  1. What concerns me is that all of these regulations are headding down the path of CO2 regulations, flowing from that is Europe's ready made carbon trading - if this isn't a haven for scammers then I don't know what is. Ther is so much double counting going on in businesses with Carbon footprinting that Europe looks much beter than it is. I'm all for continued efficiency and only using the minimum anount of crude oil but, God help us all when the sane and practical is thrown out the window for super goals driven by our "Ideological Superiors".
  2. Well that is a very sad state of affairs when, one plant's workers consider their "worth" as more than other plants. Surely, that the opinions of a vocal few and not representative of the collective opinion.
  3. Or maybe more demand as people switch from large capacity diesels? In this instance E85 is being used as a power adder with the biproduct of less emissions and CO2 than a similar sized diesel. Maybe it the way the solution is viewed.............
  4. It sounds like user pays replacement for diesel. If you need to haul heavy loads then be prepared to fill the little E85 tank regularly. If you normally drive your truck light then fuel economy will be excellent.
  5. Unbelievable, the motor companies now have union competing against union.
  6. No welfare = increased desperation, street violence and robberies.
  7. You're living in a country with high fuel taxes and keep looking at the USA in the wrong perspective, fuel prices are much lower in the USA and at a certain level of fuel economy don't even enter the equation. A transit Connect that still scores US22mpg in city running is comparable with the US Focus. Sure the highway fuel economy should be better but I think Ford recognizes that and feels it's not a deal breaker for Transit connect's American buyers. Most Americans are happy if their vehicles can get 30 to 40 US mpg on the highway, forget about quoting unavailable diesels getting much higher economy, the audience here on BON switches off.
  8. That's 22mpg city/25mpg Hwy and in the USA, gasoline costs 46 pence/litre. You must be sick with envy, what ridiculous price are you paying for diesel FJM? Never mind here they are: UK Petrol Prices forSunday 7th Jun 2009 Avg. Min. Max. Unleaded: 101.2p 96.9p 111.9p Diesel: 104.0p 99.9p 116.9p LRP: 106.3p 99.9p 109.9p Super: 107.5p 99.9p 117.9p LPG: 51.9p 43.9p 59.9p I see diesel is two times the price of US petrol FJM, does that mean it has to be two times as economical? I sure would hate to buy those expensive diesels FJM, how much more than a petrol engine are they? I guess the Ford North American executives know what they are doing FJM, we can only hope.
  9. Some of these journalists are real Einsteins.... All of this after Chrysler had been given money to continue and the reality of CH 11 discussed at length.
  10. Never mind, Imagine how the Chevy guys feel about the new Camaro launch being ruined by GM filing bankruptcy. They must be turning BLUE with envy...
  11. I think: He likes using the controls on the steering wheel as opposed to using center pod controls. Most people fiddle with the center pod at lights but prefer to use steering controls on the move..... Dratt, blazerdude20 types quicker than me....
  12. The I-4 Ecoboost and the former 4.2 V6 Essex engine both have similar torque curves, maybe Ford could be looking at replacing the V6 sales and promoting a greener option? There probably is a market but I think they would want to be certain buyers exist for that vehicle.....
  13. Ford needs to keep up the pressure on the government to assist Ford Credit becoming a Bank. That more than anything else will enable Ford to compete with GMAC financing.
  14. The best part is that Ford's dealer numbers are about right now and need no reductions to speak of. What a remarkable piece of good management.
  15. OK, Ford sold just under 156,000 vehicles in May, down from 206,000 in 2008. In June 2008 they sold 167,000 - can they match that figure this year? Keep in mind gas prices were much higher this time last year..... I read on Bloomberg the Annualized sales figures for US vehicles in May was 9.9 million. Hopefully, consumers are starting to spend money again.
  16. +1 timmm55, that's much better than Autoblog's CGI . I think you missed your calling ... B)
  17. Hmm, I'm still happy to be proved wrong and you get your EB V6 in the MKX CD3S is completely different to CD3, it's more like the D3/D4 so maybe it can support V6 Ecoboost and will be kept longer. Heck, it's built in the same Oakville complex.......
  18. I'm lead to believe there are very few stand alone Pontiac dealers if any. Those that don't have a second GM franchise more than likely have a different brand they sell as well.
  19. Today's Impala pales by comparison but I wonder how an Epsilon II Impala would look. Still, the Taurus is here now and in my book, Black is the new Black
  20. This guy has been in the news before with his 80 mpg Mustang - LINK It sounds like Mr. Pelmear has decided to keep his "invention' a secret and cash in..... Sounds like the 100 mpg carburator..
  21. MKX is currently on CD3S, completely different to CD3 sedan platform, both are dead end platforms.
