Joe771476
I'm not sure if they should have used the F150 as the risk taking vehicle. But I can see why they chose it because the payoff could be huge as well since payload and fuel mileage will increase in a vehicle that typically gets poor mileage. http://autos.aol.com/article/ford-aluminum-f-150-dealerships-december/?icid=maing-grid7%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl5%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D562740
akirby
The biggest risk was the plant shutdown and changeover - mitigated by having two plants.
blwnsmoke
Being that the 17 SD is going to be Aluminum as well, Ford must be EXTREMELY confident in this. I can't wait to see the MPG announcement.
probowler
Yeah I can't believe they haven't announced MPG yet....... It's either going to be total mindblowing........or a huge letdown Time will tell.
snooter
I am warming to the idea of Pabst can body panels..35mpg would be great..id unload the Ram for that mpg
RichardJensen
No, not "Pabst can", "military grade" Get used to those two words. You're going to hear them so often in the next year, you'll go nuts.
Bryan1
Respecting the EPA fuel economy announcement timing, Ram took a year to announce their Ecodiesel figures. Ford will have their EPA numbers out within a much shorter 8 months. 7Mary3
I doubt the F-150 itself will have any issues. The issue will be how profitable the vehicle is.
