snooter
As we enter a new age of Obama-led American governance, I think there is an apt metaphor from the movie "Jurassic Park." Operations Manager Ray Arnold (Samuel L Jackson) had grave doubts about the security of the Park. But Doctor Hammond (the owner) assured him that everything would be just fine. Hammond was so confident in his idea that he had the audacity of placing his own grandchildren in the middle of his experiment. Arnold was not so sure. ... But when commanded to do so, he pressed the button and initiated the fateful tour, saying: "Hold onto your butts." thats not to bad..not to bad at all.... Savetheplanet
He is just typical Liberal scum who adds nothing positive to society as shown by his remarks, I also think he's just coming to a realization that after 4 years of this socialization attempt we will be most definently be electing a right winger again, Also I would like to take this time to send my warmest regards to VP Cheney for an upcoming well deserved retirement. I wonder if Bush and Cheney will ever get the credit they deserve in the future? You are sooo right, what was I thinking? The Republicans are in fine shape to be sure, and yeah Bush and Cheney deserve a massive amount of respect for the job they have done! But for now you guys WILL open your wallets, it doesn't matter if the Dems can't get the numbers to block a filibuster, new tax is a mandatory vote, no filibuster We are in controll and there is nothing you flatworlders can do about it. have a nice day. RangerM
I drive a VW Jetta, turbo diesel (50mpg) I am not the hippie they think I am, it might surprise them that I am pro gun and love to hunt and fish. I have been listing to Rush L. for about 45 min the last two days And my friends and I are even more determined to be pro active now on energy policy. I just gave http://www.coal-is-dirty.com/ another $200 0n top of the $100 I already gave. It's time for all you white boys to suck the pipe, you don't run things here no more. We have the numbers, Obama has a mandate. But for now you guys WILL open your wallets We are in controll and there is nothing you flatworlders can do about it. So........ We have an Obama-supporting, non-white boy, Jetta TDI-driving, hunter, fisherman, who is anti-coal, pro-gun, listens to Rush Limbaugh, lives in the mountains, expects me to open my wallet and suck the pipe. I'm struggling to conjure up a mental image here. Edited November 7, 2008 by RangerM

Hemiman
Make no mistake, we are going to change the way business is done on wall street, reform health care, you will definitely see a change in the direction of energy (fossil fuels bye bye). I think you may taking yourself, (and friends) just a little too seriously. Energy sources aren't going to change much in the next 20yrs, let alone 4yrs. What little it does will be the result of market forces more than any group of academics. Edited November 7, 2008 by Hemiman
kpc655
Every news agency (and that includes LIBERAL ones) have tied the further decline of the stock market to partially one reason------->the ascendency of BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA to the Presidency. Congrats on that one LIBBYS. But here is the new one, and it is NOT an internet fabricated story, it is reality. Before I let you know what is going on, let me state that Mr Obama has NOT signed on to this, but he has not said he will NOT either, lolol. This idea has come from YOUR party, the DNC, to heeeeeeeelp everyone. Thnx for helping your fellow countrymen, and if this is isn't legalized theft, I don't know what is! DNCs BRILLIANT IDEA, sponsored by Nancy (the BITCH Pelosi and friends, including his hornyness, Barney(( let me look at your man rearend)) Frank) Pelosi and pals. We, in our infinite wisdom, want to CONFISCATE (that is my word, not theirs in all fairness) everyones 401K. Exactly how will this work? Simple. (and here is the bribe) We in our fairness, will RESTORE your 401k to the levels it had achieved on Aug the 1st BEFORE the market collapsed. No need to kiss us, Barrack and friends are only trying to HEEEELP YOU, lololol. But in return, we want to let ALL OF YOU EVIL WEALTHY PEOPLE know that a 401k is not fair. Why not? Why because, you evil wealthy rich bastards are in a higher tax bracket than many, which means that you get a tax break above and beyond what many do by putting cash into your 401k. If YOU wealthy bastards are taxed at 25% and invest in it, and a lower type person invests who is taxed at 15%, why you have unfairly gained at the rate of 10% you greedy shits. We Socialiali.........errr I mean the wonders of the DNC are going to fix this obvious BUSH unfair practice!!!! HERE IS THE PLAN------------->We will confiscate (again, my words, not theirs, but what they are actually doing) your 401k and put it into an individual S.S. acount that is tied to just you. We will use that money to buy solid, new types of government treasury bonds that pay inflation, plus 3% for your fair return. When it is time for you to collect S.S. you will receive 2 checks; the first one is your regular S.S. benefits from your government, the second is from your PERSONAL S.S. account, created from your 401k. Kiss my DNC rearend cause I have saved you!!!! You shall vote for us forever more, cause we even gave you money by makiing your FORMER 401K look like it did on Aug 1st!!!!! REALITY-------------> 1. Why would they do this? ANSWER------------>Because they gotta get cash to FUND their SOCIALIST ideas from somewhere, and your 401K is a wonderful place to get it WITHOUT having to print more money causing inflation. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS-------------> hOW MUCH MONEY is in S.S. now? Are you thinking? Well let me tell you 0, let me write that out for you....ZERO, nothing, nada, zilch. They took all your dough, put it in the general fund to make the BALANCE closer so you wouldn't bitch, and now there is nothing. 2. How much will be in there after they do this?--------------->Same, nothing, lolol. Just like they did with S.S. they will use this money to finance their programs. They aren't going to take what was 100,000 on Aug 1st that turned into 70,000 after the crash and add 30 grand to it, lololol. What they will do is TAKE the 70,000 grand, and do what they always do......throw an IOU in there for 100,000 bucks, and let those who pay 15yrs from now worry about it. This is NOT an internet story, this is fact. This is what Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and few others want to happen.........because it is NOT fair! Well, what if you get smart and if it looks like it will pass, you cash it in? Well, you will probably get audited, (my thoughts, by no means facts) but you will pay big taxes to get to it. They still get something. CONCLUSION: Mr Obamas words say one thing, but that does not mean he will govern from the left. He may not accept this. But it is obvious what those who reside on the far left want; such as Nancy Pelosi, and Barney Frank. Those of you who wanted change, you have succeeded. But does that mean THIS is the type of change you want? I believe that most Obama supporters wanted a change, not a tear down, rebuild, of Americas way of life. He is our President, and we need to let him know what we think of such idiocy. All I can say is----------->if we fail to convince him of the error of this thought process; and if he decides to support Mz Pelosi and MZ........er I mean Mr. Frank; then all I can say is............"Don't blame me, I voted for Mcain!" Brazil did this in 1990. Every dollar (well, their currency) above app. 1300 was seized by the government. It has happened.

