OX1
It's a shame that the Sport needs summer tires to handle and brake better than the 2.0 AWD. But 350-400 lbs with same size tire (width) will do that. Ford dropped the ball on the electronic susp. Who cares about potholes, give me struts that firm up almost solid (for a split second) when sensors measure driver swerved hard to avoid a pothole (or jsut wanted to play). The pothole thing was disappointing, and does not make it ride any better than the 2.0 AWD.
jpd80
Interesting debate but how much does Fusion's added weight affect performance and sales? Is the competition's lesser weight a point of concern with actual buyers? Edited October 29, 2016 by jpd80

Weight, probably not that much, but rated and actual MPG is much higher in the lighter cars
jpd80
Weight, probably not that much, but rated and actual MPG is much higher in the lighter cars Fuel economy is relative, most buyers are comfortable with the levels being achieved. CAFE is the real driver behind reducing weight and improving fuel economy and you can bet that Ford will improve those figures when and as needed.. brucelinc
I have been told that the 4 cylinder Fusion will be among the first Ford products to get the 9 speed transmission. That should help the CAFE numbers. Whether it does much for real world fuel economy remains to be seen.
