  1. Judging from the sales data... That Flex was probably followed by 20 Edges.
  2. Judging from the sales data... That Flex was probably followed by 20 Edges.
  3. The biker would be in better shape and as a result, be more attractive. Hell, those bikers are lazy fat asses next to me. I'm a runner. ...Yes, that is a joke, so don't get pissy if any of you ride a bike.
  4. I have always bought Ford for the past 30 years. I am the only Democrat in a family of Republicans who blast unions and who support corporations actions when they cut pay and benefits by saying it's a global market , "and if you can't compete..." I have had so many fights with them about this. If Everyone in this country is reduced to making minimum wage, how are the rich going to make money if no one can afford their products. I was so proud that Ford did not take the bailout money. But now it seems that GM will win by doing the wrong thing, but that argument is for another time. To the UAW who I defended tirelessly... I work for a major retailer of electronics in the warehouse.(I'm sure you can guess who as they are the only one left). I make 13.27 an hour. I have a fraction of the benefits you have and they now took away most of the employee discount. (which didn't do me any good as I can't afford that stuff anyway. I despise that job and I would love to have a union represent me. During holiday seasons, I work until the skin peels off my hands. I have had stress fractures on my arms and worked with them. My department constantly gets cut, so I do the work of 5 people minimum. I hate my job with a passion! I am there because the places I worked before (small businesses) had to close the doors because they "can't compete" My employer can fire you at will and never needs to give you an excuse. It's what you get with "at will employment". One benefit you don't have to worry about. Yes, I could quit, but as you all may find out, most jobs are like this and not like yours. Despite that, I do the best job I can do. I treat my "menial" job with the same care as you would want a doctor caring for your mother or the same care an airline pilot operates the airplane your family is on. If I am there, I will do the best work I can possibly do. If I am doing a job, I am going to treat it as the most important job in the world. I am trying to sell my sitcom and spent my life savings on it because that is a job I feel passionate about and want to do for the rest of my life. (it's on my face book link.) That job would also get me union representation (SAG and WGA) But I treat my work in both these jobs the same. I work to a goal of excellence. I would never treat my job like the Focus is being built and I wouldn't think of striking against my employer if they were offering me a better pay then the other stores and better benefits. If the auto workers of Ford strike, then I regard it as a slap in my face and I will never support you again! Your actions make you who you are! If you don't like to build cars, then move on and take another job. Hell, I'll trade with you! If you choose to strike, then maybe a Honda will be parked in my driveway next time! ( or maybe a Mexican or Canadian built Ford). Worst of all, you will only reward GM for doing the wrong and immoral thing! Pioneer, you did the right thing. You may not like the situation, but like me, I think you want to do your best. I wish you good luck.
  5. So if China ever chooses to kick out a foreign company, they will have the factory they built, the technology, car platforms and an established brand with a dealer network.
  6. I think they'll pick the Hyundai Elantra and Land Rover Evoque. I pick Focus (yes I'm biased) for the tech edge and Evoque because I think it offers something this market hast seen before. (Although I think in the long run its sales will tank after a good start.) on the truck side... Saab 9-4 will never get it because Saab is doomed. Nissan and Honda's offerings don't really set the bar any higher. Car side... The 300 could set a new record by getting it again. Camry also could be picked. A7 would be a great choice. No chance in hell would be Sonic, Accent and Verano (although I do like the Verano).
  7. I am so sick of hearing of Nurburgring! It's like that is the only test of the car's worth. What's next a Nurburgring rating on the window sticker? I don't think I'll ever take my car there, so that is useless to me. It would be better to develop a more real world track to see how fast you can go on a track of never ending pot holes, people texting and talking on cell phones, Prius drivers who clog the fast lane and drift from lane to lane. And you would have points deducted every time your super sized drink spills on your cup holder. F Nurburgring!
  8. That would be better than doing something silly like putting a Maserati grille on it and giving it a name like "Kubang" Hahaha... oh, wait...
  9. They would be dancing in the streets if they sold 2500 MKS cars a month. They are just selling a speck over 1,000 a month now.
