  1. I had a Sho like the one on sale.(without the body kit of course) To those who don't believe, yes it had a V8. The eight was very rare. It was also smaller than the new Duratech v-6! It had no problem fitting in the engine bay. It was fast for it's time, but would suck down gas if you pushed it. It was my favorite car, and I regretted not buying it when my lease was over... untill I got my Mustang. It was a nice car for it's day, but there are much better used cars you can get for $18,000. The v-8 has the bad rap of camshaft problems. I'd leave the car alone and let someone else buy it.
  2. I don't know if anyone else tried this and I'm not going to read 17 pages to find out, but I went to the Lincoln website and clicked almost every option including AWD and the THX and only got a $46,000 price. This is the car's biggest advantage. On the bad side I still think this car is underwhelming. I hope it looks better in person anyway. At least it looks a lot better than that dull concept car. (I don't know how they pulled that off, because all the body panels look the same).
  3. The Mustang is still a much better looking car. But at least Hyundai is putting a solid product in that field unlike Toyota.
  4. Actually they look like the 50 mile spare tires. It's hard to really see the car, but it does seem to have the shape of the show car (even with 4 doors).
  5. I was just going to say something like this. Alpha would make a good replacement for Kappa. From a volume standpoint it would be a good idea to make the sedans and small sports cars off one platform.
  6. Oh my God! You noticed that too! Prius drivers annoy the crap out of me too!
  7. We've all heard of the game 6 degrees from Kevin Bacon... Well it seems the MKS is the Kevin Bacon in this forum. You're never further than 6 posts from the MKS.
  8. I didn't read all the posts yest, so I don't know if anyone said this, but it looks a little Mondeoish. I love this new 6!
  9. I believe the limo market will change to SUVs. The day of the car limo is coming to an end.
  10. Now that's amazing to me. After the first gas spike last year, the v-6 models are hard to find and the v-8s are common at the Massachusetts dealers. (Herb Chambers and Quirk Ford). If you want a v-8, shop here.
  11. Oh, I was kind of hoping there were pictures of cars with these colors.
  12. Hmmm you seem to make too many assumptions... Interesting Have you been this way since childhood? Are you saying it's alright to be a whack job as long as it's enviromentally responsible? Is it really ok. to do it just for the P.R.? Being a Democrat, I do support the enviroment. I don't support harming the livelyhoods of people to do it. Things like this bother me: http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/09/20/business/pollute.php Do the people who propose this think this will make all the internal combustion engine disappear overnight? http://www.heartland.org/Article.cfm?artId=907 http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...8/BA6ARQFFM.DTL http://cms.firehouse.com/web/online/Arson-...n-/2$17639 I do want to see automakers make cleaner cars, but raising the standard too high too fast may bankrupt the American auto industry. So much more could be done by using tax breaks to encourage enviromentally responsible behavior. Instead of the usual make this happen or die tactics why not try to encourage industries to come tho California or anywhere to develop enviromentally friendly industries and employ people in a responsible manner?!! It seems like it takes less effort to complain and attack which it seems those in power like to do. And it seems to happen more often in CA (and in my own state of MA). Now respond and then enough of hijacking this thread.
  13. California has all the movie stars who push all this crap on everyone. They want us all to drive Prius hybrids, yet they fly on private jets! They have San Fran, LA, Arnold as a gov. They are different than most. You mean to tell me whenever some dopey political idea comes up like CAFE, you don't notice it ususally starts in California? No, it's true that not everyone thinks that way, but you have a mush higher percentage of people who do. Massachusetts, my home state is the same way! How can Ted Kennedy be re-elected so many times? The only other state he could flourish is CA! Ma has most of the nutty stuff as CA. We just dont have all the "stars" to make things worse.
  14. The problem is that even if the entire nation adopts California standards, California will just make a new standard so they can still feel superior to everyone else.
  15. Looks nice, but why is it in front of GM's building?
  16. Holy Shit! That's a picture of my old car in your post! Both my Mustang and my Sable ended up in other people's posts from this computer glitch!
  17. I did it myself just under 7 without flogging the car to do it. The day I bought the car, i was only getting the oil changed on my Sable and the salesman asked me if I wanted to drive one. There were only v6's on the lot and I was disappointed there were no v-8's. The sales man said the 6's were plenty fast. I didn't believe him, but I took it out anyway. Long story short, it took me 300 yards before I decided I'd take it home that day! I NEVER bought a car that fast before! The Mustang has that kind of magic to it. I never regretted the purchace. (edit to thank) Thanks 2005 Explorer!
  18. Oh c'mon. I didn't buy one to drag race ricers or run nascar or F1. I even bought a 6 cyl. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, it gets decent milage, only cost around 22 grand and it looks like this.
  19. The CTS is going to be a kick ass car. I liked the old one, and this looks like a huge step forward for them. I am a Ford person, but I wish GM well with this. It is a solid effort, and I hope to see more like this from them.
  20. Is the next Chrysler Pacifica going to be based on that? It looks a little like one now, butched up for Dodge of course.
  21. It could have came here from Mexico.
  22. Every time someone saw my 99 Sable, they always said they were surprised at how nice it was. They were expecting something terrible because of all the bad press it got. When I traded it in 2005 for a Mustang, the Sable had 80,000 miles and still looked like a new car. The 24 valve v-6 had a nice kick to it. On hot sunny days the new car smell even came back! No squeaks, rattles or repairs or headaches from that car.
