  1. I just noticed that Heated Cloth seats are std. on all Edges built for Canada now.
  2. If he lives in Detroit he may have -- there have been a few around. Saw one on 275 by 696 about a month ago.
  3. Had the same issue with the hood, was fixed under warrantee -- currently I have rust around the sunroof on the inside lip. Have also had all 4 wheel bearing replaced.
  4. I hope you realize that those European numbers are imperial gallons, and the US are std gallons and are acheived with Diesel engines.
  5. Ford Vehicles with Stability Control have it, the '05 Escape had it (without stability control) but Ford de-contented it in subsequent years.
  6. Like the 3.7L Mazda is putting in the CX-9 for 2008?
  7. Will RSC/ESC be a rolling change when they figure it out -- or will they wait until next model year before they add it to hybrids?
  8. Well heated seats OEM cost is about $70, Rain-sensing windshield wipers are about $40, Headlight washers about $90, and a Heated steering wheel about $50, throw in a heated driver-side door lock for $35 and mirrors are $10. So for about $300 in OEM cost you could add that equipment, and charge $600 to $700 for it. I wouldn’t do it al-a-cart -- this is the weather package this is what you get, keeps the options simple, In Canada, and the northern US it would be very popular especially if they advertised it.
  9. You can get them on a Focus with cloth, and you could get them on the old 01-03 -- F-150 with cloth. I don't understand why they don't offer them with cloth. They need a weather package -- Heated Seats, Heated steering wheel, Heated mirrors, headlight washers, and rain-sensing windshield wipers, charge $700 for it and people that live where its cold would love it.
  10. Actually it is closer to mid 20's -- 23k to 26k depending on options. Chargers are about 3K more.
  11. Are HID optional on the new Taurus? On the first photos shown some had projector style headlamps, indicating an HID option, are they going to be a Job 2 feature? (like Sync) There are only 2 real issue I have with the Taurus. That Advance-trac is still optional (it is std in Canada) If safety is so important -- they should make it std, it is the way the market is going. But Ford will lumber on and then in 3 years make it std. The 3.5L is a PZEV in CA emission states, why not in all states? Pitch how much cleaner the Taurus is than the Avalon and Maxima. Mile for Mile the Taurus Produces 1/2 the Hydro-carbon emission as a Avalon.
  12. I've actually see quite a few of those Peugeot over the past few weeks, Ford Rd in Canton, 275 in Van Buren, and Hix in Westland, Guess they are putting miles on them -- I also saw Toyota Estima Hybrid about a month ago by the Airport, along with a number of LR3 marked with the CDI 2.7 liter engine running around Dearborn.
  13. Mazda will also have a version of D37 they are in development on it, so while they will tune it, the magazines will still say its a Ford engine. I see nothing wrong with sharing engines. Most People by a Lincoln/Lexus/BMW so they get the badge on Hood, nothing else.
  14. That's the American way, America is evil -- American Companies are evil. It is acutally pretty sad.
  15. Cost Toyota some cash, and make some money for this site -- Click on the link The site gets a cut of the moeny that google gets for the paid per click. So google gets money, the site owner gets money -- and it costs toyota some money.
  16. My Neighbor has an extended cab with the 5.5ft bed and loves it, it fits in his garage, tows his camper and has enough room for his home depot and landscaping runs. For people that do construction they do like the 8ft beds, but those are also hard to come by. It seems that dealers don't offer in stock the different bed lengths, I understand small dealers not doing it, but large dealers have 6 1/2ft extended cabs, 5 1/2ft crewcabs and they will have 200 F-150's in stock with those 2 configurations, no Flair sides, no 5 1/2 ft extended cabs, no 6 1/2 ft crew cabs, no 8 ft extended cabs, no 8ft regular. But on the other hand its not like ford advertises it has all these different options for its trucks. I'd bet 70% of the people that buy them for there driveways don't know they can get other lengths.
  17. Anyone know why stability control isn't standard or even available on the hybrid model, is this something that will be fixed during this model year?
  18. Don't forget Hyundai's North American Technical center is in Scio Township.
  19. CN not Conrail, but yes that is a huge problem, Ford as had to suspend production at St Thomas at points during the strike. The railroad union is fighting with itself (there are 2 different factions) along with the company -- its a huge disaster.
  20. Toyota, Nissan, Ford, GM and Hyundai will all go in on a joint bid and pillage the patents and close 95% of it down -- if each company pays 6 billion and gets a 1.5% boost of market share when DCX is gone it is well worth it for each. In the end everyone would come out in a much stronger position.
  21. What is hurting the Edge more than anything from becoming the sales star it could be is the abysmal braking scores and the negative P.R all over the Internet and print because of it, go look at Edmunds and other message boards, so many people are taking it off their shopping list just because of the long braking numbers. Ford needs to rectify this A.S.A.P. There is no reason that a new brake system should not be in production by April, there is an issue with it. And the Ad's suck too -- THEY DON'T TELL YOU ANYTHING ABOUT THE CAR. They need to work the features into the ads like Mercury does.
  22. The same could be said for DCX which is a German company, and has been from 1998. This is becoming clear to more people as of today. Ford and GM are the 2 only American car companies.
  23. You must mean for hourly people? Salary people can still get A-plan on Volvo's, Land Rovers, Jaguars, and S-plan on Mazda's, thought sometimes vehicles are excluded when they first come out. You usually get the best deal with OSD on a Volvo, get the car cheaper and the trip usually works out almost free as well.
