duanesz
naba acknowledged that Toyota vehicles had often lacked "passion" and that the company's vehicles must be "more exciting, more nimble." "Toyota is a good car but not exciting. Those are the comments we usually (or) always get," Inaba said. This is the kind of stuff that they were saying about ford not to long ago. All I can say is now your in the big leagues Toyota. Now that your a full line manufacturer with a car or truck in every segment its a little harder to control things. To all of Toyota employees get ready now its your turn for the ass pounding
Stugots
Maybe now those dumb ass workers would vote yes to unionize. For years we the UAW have been pointed at by these foreign bastards as THE main reason the big 3 struggled. Well now look at ya! You're struggling. You're bleeding cash. You wish you had a union to help you. Will you be offered buyouts? Do you have transfer agreements and call back rights? You're not in a union, so kiss your jobs goodbye. Maybe some of the laid off workers can get a job with one of the big 3 as new hires for $14/hour or Shelby or Corker could hire them. electrocutioner
Yea,I can see it now. Toyota workers must lower their pay to remain profitable.Wait, what's that? How will Ford compete with these new low wages? Why Mr.President/Prime Minister, you simply must help us out and make the union pony up again. :titanic:

OAC_Paint
I didnt hear any democrats say that when GM/Ford were before the senate in dec 08 just Republicans Do you guys have to turn everything into a repub/dem flame war. The rest of the world thinks your system of only having 2 parties is stupid. Your 2 party system leads to just going to war with each other, rather than actually getting anything accomplished..... This is great. Toyota is going down....just now realising their cars only appeal to the appliance buyer. From the wake up call to more attractive models is over 2 years away. They are behind the eight ball now. CHEERS!!!

It's funny people outside the country get it but the ones that should do not get it or don't give a shit. If only more eye's inside the country that can vote would realize the trouble of not having at the very least a 30% third party we might actually get some issues real Americans have.....resolved. Furious1Auto
Does anyone see the trend? All auto manufacturers are charging more on their retail pricing annually, and building less. More money for less production. Low volume, high yield. Last I knew there was not a shortage of people in this country who wanted a new vehicle, only people with good enough paying jobs, and job stability. As unemployment rises, the new auto market will continue to shrink, as it shrinks the manufacturers will downsize, as they downsize the unemployment rate will rise further shrinking the market. It is a catch 22, The Jerry McGuire effect. "The things that people think, but do not say." This problem can only be ignored so long, but if these companies keep laying off their customers then it exaggerates the problem. The key is in price point. People that make $7.00 at a temp job are not going to buy a $30,000 vehicle, and with few businesses experiencing growth, company owners, and managers aren't buying either. Rather then lowering the price the manufacturers prefer to abandon this market.
