  1. Not sure why people think this is a big deal. Like coupe3w said back in Febuary this will be easy to bypass. For $20 you can buy a skip shift eliminator kit for a GTO, Vette, Camaro or Challenger. I'm sure one will be available for the Mustang. It only takes a few minutes to install. Click the below link. http://www.installuniversity.com/install_university/installu_pages/sophomore_year/cags_slp.htm
  2. Most badges are held on with adhesive/glue, don't know for a fact but I'm guessing the 5.0 badges will be the same. You can use a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive/glue that holds the badges on to the car. The heat will soften the glue making it easier to remove the emblems. I'm also trying to decide between the GT Base and Premium trim levels, I'm not big on leather seats. The sound system I want isn't available with the base model.
  3. GM is like a modern day WPA project from the depression era. Seriously though, I believe GM will turn this around.
  4. I'm thinking about fagging-out by getting an automatic Mustang GT. I've seen the '11order guide but it doesn't say anything about optional gearing for the auto. It appears 3.31's are the only gears for the auto. Does anyone know if this is fact? Thanks.
  5. Very cool, thanks for the link. Normally Popular Hot Rodding is very pro-Chevy so I found this quote very funny; "It was clear from the moment we arrived that the 2010 Camaro SS was right in the crosshairs of Ford’s non-Federal-bailed-out gunsights. And while many of us U.S. taxpayers were secretly rooting for the government-subsidized Camaro, the well-represented Mexican press contingent had no such predilection".
  6. I'm with you 100% on the Transformers Camaro, said the same thing to my wife when we saw one at the new car show. Maybe a purple "Barney the Dinosaur" addition is next. I don't think the Camaro looks bad until you see the interior and I never liked the Challenger much until I saw an SRT8 painted B5 Blue. IMHO it looks bad ass in B5 blue. My only problem with the 2010 Mustang is the rear end but it's growing on me. If the Callenger wasn't so overweight I wouldn't mind having one.
  7. Sorry, no idea Nasser was a touchy subject with you. With the subject of this thread bringing up the past to understand the present seemed reasonable. I will now drive a Cobalt for a week as punishment.
  8. Not trying to say Ford purposely produced "ringers". My point is if the vehicles tested have hand assembled engines it's reasonable to expect mass produced engines might not make the same power. I'm looking forward to the testing of an actual production model to prove my shadow of a doubt wrong. Not really doubt but verification.
  9. I agree, I'm not putting it all on him. What I'm saying is the mismanagement started with Nasser. The turn around didn't seem to start until Mulally.
  10. IMHO "Jac the Knife" derailed Ford from the successful path it was on. It has taken some time and Alan Mulally for the recovery but it's happening.
  11. This time I'm going to "fag out" and get my first ever auto trans Mustang, may even look at the V-6. A few years ago I would have told someone to shoot me for even thinking about an auto V-8 Mustang let alone a V-6.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong but the cars being tested are not production models. Not to be negative but I won't believe anything until an actual production model is run on the dyno and run at a track.
  13. Will piston slap still come standard with the addition of VVT?
  14. When ordering my 2002 F-150 I wanted the Sport package because it came with painted bumpers/grill/mirror caps. I did not like the chrome on the regular XLT. A guy I work with had an XLT Sport and talked me out of the Sport package, the painted front bumper of his did the same as yours. My salesman told me about a no cost package for the F-150 that gave me the painted grill, mirror caps and the chrome bumper. I do not like the chrome grill on the current F250's. Earlier in 2009 I priced out an FX4 vs a similarly equipped XLT, the FX4 had everything I wanted/needed at a better price and looked better IMHO.
  15. Chinese owning GM? Maybe I'm crazy but my concern is the Chinese some day owning America.
  16. I vote for hemisbc. Remember this classic post; DEARBORN, MI (AP): At a surprisingly candid Sunday afternoon press conference Ford Motor Co. Chairman and CEO William Clay Ford, Jr. announced his resignation. "After being born and raised a Ford, with my family's name on millions of cars sold in every corner of the globe, after doing everything that I can to learn this business, to treat employees, suppliers, and customers like extended members of the Ford family, I have found someone that I can trust this company to." Ford then elaborated on his plan of transferring the dual roles of chairman and CEO to a relative newcomer to the industry. "I have complete confidence that the troll known as 'hemisbc' on the Blue Oval News bulletin board has the talent, the knowledge, and above all else, the people skills to run this company." Ford, though fallen on difficult times lately remains one of the largest employers in the nation, and with revenue in excess of $140 billion last year, one of the largest companies in the world. Analysts were quick to laud Ford's move. "I've read 'hemi's' stuff, and I agree with it one hundred percent, most of the time," said Forbes automotive columnist Jerry Flint. "There's no question about it, hemisbc's unending criticism of Ford products has shown us the way," said Thomas Spader, chief industrial analyst at Morgenstern, Philips, and Kleiner, a Wall Street investment bank which holds a "toss overboard" rating on Ford's stock. When finally reached for comment at his small unplumbed farm house outside Texarkana, hemisbc had this to say, "Ford has a lot of purchasing power. We are going to start buying Chrysler 300s and putting Ford badges on them." When asked about Ford's current platforms, and upcoming designs, sbc had this to say, "Well, we're going to give all of this technology to the French government. We're just going to deed it over to them. I hate the French and I hate Ford's current products, their past products, and all their future products. Since I hate Ford and I hate the French, I think they deserve each other." The French ambassador in Washington refused to comment. Peugeot PSA expressed interest in Ford's franchised dealerships, but only off the record. When asked why he was turning over his company to someone so opposed to its products, Ford said, "Well obviously we can't do anything right. Hemisbc has pointed that out on the Blue Oval boards hundreds of times. Since he has such a firm grasp on all our mistakes, who better to trust the company to? Besides the man obviously knows what he's talking about." Others are not so sure. Fellow contributors to the Blue Oval forum have noted several inconsistencies, contradictions, and outright distortions in his posts. Responding to allegations that his posts are frequently inaccurate, or that they fail to include important facts, hemisbc replied, "That sounds like a bunch of liberal Democrat welfare wagon driving elitist hogwash." As it stands today, you can expect to walk into your local Ford dealership soon, and hear a positive response when you say, "That thing got a hemi in it?"
  17. Has the FX4 package on the SuperDuty been discontinued for 2010? There is no mention of it at the Ford site. Thanks.
  18. But........I was told Ford sucked, the Fusion sucked, it was ugly, nobody was buying them, sales had no legs and the only thing Ford did right was the CV and GM.
  19. The car isn't the scary part. The scary part is........who ever did this just might produce offspring.
  20. You better be right ...........BITCH! :shades:
  21. I hear Ford is planning to enlist the help of the folks from "Operation Repo". "It ain't no joke if you don't bring us the recall note".
  22. Why? All manufacturers have recalls. They did this fix to my 2002 F-150 a few years back and I have purchased 2 new Fords since with a 3rd possibly in the works. It was a quick fix they did on the spot. I know many other F-150 owners that didn't think twice about this recall.
