Mustang Worlds Best Selling Coupe

Recommended Posts

Quote

According to Ford internal data, the United States remains home to the strongest demand for Mustang representing 76% of global sales. Other markets that saw growth in Mustang sales in 2021 include New Zealand, up 54.3%, Brazil, up 37.3%, and South Korea, up 16.6%. For those who wanted a Mustang of their own, customers retail orders nearly doubled in 2021 compared to the year prior.

Mustang nameplate is stronger than ever with Mach-E now part of the Mustang family, and with BEV versions of Mustang coupe expected to debut in a few years.

Mercedes, VW and BMW and the Japs can't be too happy!  And you can be sure Mercedes hates Ford for the Transit killing Sprinter sales.  I think Ford is referred to by it's competition as "That pesky Ford!"  That's why Daimler had to buy out Ford Louisville class 7 and 8 after the redesign in 1996/1997!  Otherwise their purchase of Freightliner would have been a waste of money!

Mercedes, VW, and BMW don't have direct competitors to Mustang. And the idea of "Transit killing Sprinter sales" is imaginary.

4 Series Coupe, A5 Coupe and C-Class coupe are direct competitors to the traditional Mustang in every market outside of the USA. Even in the US I'd would say there is a subset of buyers that compare the higher trim Mustangs to them.

And that’s who Ford benchmarked, not the Camaro or Charger.
