tbone
https://fordauthority.com/2025/02/ford-recalls-73k-vehicles-over-rearview-camera-failures/ Am I missing something about the complexities of rearview cameras? I mean, this is bordering on clown show territory. Are other manufacturers having the same problem and I’m not hearing about it? We had problems with our 2020 Explorer camera, so it’s clearly been going on since then. Anyone care to explain why Ford can’t design/manufacture a reliable rearview cameras system? There have been an embarrassing number of recalls and stop sales related to this subject.

There have been an embarrassing number of recalls and stop sales related to this subject. It boils down to the vendor making the camera for Ford or Ford not being able to properly integrate them with the Sync/display, which would make me feel that is a software and not a hardware issue. I'm leaning towards it being an issue with the camera itself, because I'd venture to guess the way it works with the Sync system would be more or less identical across the lineup. Just like seat warmers. What a waste of money.

Doesn’t matter if you know how to drive you don’t have X-ray vision.

Don't bother being logical there.....he's saying people are going to die because of 4 wheel steering....
jlr-1 Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Between my truck and mustang, wife's Aviator, kid's Escape, other kid's Edge, the only one that didn't get the camera recall was the 2019 Escape. The only one that exhibited any camera issues was the 2011 Edge. The 2023 Aviator, 2019 F350, and 2016 Mustang all had the cameras replaced for no reason that I could tell...
