EUStang4Rai
Hello, my name is Rainer and I live in Germany. I'm a Ford-Child since the first car from my parents in the late sixties and had bought during the last 30 years of my life some Fiesta, Escort and Focus. Now it's time to drive a Mustang. So I ordered one last October and it should be produced on 24th of January. But it looks like this blend date was cancelled because of the plant-shutdown. Now I'm impatiently looking forward to the production of my red pony. And sorry for some faults in writing in English. Have a nice day, Rainer. Welcome to the forums and since your Mustang will be red, I hope you have plans on joining the Red Mustang Registry....over 10,000 members strong (I am #4082) and the only two requirements for joining are that you own a Mustang and that it is red... That sounds interesting. Did some short google-search and found the website. And will have a look to the Facebook-site as well. We'll see. Hopefully my race-red-GT will be produced soon. Can't wait any longer, but it will be April or May (best case) until it's here. ?

EUStang4Rai
Thank you! You can't imagine how I'm anxiously looking forward to "my Stang's" journey across the pond and the transports with rail and truck. I dreamt of this car with this great V8 sound my whole life. EUStang4Rai
Hm - let's have a look in this registry #4802 - hey a 1983 GLX. Nice. I collect small miniature cars (mostly in scale 1:43, but some in 1:18 and 1:24) and I have a red 1985 Twister II. And many older and newer ones. tbone
Welcome to the forum. How exciting for you. I know the wait must be excruciating. We take it for granted we can drive five miles down the road and buy one off the lot sometimes. Hopefully it will make it to you safe and sound soon.
EUStang4Rai
Thank you tbone. The wait is really a pain. And reading that the plant had stopped working only a view days before my Stang was born, was like getting a punch in my stomach. Maybe you have only a view miles to get one. But I have only a view miles to drive as fast as I like on our German Autobahn. ?

I'm from Spain so I am an european customer like yourself. Made an order on 12th of december and I don't have a blend date though but a VIN. I feel your pain for your delay considering that this is my second order in less than a year I had to cancel the first one due to the fact that the first dealer I made the order with "forgot" to mention that in order to be able to choose Recaros with blue stitching I had to select one of the custom package that are eligible here in Europe. Simply put after 3 months Ford told the dealer that the car could not be made and that I should have modified/remade the order but considering the incompetence of the dealer I cancelled and made an other one with an other dealer. I think that we'll share part of the long wait so be strong because having a Mustang here in EU is almost like having a baby... ? EUStang4Rai
Really - she's a beauty. Here in the EU these Mark 3 Stangs are not so popular. But - and for sure as a convertible - your car looks perfect! Edited February 11, 2019 by EUStang4Rai edited - its mark iii, correct?

They don't refer to them as "Mark 3"....we call 'em "Fox body" Mustangs due to the Fox platform that began as the 1978 Ford Fairmont.

For me, unfortunately, it looks like this with the construction date
Vins
Servus Rainer, I live in Germany too and still having the same problem you HAD (I have just seen in the other thread that you car was produced yesterday, congratulations ! :))) As Ikzz says (hola tio!) to get a Mustang over here in Europe might be as long and complex as having a baby....... actually even worst: my order for a Bullitt was placed last March (!!!) and still got no VIN............................................. ? It seems though that the dealer has a confirmation for the allocation.. but may, that´s too much!
