Noah Harbinger
40 MPG in real world driving without a hybrid. Not to mention on mountain highways... I wonder what it might hit between Grapevine and Stockton...
twmalonehunter
Not to mention on mountain highways... I wonder what it might hit between Grapevine and Stockton... Wasn't the test car a 5-speed and isn't the dsg auto suppose to get even better than the manual?? I wonder if the official EPA numbers come in above the 30 city 40 Hwy.......hmmmm. NickF1011
As far as cargo volume, I found this info....Is it right? Can't be.... Honda Fit 57.3 Ford Fiesta 26.0 57.3 is with the seats down. Seats up it's 20.6. Less than the Fiesta. Edited May 5, 2010 by NickF1011
smok
Ok, here are the real numbers according to the edmunds comparison: Fiesta: Max. cargo volume, seats folded (cu-ft) - 34.6 Fit: Max. cargo volume, seats folded (cu-ft) - 57.3 That's some clever interior design by Honda....57.3 is a lot for a 'subcompact'. A lot of it is in the seat backs themselves. The way they fold in the Fit is far better than in the Fiesta. Add to that the more boxy greenhouse, and you're going to have quite a bit of room. Chester
My wife has a FIT, and while yes, it does seem to have more room, some of that space is way up against the ceiling (places you'd never use anyway, unless the car is stuffed to it's gills. Actual usable space is much closer. Still the fit is a little roomier than the Fiesta. But, that's about the only plus the Fit has. When Ford had both the Fiesta and new Focus out, they will have a much better lineup than Honda. Someone looking at smaller vehicles will multiple choices on the Ford lot. Yes, but you are also really talking about a different sub-class of cars. Honda Jazz (Fit) is considered a tall mini MPV in Europe and not a traditional B-segment supermini hatch. They appeal to slightly different buyers. The upcoming B-Max (Euro Fusion replacement) is the true Fit competitor. I'm sure B-Max will have much better cargo room.
