  1. And most importantly, in the next 2 years...hmmm corralation somewhere ?
  2. The 200HP version of the 3.0L, and a 4 speed automatic? OH I'm sorry, I thought Ford was serious about making cars again, maybe not.... Another case of "newly redesigned vehicle, with previous generation powertrain"...
  3. LINK-TCC.com Scroll down 3/4th of the page, and you will see pictures of a car with interesting set of doors. Maybe this is something the Fairlane could sport....
  4. And 35% of those Charger sales went to fleet...But at least it's better than the 49% of the Magnum...
  5. "I love The New super-duty it is What Ford needs every product it makes to be. IT DOMINATES IT CLASS!!!!! It is not just good enough. and I hate trucks. " This is ssooooo true, and Ford has stated they will do everything to keep their stronghold leadership of the truck class. So we see what Ford is capable, yet have we seen them say they are wanting to fight back for leadership in the car segment? No... Ford has not yet (and it has shown us) that they are serious in the car segment just yet.
  6. There are some cars that their styling is very timeless, first generation Taurus/Sable is one of them. I just saw a 92 Mazda 929 is great condition and the car looked timeless in styling as well...hard to imagine that it's almost 14 years since that time. Mazda Millenia is another vehicle which it's styling is timeless and looks at home next to any Lexus any day.
  7. Couldn't they have used a bit more, hmmm healthier model, to display the step feature?
  8. And it's seling well more than the Cadillac EXT, so sure why not offer it.. It's just a big bowl of profits anyways.
  9. Are we sure this is Focus coupe, and not Fusion Coupe ?
  10. Whats funny though is, all this is pretty much BS if only the division were to be sold off...As in, it's written AS if Volvo has a buyer. My question would be, "Who said Ford was selling it?"... LINK-Autoweek.com
  11. I love the interior design...the instrumentation, the details, the integration of the center console with the dashboards, everything has a very elegant look. This is a good example of what Ford can do when they WISH to be competitive...specially in that cut-throat market. When Ford NA decides to become aggresive, (when market share falls to 10% like in Europe) you will finally see this sort of quality and aggresiveness.
  12. Ironically those that I know with Camrys dumped them after 100K when the car was giving them more hassles than what it was worth since repair/replace was more expensive...
  13. I would hope with so many years around, they would refine it a bit. Unfortunately last time I was in one with the 3.5L, it sounded like farm machinery, crude and not very refined, luckily the rest of the vehicle was insulated enough to sort of mask it. And not much of a rever, anything over 3000RPM and it sounded as if it were out of breath gasping for a shift. Majority of the drivers won't care for the most part, but for this award, they've usually looked for something a bit more sophisticated. But considering the other contenders, I would this even with this they would still have a better chance.
  14. Usually with this award, it goes to someone who has brought something different to it's segment, while incorporating technology that is cutting edge, a vehicle that redefines the segment, one that is much improved from the earlier versions....etc.etc. I personally think the Aura has a chance, since it's much improved of what Saturn had before (L300). IT's a vehicle that is taking Saturn upwards in market perception. It's also one of the first uses of GM/Ford JV transmission with a modern (for GM) 3.6L DOHC V6. It's only downfall is the antiquated OHV 3.5L entry engine. The Caliber I believe is a vast improvement over the defunct Neon. It's an improvement in everyway in a hot segment, although the "hot" sales are a turn off since 38%+ are going to fleet sales. Every other vehicle in their list of contenders is just slightly improved from the previous generations. And these awards hardly ever go to the uber-sedans like S-Class, XK8's, etc. unless there' something totally revolutionary in it's design, which is again...slightly improved from previous generations....The Lexus with it's unnecessary 8speed automatic, and auto-parellel parking function might get a nod or 2. For the truck segment, I would say Ford might have a better chance there with the Edge and Mazda Cx-7. Both great entries into it's segments. I think the GMC Arcadia is also a good contender for what it has to offer in it's segment. The Silverado might have a shot if you take into account of it's impact in the segment, but again, offers nothing revolutionary in it's segment and it's mostly warmed over for the most part. Some with numerous other entries like CR-V's, down to Wranglers. Doubt the FJ Cruiser would win, other than it's just very different if some judges go for that (which doesn't usually), but it's really nothing special, and the Escape Hybrid won last year, so the Saturn Vue Greeny would be redundant.
  15. What a shame....it's sssoooo international that it's not even available in the largest market on the globe...
  16. 4700-5000lbs for the MKS, where did that come from ? We are talking MKS, not S-Class.
  17. Amazingly Fords advertising has done decent work on promoting their trucks. They actually DISCUSS the vehicle, unlike the new Lincoln commercials which look like they are pushing some sort of philosophical epiphanies found on some Oprah Magazine column.
  18. "In Latin, Auris means good taste, or ear." Isn't Latin a dead language ? Why call something, if the majority of people don't know what it means? At least now when we hear the "Oh Ford killed the Taurus nameplate" we can use this as another example. I dont know, but personallyt the name Corolla, is close to "Carola", which is a female name...and every "Carola" I know has been some big fat old b---h. Kinda like "Helga" and "Natasha"...Yikes...
  19. I've also beat my EPA mileages as well on my LS V8...not for the positives though. Window said 18/25, I get an average of 13. And if I'm having a good week, maybe 14-15MPG, Woohooo ! Realistically If the "Fairlane" F---en-Mover, gets 23...chances are it's probably a 16-18MPG vehicle. By the time you get 600lbs of mommy and daddy in the front seat, littel Timmy and Billy in the 2nd row with their McD's value meals, and their 2 daiper changing bags which that entourage weights around 20lbs each, and Grandma in the 3rd row (Maria the maid if you live in Miami), and throw in a few strollers, a cooler for fresh drinks from and to the mall 10 blocks away, your easily looking at an additional 1200lbs the vehicle has to drag around, lowering the fuel economy quite a bit.
  20. "Make a few vehicles maybe 3 model cars... 3 model trucks that don't have 4 million recalls in the first year. " The 500/Mtgo, rated top in initial quality by JDPower, both vehicles new designed built in a newly renovated flexible manufacturing plant. The Avalon can't say that... Same with the Mustang. The CD3 haven't received any issues either. So really this is irrelevant...
