Escape, Edge, TC to be Killed
sullynd replied to ANTAUS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I have to assume that, even if the Escape had continued, a hybrid version of the BS is inevitable. It’s certainly easier to create a hybrid BS than an SUV Maverick. I don’t know how you’d differentiate the BS from a Maverick SUV, and don’t think the Mav would necessarily be more “upscale”. -

You just invented the Bronco Sport. -
Ford August 2023 Sales Results
sullynd replied to rmc523's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
The garage I charge at has three Mach-E that charge there now regularly (would be four if I hadn’t gotten my Lightning). The only thing I see more of (at the garage) is Teslas. I’m seeing more Mach-E at Electrify America chargers too, but it’s still not common. (See more KIA there than anything as our local Enterprise has them and charges there.). When I was in Anaheim last month every other commercial seemed to be for a Mach-E lease deal. -

Move Maverick and Bronco Sport to Louisville and BEV(s) to Hermosillo? -
North American Edge to be replaced by EV
sullynd replied to silvrsvt's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I bet they’re being too literal - as someone who went from and Edge to a Mach-E, I could see them arguing it is the replacement, even if not an exact one. -

I wonder how likely it is new vinyl will match old vinyl, and how long 3M will produce matching vinyl. -

The price is pretty reasonable too - I’ve seen people spend that much on just a wrap without all the other unique features. -

Is the wrap intended to be permanent? I wonder if panels are wrapped prior to installation. Curious how collision repair will be handled. -
I think this LC and previous LC target different demographics. This one to me is a 4Runner by another name.
-
I read someone say it looks like it’s made of legos, and it kind of does.
-
Have you heard of the Ford Bronco? (I do wish they had a fixed top Bronco). Does this replace 4Runner?
-
Yes, my experience is the exception rather than yours. You know, seeing as how I actually regularly charge a BEV and all. Clearly you have a more scientific point of view.
-
I’ve owned an EV for over two years and the vast majority of my charging has NOT been in a big city.
-
I’m still supposed to get a 23, but Ford wants me to order a 24 just in case.

All EVs have onboard chargers. The onboard charger is used for all AC charging. -

Rivian has been building out an exclusive charging network (using a standard CCS plug) but has announced they will be opening it to others. There is a legitimate safety concern while charging as there is no way to drive away while plugged in. Someone recently came out with an adapter for Teslas that allows them to breakaway. -
Ford Adding AM Radio Back Into Vehicle
sullynd replied to ANTAUS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Some. My Lightning has the best AM reception of any vehicle I’ve owned. I get zero interference. My Mach-E had good AM reception. It would occasionally get interference, but mainly when trying to pull in weak signals, and I still used it a lot. Some EVs have significant interference, not all, and I suspect it’s an engineering exercise that was just overlooked in those cases. -

Doesn't Ford have a patent on it? That’s my understanding.