The Repup party is in shambles. You know a great indicator of just how out of touch the Republican party is, was that one night during the primaries when 3 of the ten Republican contenders said they did not believe in evolution. So yeah, why should he even try to reach across the aisle to the republicans or be a centrist? He has a solid mandate to do what he wants. And my friends and I are even more determined to be pro active now on energy policy. I just gave http://www.coal-is-dirty.com/ another $200 0n top of the %100 I already gave. The majorty of support for Obama came from the regular middle class voters, along wiht the usual liberal factions of the Democratic party, so get off your high horse, moron. napfirst
Oh, I'm not disputing that. I just wish he could have just laid down the facts without all of the crap stitched in between. People like him make the objective analysts look like tools. For example, when he refers to Obama as "BARACK HUSEIN OBAMA"; we all know that Obama's middle name is Husein at this point. It just makes it look like he has to compensate for, regardless of the fact that his points are valid and require no compensation. This type of bullsh!t partisan rhetoric is simply not needed. For the record, the market is going down the drain because of Obama's win. 401K's are being destroyed as a direct result as well. However, I am not to blame. I voted for McCain. I take umbrage with your assertion that using obama's full name is somehow wrong....he has a muslim name, that's a fact...and if he dosen't like it...he should change it....I have rarely used it here on BON, but I see nothing wrong with using.....what do you think they'll do on inauguration day?.....just maybe the main stream media will "bleep" it out when the Chief Justice administers the oath of office......people on BON have had a hay-day with BushChaney for the last several years...now all-of-a-sudden we are suppose to be PC because we have a POTUS who has a muslim name and is black....BS......I respect the office but not the man..I still hold the same opinion....he's over his head...the economy is a mess and if it turns around soon, he'll get the credit but if it don't, he won't take the blame...the press will see to that...he will be worse than jima carter! "You don't agree with me because you didn't read what I said". Umm. Yeah. My point? Why use Obama's middle name at all? It's not like there is another Barack Obama out there that may confuse us as to which one you were referring to. It's not a case like George W. Bush where a middle name or middle initial is more commonly used as a differentiator between him and his father. This wasn't an attack on you specifically, and more importantly, it was a freaking joke. :poke:

taxman100
The federal government is fiscally and morally bankrupt - they want to get their hands on any large pools of money they can find to try to extend their dog and pony show for a few more years, and kick the problem down the road. We are in serious economic trouble, and the cures they are trying are the exact opposite of what they should be doing. Encouraging an economy that is in debt up to their ears, and with zero savings, to go out and borrow even more is complete insanity. And, encourage everyone to be a deadbeat, and punish those that have savings, or work hard - brilliant as well. However, you don't get elected by thinking long term - just tell them you will give them something and someone else will pay (The Obama method) will get you into office. On economic issues, Ron Paul was 100% correct on the approach to take. Unfortunately, most politicians are completely clueless, so the future looks really, really scary. Bush was terrible for the economy, but Obama looks to be even worse, based upon his campaign statements.
