  1. Losing the tax rebate likely hurt. Love my Lightning, but my Mach-E was the best Ford I’ve owned.
  2. Haven’t they said the were prioritizing the hybrid for the PIU?
  3. You must not spend much time on the multiple Maverick forums or Facebook groups. Lots of passionate fans of the Maverick. Were very happy with my wife’s Mav.
  4. The Maverick is longer than the BS. I don’t think you can offer a Maverick SUV AND the BS. They’re too similar, and the Mav being bigger would cannibalize BS sales. In my opinion it’s not “Bronco” enough to justify additional cost, and even if the interior is nicer, Americans equate size to value, so they’re not going to pay more for a BS than a Maverick SUV.
  5. And then when they launched the all new CD4 model in 2015 they kept MFT as sync 3 wasn’t ready yet, and then they switched for the 2016 model. Our 2015 is MFT and I’m tempted to swap it out to a sync 3 system so my son has carplay.
  6. The 24 also has a heat pump for heat, so it’s not like it’s a straight carry over.
  7. Need sunglasses out of my wife’s car? Keypad. It comes in handy. It’s even more important with phone as key. I’ve not used the fob, except for service, since the day I brought my Lightning home (and same for my Mach-E prior). The keypad gives me confidence that if my phone dies, breaks, or is stolen/lost I can still drive home.
  8. Fords been removing it lately, which is a shame. All four of my cars have it. It’s one of those little things that make a Ford a Ford. https://fordauthority.com/2023/09/2024-ford-escape-drops-securicode-keyless-entry-keypad/#:~:text=Ford's SecuriCode keyless entry keypad, those that purchase the latter
  9. There are a couple of people swapping them from the Escape to Maverick on the forums.
  10. Parked next to a Silverado EV at a charger on Saturday. Not as bad looking in person as I thought.
  11. Not a fan of the styling of the new Camry. New Prius is shockingly good looking. Imagine if it were a BEV.
  12. Did you see the video Farley posted of the Lightning taking on the course the CT had trouble with?
  13. And a traditional SUV. And a van. And could let Rivian focus on commercial business.
  14. My wife’s ‘23 Maverick finally arrived! Took thirteen months. We’re keeping her Edge (I think - we’ll keep the Edge or the 2010 Flex, TBD - Edge needs some work) for our son, who just started drivers ed, so our fleet is now red (Lightning), white (Edge), and Blue (Maverick) representing Fords North American production, Dearborn (Lightning), Ontario (Edge _and Flex]), and Hermosillo (Maverick). It’s my ninth Ford, and fifth from my salesman. It’s a very dark blue, and has a lot of fun features. We did not get the hybrid because we wanted the 4K towing package.
  15. Sure it would, for some. My Lightning has about 50 miles more range than my Mach-E did. Our summer home round trip falls just between. On the MME I couldn’t make it without charging (and at the time there was a single 50kW [DCFS, but slow] on route). The Lightning easily makes it (if I don’t do a lot of side trips). That’s priceless. People will pay $14k to get carbon fiber wheels on a Dark Horse for cripes sake. It’s not like the Rivian is a $20k Civic, it’s a $90-100k truck/SUV.
  16. I put over 17k miles on my Lightning in its first year, have a 60 mile round trip commute, travel 300 miles rt every other weekend in the summer. Did four 500 mile rt trips so far. My truck charges at my garage, and I use EA when I need to fast charge.
  17. I practically never charged my Mach-E at home, and have never charged my Lightning at home in over a year of ownership.
  18. I have to assume that, even if the Escape had continued, a hybrid version of the BS is inevitable. It’s certainly easier to create a hybrid BS than an SUV Maverick. I don’t know how you’d differentiate the BS from a Maverick SUV, and don’t think the Mav would necessarily be more “upscale”.
  19. The garage I charge at has three Mach-E that charge there now regularly (would be four if I hadn’t gotten my Lightning). The only thing I see more of (at the garage) is Teslas. I’m seeing more Mach-E at Electrify America chargers too, but it’s still not common. (See more KIA there than anything as our local Enterprise has them and charges there.). When I was in Anaheim last month every other commercial seemed to be for a Mach-E lease deal.
