  1. the dealership right near me can't keep the Focus's in stock ....currently there are two....two weeks ago there was 13
  2. that IP is from the bmw 3 series....i hate that MPG section..its pointless because it moves up and down according to basically everything the driver does....which makes no sense because you can see your avg. mpg through the info screen in the middle. Maybe its just me but i don't see the point?
  3. here in the NE part of PA owners of diesel vehicles are getting royally kicked in the ass by the cost...its currently at $3.95/ gallon!!!!! while reg. is $3.20-$3.24 range....that is a significant difference if you ask me! ....i don't have time to do the math but comparing say the 5.4L in a F-250 to the 6.4L or i guess the 7.3 in one wouldn't the diesel owner be in the whole more then the gasser?? idk ...it has ALWAYS been wayyy more expensive here for diesel that i don't know why i see so many of them other then longer life and for towing. but i'm saying that HERE ...not everywhere ...
  4. IMO I would go for the X. I've driven both myself and my neighbor has an AWD Edge. I really like the Edge but here in the town I live in there all I see. That kinda takes the fun out of owning a vehicle for me. I like to have something that you typically don't see on the streets all the time especially if your looking at spending $30-$40K on one. For that reason i would go with the Lincoln as i've only seen two here and one was the one that i drove. It was the Monochromatic pack. in all black. It looked really nice but no way in hell I would wanna keep something like that for long here....too many dings and stuff to ruin the finish. I love that lightbar out back and like the overall differences compared to the edge better. In terms of how the two compared ...well the Edge was your basic AWD model and like i said before the Lincoln was the mono. pack. so aside from the obvious visual differences the Edge drove a little smoother with the smaller rubber but had more wind noise coming from the mirrors and the road. Good Luck with your decision though !!!!
  5. Good Post...and very true. My neighbor runs a transportation company that has three 25 or 26 pass. luxury busses, two 15 pass. E-350s one of which is an 08 which they just got, and then they have a couple Grand Caravans/T&Cs and a Crown Vic . I pick up her kids from school and on occasion have taken the 15 pass. van to pick them and their friends up and your right when you say that when you turn the van too fast it is just NOT good. Here you don't need the B class or whatever license though so anyone can drive them. To be honest, to me they drive like a Super Duty with a long bed (not a new one of course!) ....i like driving it but would never want to fill it up every week!
  6. unfortunatly that means nothing. That could have happened to ANY car. It's called a "fluke". Just about all of my family has some kind of Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicle and most have had flukes or defects within the first year. It doesn't make the car cheap or a piece of shit....sometimes the bugs need to be worked out of em. Both wiper motors and the transaxle shift interlock (thats what they called it??) went on my parents Windstar at 169 miles! They still have the van 5 years later with 66,000 miles and still love it even with the trouble they've had with it. I could name so many times that Bugs have popped up on various different cars whether it be a $14,000 hyundai or a $50,000 Mercedes.
  7. I saw my first one today...it was a fully loaded one (LTZ???) in that bronze color with the chrome wheels and WOAH they are really really nice cars. FAR better than the previous gen model and extremely impressive for a Chevy.
  8. IMO i think there is another underlying Honda/Acura issue: people buying fully loaded Accords often cross shop and also look at the TSX and TL at the same time. They then are turned off by the TL's horribly rough ride (esp. with the summer tires) and the TSX's poor gas mileage compared to its size. They realize that its a much smarter idea to get an Accord over any Acura and save the money, still get the performance, and get basically the same or nicer interior than what is in the TL and TSX. I know two people that did just that and another who WISHES that they got an Accord after having an 04 TL for these past 3 years on the ride alone. That and the fact that their is a HONDA decal or whatever on all the side windows of her TL that she paid $36,000 for. I don't think i've seen that on any other car company before. (its the little things that count these days...thats why America is so messed up nowadays!) and what the hell are Mustang window stickers doing on here???? I don't even have those anywhere on my computer! 1ZVFT82H165147178.pdf 1ZVFT82H365160689.pdf 1zvft85h465137692.pdf 1zvht85h365160924.pdf
  9. Usually, most rentals are shit. They always have the most basic and i mean BASIC models available. My mother slammed her van into a telephone pole at the end of our driveway two weeks ago resulting in over $5,000 worth of damage and a two/three week repair time. She wanted a Maxima but got stuck with a Saturn Aura. Even though it is a really nice car for a saturn the interior is just plain crap...eveything is cheap hollow plastic. It DOES have over 30,000 miles on it, but still, it hasn't held up well at all. I agree with you 100% on the Avenger, there was a silver one there that we looked at and it was ....BLAH to say the least. :boring:
  10. I've been wondering the same thing...it evem took a while for them to put up the 08 Focus ...there were 08s at the local lot oh id say about 6 weeks prior to the update of the website.
  11. I SECOND THAT! ...but look at that wood trim! No small car has that...oooo so luxurious.
  12. Yeah sorry guys, but i'd take that Lexus over the MXS anyday...it does not stand out at all from any of the other cars on the set...maybe it will look better in person though....
