Can anyone confirm that the scheduling for the 2018 Black Label Continentals has actually started?

There was no scheduling for the 2018 Lincoln Continental this week. Startup scheduling will begin next week with units to be scheduled for production the week of 08/28/2017. Retail 2018MY Continental orders will not be selected for scheduling until the "OK to Buy" status has been achieved.

Thank you very much. Is that something that just happens or does the dealer need to do something? I already have a PO number but not aware of anything else.

That's standard operating procedure. They want to make sure all of the bugs are worked out before they start shipping new vehicles to dealerships and customers. OK to buy is given after 5 consecutive days of error free builds. Could take 5 days or 5 weeks or longer. Any vehicle made during this period has to be held, inspected and repaired before it ships which is why they restrict it to dealer stock only. In extreme cases early build cars have been held at the factory for 2-3 months or longer so you don't want your vehicle to be built before ok to buy.

Does anyone know if the scheduling for the Continentals began this week? My Dealer says nothing has changed on their system for my order.

Yours is a retail order. It won't be scheduled until the OK TO BUY is given, which means after 5 consecutive days of no major build errors. Could take 5 days, could take 5 weeks. With a carryover model like this it will probably be closer to the 5 day end of the spectrum.

Thank you. I got it. I understood that it couldn't be built until the OK TO BUY was given, but I did not realize they would not even schedule it until then. Once the OK TO BUY is given, is there any information how long it typically takes to schedule and build a Black Label Continental?

Depends on priority and how well production runs. They're switching up their work week from a 5x8 schedule to 4x10 next week so there might be some "growing pains" associated with that, and they're only running one shift for the rest of the summer so that might slow things down a little bit too.

hjr007, have you seen the Ruby Red Conti around town?? I'm from a little bit east of you but visit Cobourg often and have seen the Conti twice in the last six months or so. I have yet to see a single other one on the road. Lincolns seem rare as hen's teeth in our area.

Who do you deal with? I'm assuming maybe Holiday since Fraser isn't a Lincoln dealer. I deal with Revell in Verona but it's quite a drive...

Regardless, I you have better luck than I did on my last order... my 2016 MKX #2 was ordered August 2 (2016), built on October 21 and delivered November 3. Waaaaaayy too long for a custom order. My 2013 only took 6 weeks.
