  1. Lose some of the height on the hood from the Verve (Tall due to ped-reqs) and it's even more Reflex like (Moreso if it gets a little longer due to US crash reqs)
  2. Like this? Am I the only one who sees a red reflex hatch?
  3. A Mercury sale is a sale for the Ford motor company. You cannot assume that a Mercury buyer is also a Ford buyer. Someone who buys a Mariner instead of an Escape may just as likely have bought a RAV4 if the Mariner did not exist. There are people who will not own Fords but find Mercury's acceptable, be it for brand loyalty, dealership experience, styling, or otherwise.
  4. New CAFE Info Currently the Crown Vic is considered an "Import" and therefore does not affect Ford's CAFE the same as if it was a "Domestic"
  5. I don't see how Ford is letting Mazda have the 3.7. Would you rather have a 3.0 Fusion (Even with PIP), or a 3.7 Mazda6? Would you rather have a CX-9 w/ 3.7 or a FLEX with the 3.5? You know there will be comparissions and it will not be done in such a way to reflect positively on Ford (It's the nature of the press)...
  6. There's a video on the net somewhere of the new beetle's pop-ups in action (my wife has one). The PT convertible has a light bar for looks only (Though I am sure many buyers assumed they were structural. I would be surprised if a real roll bar is not heaver than the popups as used in the NB.
  7. Huh. When my brother's car rolled he was going 35 in a straight line. The car that hit him was going upwords of 70 and was racing someone else.
  8. Heck, the VW New Beetle Convertible has an active rollover system.
  9. Would be interesting to see the KA in the US. Could you imagine them selling the KA and Kuga in Boston? What is that? It's the new Ford KA I know it's a Car, but what's the name? Ford KA, it's the Ford KA! Huh, my sister just got a new Ford Kuga. The Cougar! Ford reissued the Cougar!?!? etc. etc. As much as I dislike numbers, at least they're better than some names.
  10. Tribute YTD 4,646 Mariner YTD 19,678 Escape YTD 92,205
  11. Ford could do well with a "Youth" "sub-brand" ala Scion for their B/C-cars. (If Ford were to do such a thing, could they force Dealers to meet certain standards in order to sell them?) I'll take a Reflex please.
  12. The Flex - Country Squire The Flexie-Truckster
  13. Do people buy Dodge and Chrysler products at retail? Ok, vans maybe, but the sebring, really?
  14. I believe someone over at escape-central.com has towed with their FEH, you might try posting your question over there.
  15. Didn't Gore have a Prius and get rid of it to get a Mariner? What are the odds this was Gore'd Prius? Not that it really matters though.
  16. At the very least Ford could do more to differentiate the hybrid model. A year ago there were reports that Ford was going to do this to the 08 Escape hybrid, but alas it doesn't look any more different than the 05-07 model did.
  17. Looks like the 08 Fukus. It's odd how this (God-aweful, hope it's not accurate) rendering is nearly universally praised whereas the Focus is nearly universally panned.
  18. I've seen 3 so far as well, one still with all it's plastic wrap on (all three were on the road on seperate occasions. The other day I counted 8 different Edges, and I am seeing a TON of the 08 Escape as well.
  19. If Ford sells all of PAG could it buy the rest of Mazda and shutter/replace Mercury? A Ford that is only Ford and Lincoln/Mazda could have some potential. Especially if Lincoln were to become what many would like to see for Mecury (FOE vehicles)
  20. New system in the Escape? In the current platform? unlikely - the Fusion Hybrid will be Ford's "next generation" system and is supposed to be adaptable to more vehicles. When the Escape gets shifted to a new platform it may see some version of this next gen system.
  21. You do know that the Sport-trac is no longer based on the old Explorer platform, and that there was no late 80s era Explorer, right? My understanding was that the factory at which the Ranger is currently built could not accomodate the extra length of the 4-door, but that may not be accurate. Who knows if we'll even have a ranger at all shortly.
  22. Saw a sebring convertible (soft top) the other day for the first time. MAN! They managed to make an incredibly ugly vehicle look even worse!
  23. Nah, it's ok. It's really a mule for the next iteration of the Panther platform.
  24. Isn't the Durangpen supposed to be their first hybrid?