  13. my friends mom has an 02 SE sedan with 134,000 miles (stick) and according to her in a mix she gets about 28-33 mpg depending on her job commute. She loves that car to death even though the wheel wells are rusting through and the front hood and bumper paint has completly peeled and chipped off! She really hasn't had to do anything mahor either aside from a water pump and some clutch/ignition work all pretty normal though considering. My uncle has an 04 ZX3 auto with 101,000 miles and he has never had a sinlge problem with it other than recalls. Not sure about how good on gas it is but i really haven't heard of people having problems with them after 02.
  14. 4 x's here at Gibbons Ford (Northeast PA) ...two SEL's two Limiteds all AWD. The one that stands out though is the Limited Merlot with the 18 inch chrome...wow is an understatement!
  15. I saw 4 on a 45 minute jaunt down I-81 ....i was at the dealership the other day too and talked to our salesman and he said people are just trading there 500's in just so they can have the Taurus nameplate again...he said they can't keep them in stock for more than a week!! They are really nice looking cars now ....that front end is :shades:
  16. Nope, she went to one of the local dealerships and found out SOME info on the 08s. She is going to hold out until July and then order one. They only use Fords so they will wait as long as they have to in order to get the 08. She has the 5.4L though not the V10, that was one option she refused to get as its bad enough getting only 12 MPG on the highway!
  17. I have to agree. My neighbor just traded in his 500 for an Edge SE AWD. He let me drive it last night and me being 18 really had no complaints about the brakes other than some slight nose diving when on a decline. I was suprised at how much power there was for such a heavy vehicle too and it handle really nicely on the standard 17 inch wheels. I just hate hate hate the damn "cloth" material auto makers are putting in cars these days...its amazingly cheap, is hard to clean and doesn't hold up well after a few years (04-current Jeep Grand Cherokee comes to mind). Other than that...give me a copper SEL+ with the Vista and Nav and i'll be one happy 18 year old!!!!!
  18. clearly I JUST stated that not EVERYONE can afford to put gas in an econoline and don't need all that extra room...some people are left to a minivan. That is where dodge will come in ...too bad there van is a POS. Ford's loss. The Windstar was honestly a decent van for what it was and Ford should not have abandoned it...The Freestar was just pathetic.
  19. My neighbor uses E-350's for her transporatation business. Does ANYONE know when production will start on the 08's and/or what pricing will be...higher/lower than the 07s??? She needs to replace the one and wants to know whether or not to order an 07 or wait for the 08s...ANY help is appreciated!!! Nick
  20. And families with a disabled child (that is there in a wheelchair) look to Ford and there $1,000 mobility program when it comes time to buy a minivan. Its not just "whiners" who want sliding doors....its disabled families that NEED sliding doors in order to get places and make there lives atleast somewhat normal. Come next year, Ford will lose another customer and has already lost many other disabled family customers who relied on Windstars and Freestars to get them to where they need to go while getting decent MPG. My parents have talked to many families in the community about this and most are unwilling or unable to afford gas in an full size e-series when it gets only 10-12 mpg. But we are just "whiners" so who gives a rats ass...
  21. They really need to work on the Navigator...the refresh that was done simply cannot compare to the new Escalade like the Expy does when compared to the Tahoe/Suburban. It's really sad because the Navy is a nice full size IMO...
  22. Anyone know when you can order one...my neighbor has a 02 with 115,000 miles that she uses for her business and needs a new one ASAP!!!! Any production/build dates/order dates would be GREAT!!!! thanks Nick
  23. I don't know if its just me but the front of that looks really odd without marker lights or fogs in the bumper. They should have done it like the Nitro to fill out the front end...thats just my minor gripe/.02 Overall it looks okay but does the same as the new Escape does for me which isn't much...
  24. Now coming from an 18 year old i know a lot of you guys will dismiss what I say but I think that this is a really different approach at a crossover. It really doesn't look like any other crossover thats out now (minus the freestyle/taurus x)...as some crossovers look like bloated station wagons (Chrysler Pacifica comes to mind and more recently the Acadia and Outlook). This appears to be a lot less chunky and I personally LOVE the profile with the sleekish yet squarish shape and looooong body. I also really love the separate roof color which comes right from the Mini Cooper and is something that should differentiate itself from the others really nicely. As for the interior, I really like what I see from the pictures. The center stack is a really nice touch reminess of Volvo's and the silver trim whether fake or not fits nicely with everything else. The only thing I think needs to be fixed is the wood trim that runs through the top of the gauges....its a small nit picky thing but i think it would look better blacked out to separate the wood from both sides of the dash. Hopefully they'll get the tires/brakes right cuz i'm sure it will be packing on a bit of weight. Otherwise I love it...and i'm not even the type of person Ford is hoping this vehicles will attract! I cannot wait to see it next year!
