akirby
You are correct. I did state it wrong. It should have read OT beyond 8 hours. Sorry. So today you're doing 4 10 hour days - 40 hours per week - with no overtime? Oh the humanity! A lot of those "white collar" workers do 10 hours per day 5 days per week with no additional pay. Christmas bonuses went away decades ago in the real world.

Well you're the one who wants to be compensated based on the merits of what one is worth. If 50hrs work is worth 40hrs pay, so be it. Talk about humanity
Maislebandit
So today you're doing 4 10 hour days - 40 hours per week - with no overtime?Oh the humanity! No, personally I am not. A lot of those "white collar" workers do 10 hours per day 5 days per week with no additional pay. Most companies compensate employees one of two ways. Salaried and hourly. I'm not giving lessons today, so if you don't know the differences here, do your own homework. Christmas bonuses went away decades ago in the real world. Get some graph paper and do yourself some charting. Using economic stats and your excellent observations of when Xmas bonuses were and were not given, you will see it is likely cyclical. Go ahead, have fun with it. You asked what was given up, I told you. Kindly direct your future rhetorical questions elsewhere, as I am done with you. Have a great day! Talk about humanity Exactly. I don't have a problem with it and neither do the people doing the work because that's what the market requires and the compensation is based on that.