  10. But the odd thin is that the same things can be said about the Flex, but all the mags seem to like that one and nobody is buying it. It is the opposite situation of the Explorer.
  11. ...And the Fords laughed until they passed out. I would have recorded Mr. Wagoner asking the question and used it as a ring tone.
  12. Every time one of these threads that has a new view of the Fusion appears, I get hopeful. Then I click on the link and I see yet another picture of a pile of trash bags on wheels. I want to see this car without the trash bags. This is a little like being a kid and seeing a wrapped Christmas present wondering what's inside.
  13. Isn't the next generation Camaro convertible based off this platform?... I think you will see a convertible ATS at some point. I know the picture isn't very detailed, but I think the sedan looks like a very dull CTS. Maybe the sedan won't meet the target numbers either. That sedan needs knockout looks.
  14. So you know Enfield CT?... Check out the facebook link below and tell me if that building looks familiar.
  15. It's good as long as they don't forget they need to get Americans to buy Lincolns again!
  16. Yeah... My Mustang was hit in the rear last year and it got some trivial damage... Oh yeah... Nice pics. The auto mags must have been sleeping I'm glad you caught this. I'd love to catch one of these test cars one day, but I don't live near Detroit.
  17. oops. I know it's Alfa. A script I was reading used the word Alpha (it was a script about gene therapy that had an Alpha and Beta gene) a billion times and I am always writing it that way now. (I almost did it again in the first sentence.)
  18. I always thought their plan is to see how customers react to Alpha and Fiat. If it is good, then they will pull a "Renault/Amc" maneuver where the number of Chrysler models gets smaller and Alpha gets larger until Chrysler models hit zero. This is what Renault did to AMC.
  19. Wow, this sounds a lot like, "Ford can't abandon RWD", or "Ford can't make a car based Explorer. " Looks like every company has to make tough choices which may anger some fans.
  20. The Maserati leaked?!! Good thing it wasn't parked in my driveway! On a serious note, I looked at the link and I have to say I don't like it at all. Maserati makes sexy cars and that thing doesn't cut it (looks wise).
  21. While it doesn't get my pulse racing, I don't think it is ugly. It is a Cruize with a touch of class. I like the interior the most. I don't think it has the visual pop of the other Buicks of late. I don't know if I would spot it easy in traffic . Too much vanilla could be a problem for GM.
  22. I just remember that in 2008, when the Escape was updated, so many said that they did so little with the exterior styling, that it was doomed to failure! Also the Fusion, a car equally important to Ford and is currently a smash success, is being changed. Why does everyone assume the new style will be a huge hit despite no one outside of Ford has ever viewed it? Couldn't it be argued that at least a part of the Fusion's success may be its styling? No one here seems concerned about that. As far as capabilities, people worried about the Escape's possible loss of off road ability, don't seem concerned about the possibility of the Fusion being 4 cyl models only. Most will say this is apples to oranges, but I think Ford is keenly aware of why people like the cars and CUVs they drive (I don't consider the Escape an SUV), and I think they will try to keep the best features. They style has to change at some point like it or not. I am also worried about the possibility of people rejecting the new look like 2005 Escape, (I'm also worried about Fusion and Lincolns) but I'm willing to go on a leap of faith seeing some of the current hits Ford has.
  23. I would to ate to see that version hit 40k, but if it does, at least it will be a midsize and not a compact like GM's Volt.
  24. We should be worried about how many bought the competition because they couldn't find a Focus on the lot.
  25. Everyone has a right to their opinion and if they don't like something, they should be honest and just say so. If this is what they truly feel, then their courage for saying it should be honored. ...But does anyone else notice that Motor Trend's opinions on Fords are the polar opposite and 180 degrees away from everyone else's opinions. To me it seems that because Ford is viewed as a well run company by almost every single publication, Motor Trend feels the need to be the James dean rebel and trash Ford to be the different bad assed publication. The only car they seem to like is the Mustang. Almost every other test has a poor showing by the same Ford models that test well everywhere else.
