  1. Thats why my friends Engine crapped out at 96k? I've heard problems with them
  2. You have to be kidding me....lets do some explaining here: 500 vs Taurus-The 500 came out in 2005 and was renamed the Taurus in 2008 as part of the refresh they did on it...so what they changed the Front end and rear end on the car...how much did that cost? How much was that factored into program costs already? How much was the car even advertised? I still didn't see much in the advertising done for it when it was renamed the Taurus. Look at every other Ford product besides the Ranger and Panther platforms...they've all been refreshed with in 2-4 years of being launched. Lets get back to the renaming thing, guess who wanted that done? Mullay...why? because he wanted it done....then the Next Gen Taurus (the 2010) was pushed up and even redesigned since both Fields and Mullay said the orginal redesign sucked. As for the D3 being failures....I can bet you a large sum of money that they will be far more profitiable then the Panthers ever will be. I'd assume the avg cost of the Panther (which are 95% fleet sales) is around 20K exculting the Town Car. With the Flex and then Explorer being added into the D3 mix with much higer avg transation sales, they'll be making money had over fist with them.
  3. My friend has a 2000 Cherokee Classic and the engine shit the bed at 96K!
  4. Well if there is a market for it, why not cater to it?
  5. LOL I've seen Flex's on "Fringe" as FBI cars On a more serious note, I was watching the news (out of NYC) and saw an Altima or Maxima in NYPD markings! I know they used Impalas before but this is the first time I've seen Nissans as cop cars
  6. Well doesn't seem like Ford has high expectations for it...I thought I saw/read they are only looking at 20K Transit Connects coming into the USA. I guess they are expecting it to be profitable in those numbers also. Another thing, I'd assume that the Tranist Connect won't get updated again till after the new Focus launches..it just got an update this year (for the US market partly I'm assuming) and it would make too much sense not to update it to be on the new Focus platform and thus be built at MAP or LAP when they get tooled up.
  7. God, I hate gold colored cars...nothing says old fart car like a gold color car...
  8. What about the rumor of the Capri being turned into a 4 door coupe that was reported on here before? That would be an intersting alternative and would make a nice Mercury offering too boot. Based on the upcoming Focus platform...sorta like a VW CC?
  9. Wow I hope it looks better then this rendered POS or that show car they did a couple years ago http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpr...ng_at_last.html
  10. I never had a problem with that (but then again I do have a spoiler less GT) , I had couple people ask me to race here and there...but for the most part been never bothered or just plain ignore them when they do...
  11. And better layout for that payload...closer to a van then a SUV/Wagon
  12. But the problem is that the Ranger doesn't have an enclosed cargo area...its like comparing the E-series to the F-series From the pricing I've found, the Transit with all the options is under $26K according to Edmunds...a Stripper F-150 might be cheaper, but whats the point of compairing two totally different vehicles? Boils down to people automatically thinking that anything from Europe or even Asia is better then what you can get from the USA.
  13. Is the SRX based on the Lambda (Traverse etc) or is it on the Ion/Equinox platform?
  14. I also do the same, but I'd much rather use Windows when it comes to every day tasks...IMO most Apple products are overpriced and overrated (and yes I have a Macbook Pro and a iPhone, which both crapped out in under a year of use on me!) and Linux is to far out there for the everyday user... MS has had some stinkers out there (Win ME and Vista to a lesser extent), but for the most part they do work pretty well
  15. You'll still have debt if you can't get anyone to buy your cars....the new GM and Chrysler might be in for a big shock when everything is said and done and the customers don't come, unless they offer cut rate deals which I'm sure would wind them up in court with Ford and other manufactures claiming they have an unfair price advantage. Plus GM is going to have to pay back at least part of the debt to the government...and if they don't the Tax payer is going to be pissed. They are going to think they got money from me through my taxes, I'm not going to give them any more of it willing.
  16. Sounds like someone with a chip on their shoulder...then again some of those same elitists you call them have that same damn chip on their shoulder...
  17. What are you a Linux Snob or Apple Whore instead? Your coming across like you don't know jackshit and are just bashing MS to Bash them because they are "The Man" AFAIK there hasn't been any issues with Sync
  18. I thought it was a diffuser...but I looked it up and its not...I think its to help straighten out the airflow after it hits the roof
  19. I think bringing over the current RS had about as much chance as a snowball making it in Hell and not Hell Michigan either...:P but yeah lets see what the next gen brings :D
  20. I think he's trying to say that the car is about 80-85% of the way there and that the final part will fall into place with the 3.5L V6 and 5L V8 and maybe the EB 3.5L if we are lucky.... I wonder if the EB 3.5L won't perform better then the 5L....esp if the 415HP rumored max power that the EB 3.5L v6 is to be believed.
  21. I dunno they remind me the the dashes from 1980's that GM products had...with the rubber chicklet buttons on them
