If YOU wealthy bastards are taxed at 25% and invest in it, and a lower type person invests who is taxed at 15%, why you have unfairly gained at the rate of 10% you greedy shits. We will use that money to buy solid, new types of government treasury bonds that pay inflation, plus 3% for your fair return. When it is time for you to collect S.S. you will receive 2 checks; the first one is your regular S.S. benefits from your government, the second is from your PERSONAL S.S. account, created from your 401k.

The federal government is fiscally and morally bankrupt - they want to get their hands on any large pools of money they can find to try to extend their dog and pony show for a few more years, and kick the problem down the road.

 

We are in serious economic trouble, and the cures they are trying are the exact opposite of what they should be doing. Encouraging an economy that is in debt up to their ears, and with zero savings, to go out and borrow even more is complete insanity. And, encourage everyone to be a deadbeat, and punish those that have savings, or work hard - brilliant as well. However, you don't get elected by thinking long term - just tell them you will give them something and someone else will pay (The Obama method) will get you into office.

 

On economic issues, Ron Paul was 100% correct on the approach to take. Unfortunately, most politicians are completely clueless, so the future looks really, really scary. Bush was terrible for the economy, but Obama looks to be even worse, based upon his campaign statements.
