jniffen
The Flex is fairly sizeable and I have to wonder if Ford would ever bring back the Ranchero based on that platform. Might ease the requests to bring back the Ranger. Comments?
Kris Kolman
Ummm... Because the Flex starts at over $30k and Explorer $29k is a start at why it wouldn't work.

lfeg
I do not see a Ranchero type of vehicle in North America. And since Ranchero does not start F or E, that name will remain in history.

Mark B. Morrow
I do not see a Ranchero type of vehicle in North America. And since Ranchero does not start F or E, that name will remain in history. I recall that they abandoned the F/E rule when Mulally came on board. That said, I don't see a Ranchero as a likely addition since there is no wagon in North America to base it on and it would be too expensive to import the Falcon for such a low volume offering. It's too bad we don't have a Fusion wagon. That would make a really cool looking Ranchero.
jniffen
The Flex is wagon like. I know it's their answer to the mini-vans, but it could start a new trend. And yes, the Falcon based unit from the Aussies is too cool for school.

cheri/ck
I would be interested in the Falcon too. But it won't come here in a reasonable size. We are too fixated now on 4-doors, family needs. It really could be a decent replacement for a Ranger that is only used for commuting, shopping trips, occasional light duty towing/hauling - and wow! Fun to drive. Yeah, too cool for us in the U.S. for sure.
All-Or-Nothing
It will never come back.
timmm55
It could come back as a pint sized version, like the Brazilian Courier that was based off an older Fiesta. But that was based off a 3 door hatch with the longer doors. Wouldn't be right with 4 doors or "thin" 2 doors.
BORG
I can't imagine their is sustainable volume in such a vehicle stateside. It makes even less sense than a Focus station wagon, yet we don't have that either.
timmm55
I can't imagine their is sustainable volume in such a vehicle stateside. It makes even less sense than a Focus station wagon, yet we don't have that either. I disagree, the US like trucks of all kinds, at different times of shapes and sizes. From the 60 Falcon to the mini-truck, to today's F series of various LARGE sizes. And still Ford's best seller by far. A small Ranchero wouldn't be cross shopped with the cash cow F150 even at it's lightest load capability. Wagons? Not much activity in any size. Certainly not at Ford. The Flex is cool but limited and pricy, Honda Fit is doing OK for essentially a small wagon. Mini-vans are disdained in general, but are still practical to a large group. Nor do I think a Ranchero would cannibalize Transit Connect sales any more than the F150 affects Flex sales. I could see a Ranchero for light duty commercial parts running AND personal fun occasional hauler...........that still gets 39 MPGs. Even using the 4 door sedan, with it's shorter doors, I don't think it looks too bad! Edited March 14, 2013 by timmm55
NickF1011
How about a Mustang pickup while we're at it? /sarcasm
