like the prayers to convert gays, said Wayne Besen, founder of the New York-based Truth Wins Out, a gay rights advocacy group. Besen called on Palin to publicly express her views now that she's a vice presidential nominee.

"People are looking at Sarah Palin as someone who might feasibly be in the White House," he said.

McCain may be is out of touch, but by embracing the extreme right, and a woman who IMHO is F#$%ing nuts (no wonder they are keeping her under lock and key until she's debriefed and sanitized) he is showing his desperate bid for GOP favor.

McNasty and the Pit Bull with lipstick....what a pair! 4 years of that pair and we'll wish for the glory days of GWB :finger:

He will owe the liberal media,hollywierd,enviro-nazis and Nancy Pelosi led socialist/marxist led regime.

But most of all the George Soros led Daily Kos,Move On regime.

Thats a start anyway

I wonder if McCain owes him also???

John McCain: George Soros' Useful Idiot?

The McCain-Feingold legislation was an idea devised by the brilliant Mr. Soros.

When Soros was looking for a vehicle to bring this scheme to fruition, who was standing with his hand extended? Senator John McCain. And, richly rewarded he was. During the 2000 political season John McCain and Russ Feingold attended the two so-called ‘Shadow Conventions’ that Soros sponsored. McCain, who is desperately attempting to retain his false title of ‘Republican’, was the keynote speaker at the ultra-liberal Philadelphia convention while Feingold spoke at the Los Angeles event. Low and behold, in 2001, John McCain founded the Reform Institute largely funded by a huge donation from George Soros’ Open Society Institute and his Tides Foundation.

Most damning is McCain's Reform Institute fellow, Juan Hernandez, who is an open-border lobbyist and former Mexican government cabinet member. Working for Presidente Vicente Fox, he was the Director of the Office of Mexicans Living Abroad. He is described in his bio at McCain’s Reform Institute as being an American, but actually has dual citizenship with Mexico and has feverishly lobbied for amnesty. Juan Hernandez with his extremist views on illegal immigration and open borders, is also the John McCain presidential campaign’s Hispanic Outreach Director. One does not have to be a rocket scientist to see that McCain has never veered off of his path to amnesty.

A little known fact is that McCain has quietly endorsed George Soros’ anti-2nd amendment gun control position, going so far as to do an advertisement for the Soros funded pro-gun control group, Americans for Gun Safety. Campaigning against gun shows to promote the McCain-Lieberman Gun Show Control Bill of 2004, the advertisement carried multiple misleading statements as explained by Dave Kopel writing in the National Review Online in an article titled, “Gun Games: Truth is a casuality of the anti-gun cause.†The McCain-Lieberman Gun Show Law would have greatly expanded the Brady Bill and the Bureau of Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) while continuing to fund new gun control laws. Important to note is that the highly respected Gun Owners of America has been exposing McCain’s anti-2nd Amendment agenda for quite some time. Read GOA’s Take on John McCain and John McCain’s Gun Control Problem. Prior to 2000, the beginning of his relationship with Soros, McCain went from being a supporter of the 2nd Amendment to being a lead sponsor of anti-gun bills.

McCain has consistently taken positions against Republicans and Conservatives in Congress, often flip-flopping on formerly Conservative positions. Do Republicans want their Presidential nominee, this so-called ‘Maverick’ McCain, who is beholden to the likes of the George Soros and what many believe is a campaign against our US Constitution and sovereignty?

In my opinion executive experience isn't a requirement. McCain doesn't have any so I assume you don't think it is a prerequsite either. If I am wrong then by your argument she should be at the top of the Republican ticket since McCain doesn't have any executive experience.

First, you say her executive experience is little or none, then you follow up by saying "In my opinion executive experience isn't a requirement".

What IS a qualification to you? being a Democrat?

I don't think Palin's spotty executive experience qualifies her for the VP or Presidency. BTW what exactly do you think McCain will need to consult with Palin about in the Whitehouse? Is he going to rely on her for advice on dealing with Russia? The Economy? Tax policy? You do know that she raised taxes in Wasilla. What does she bring to the table in terms of governing? Not just rallying the base.

Given that Obama has no experience with any of the topics you specify, I find it more disconcerting that a President Obama would need Biden, more than McCain would need Palin.

Remember the ticket is McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden.

They preferred Hillary or some other candidate over Obama. McCain lost several primaries to Huckabee. That doesn't make McCain voters wrong. They just preferred someone else. Why is that so hard to understand?

I understand perfectly. What YOU don't understand is that you can't justify Obama as President by saying that 18 million people voted for him in the Democratic primary. You are citing "evidence" that doesn't support your case. Stick to the issues.

I voted for Huckabee, over McCain, but now my choices are McCain or Obama. Between those two options, McCain is the more sensible.

On October 11, 2006 The Washington Post revealed that Wallace had been a registered Democrat for more than two decades. Wallace explained his party affiliation in terms of pragmatism, insisting that being a Democrat is the only feasible means of participating in the political process in heavily Democratic Washington, D.C.

All you have done here is confirm what I have said. If it is your intent to subvert what I have said, you haven't done it with that statement.

Given the number of outright misstatements included in Palin's speech at the convention and on her stump speech since then, I am happy that he is answering her untrue charges that he hasn't passed one piece of legislation in the senate. See Colburn-Obama ethics reform and Lugar-Obama nuclear weapons legislation as examples. There are others.

In the interest of full disclosure.

The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, co-sponsored by U.S. Sens. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Tom Coburn, R-Okla., requires the government to set up a free, searchable Web site listing all entities receiving federal grants, contracts or other monetary awards of $25,000 or more.

The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act expands U.S. cooperation to destroy conventional weapons. It also expands the State Department's ability to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction. Basically it provides funding for destruction of conventional, and un-conventional weapons.

The first sets up a website, and the second is essentially a re-hashing of a previous bill. But admittedly they were passed into law.

I don't find them terribly compelling. Your opinion obviously differs.

....the religious right....a .....person who is way more conservative than even he is. Some of her extremely conservative statements and actions from the past scare the heck out of me. So....sure....let's see what she really believes now. Give her a chance.

Which part bothers you more, the religion or the conservatism? As we have been shown, you can't equate one with the other.

My future is mostly up to me.

A truer (conservative) statement was never uttered.

Be careful what you wish for. Remember Saddleback, and also realize that Palin out-"debated" her former opponents (all incumbents).

I give Biden even odds, especially if he can keep his foot out of his mouth (Palin is much smarter than most give her credit for, and her ability to connect with the audience is a distinct advantage. Remember she gave her speech with impromptu inserts when her teleprompter failed. The "lipstick" comment was one of them. This may seem like fluff, but she pulled off a 20-point swing with the women vote).

Obama has demonstrated his inability to speak clearly and concisely. Obama is John Kerry on steroids when it comes to obfuscation. (although, I'm sure he will be coached heavily)

Case in point, "So Sambo beat the Bitch". Attributed to a waitress who refused to be identified (other than Lucille). ONE person, and only one person.

So you are saying that Palin is a racist, and the 80% of Alaskans who approve of her are complicit.

Please, keep it coming.

I have even less respect for flip-flop McCain now, after the Palin nom.

Did you catch this "flip-flip":

Durning his speech at the RNC, McCain drew applause with this line:

McCain: We must use all resources and develop all technologies necessary to rescue our economy from the damage caused by rising oil prices and restore the health of our planet.

But then, just the night before, Palin slammed Obama by saying this:

Palin, Sept. 3: What does he actually seek to accomplish after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet?

No hypocrisy there...
