  1. Your argument holds no water when $4 dollar a gallon gas prices are in effect. Ford and GM won't pay fines either...because they'll meet the regulations due to their stakeholders wanting them too. If anything the only way to make the playing field even for imports who already pay it is make the fine Painful instead of just an annoyance that it is now.
  2. CAFE is a fucking joke, people moved to SUV's and Trucks because Gas was cheap, not because of CAFE, Americans like big cars (status symbols) and will only move to smaller/more effecent cars when gas goes up in price. Short of having a Gas tax on a scale that goes up when fuel is cheap and down when its expesive, there is no other way to force people in US to buy cars that get better MPG. Socializing improved MPGs on cars just makes the automakers build cars that people don't want if gas is cheap!
  3. Though Ford gets an endorsement: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Obama-says-a...f-14763368.html
  4. Then again there might be anything we can do about it since its a Natural phenomenon too
  5. The only draw back of the 08+ models is the kinda fugly headlights on it...otherwise it looks great
  6. Wow that car is pretty bland looking, but I expect the styling to change ALOT before we see what it actually looks like next year sometime.
  7. A buddy of mine at work had his brothers Roush 427R Mustang, I think it was a 2007 or 08 Model...anyways he lives just down the street from me, so I went over to his place after work for a spin in...anyways here are my impressions: HOLY FUCK its fast! I have a 06 Mustang GT and the pickup feels "slow" now on it LOL It was downright amazing how fast the car felt from the passenger seat. It went to 80 breaking no sweat and felt like it had plenty more to go around. If the 5L V8 gets 400HP/400ftlb next year in the Mustang, the 2011 Models are going to be some serious shit on the road. The Roush updates to the susepesion where pretty impressive also, we where whipping around the jughandle on to the highway doing like 80 and the car didn't feel like it wanted to slide around or lose control. There where a couple points I was almost scared by the car, partly since I haven't driven much with my co-worker and some of the roads that we where on I wasn't too familar with, so him getting on it and not knowing what to expect made my heart jump a couple times, but hey thats half the fun :D Downside...Holy crap the Mustang Dash is so cheap/cheezy looking without the IUP on it...I was also really suprised to see that the LCD Info screeen thats under the MPH gauge was MIA,I thought that was standard on GT models, I have it on mine. The seats looked nice, but wheren't any better then the seats I have in my GT. Anyways, a really impressive car....I'll have to seriously consider adding a Supercharger to my Mustang down the road...but that won't be for awhile, I need to pay it off, replace it with a Fusion Sport or Taurus SHO and get a house to keep it in as a weekend driver :P
  8. We still don't have any hard facts....the Explorer America Concept had a 2L Ecoboost, but yet all rumors indicate a 2.5L Ecoboost is in-development instead. Then we have 1.6L Ecoboosts and smaller engines coming out in the next 2-3 years I'd assume, but not for NA markets...at least in some cars.
  9. In all seriousness, what would a Ecoboost 3.5L V6 do for the Edge/MKX, besides make them high performance people haulers...not a bad idea, but I'd much rather see a Ecoboost I4 getting 30+ MPG in it instead for everyone else...Is there any more info about the Ecoboost I4 out there? Its pretty pretty defening as of late, considering this is going to be the hallmark engine for the unibody Explorer
  10. And Ford would have lost money on every single one sold...doesn't make a lick of sense does it?
  11. This was mentioned by Edumonds or something, they got a recalibrated ECU after their first test of the car...nice to see they get a free pass when the car doesn't quite live up to expecations...
  12. tick-tock....GM only has 8 more days to get this straightened out
  13. I can't believe how badly the Camaro performs vs the Mustang, that extra 350lbs really hurts it and its going to be game over with 5L and whatever the new Cobra gets in it...its def not 1996 again
  14. Lets see: ES350: Tarted up Camry Acura TL: Tarted up Accord(?) Audi A4: Tarted up Jetta, which is a compact! The only problem with the MKZ is that its sheetmetal is still shared in the doors/windows with the Fusion and Milan. I havent pay attention to ES350 if it has the same greenhouse as the Camry..but the MKZ needs to be more different, like the MKT and MKS vs the Flex and Taurus.
  15. Gotta love the comments from the peanut gallery on that page...
  16. hmm wonder how they can do that with the higher torque ratings from the 3.5L V6 and I wonder how heck you get manual like control out of a transmission thats designed to work at certain RPM LOL
  17. Well if anything that would be an incentive to bring it out sooner then later...
  18. i'd say we have a slight chance of the EB V6 showing up before the end of this model year...depends on what happens in NY The Mustang would get a 6 speed with the new engines next year.

  20. How have the CVT's been working out for Nissan?
  21. I think the Edge Grill in your rendering looks too much like the previous Gen Fusion Grill...I think its going to look more like the 2010 Taruas Grill in its next incarnation...which seems to be the way forward for Ford styling...blending Euro look (trapezoidal lower grill) and the "dave" grill.
  22. One of my co-workers wanted a 2010 GT, I told him to wait till next year with the new 5L
  23. boy could have gotten yourself a nice Focus for that much as a second car
