  1. Man... toyota wanted to be number one at everything.. first the US market then the world for sales. Now they are going to eclipes the number of recalled vehicles. Have they topped the Explorer/Firestone or the cruise control recalls yet...
  2. No... they are right about as often as the weather man is... no one actually expects them to be right....
  3. Finally... maybe I can finish the program i've been working on... this on again off again crap is for the birds.....
  4. Wow ... your the first person i've heard that likes the current styling.. I think the GMC is ok but the silverado with its big square fenders, wheelwells and the 3' tall chrome bumper are horrible....
  5. Office Space is my day to day life.... "every day is a little worse than the one before it making it the worst day of my life" "So is today your worst day" "ohh yeah" "Wow that's messed up" .... at least at work
  6. 6 cars worth waiting for (yes it is an annoying slideshow)
  7. If you use the right plastic and design it can take the heat and the pressure... but you can't go cheap on the materials
  8. I always thought nissan was the japanese equivalent to chrysler... I can't believe anyone would put them in the same catagory as honda and toyota...
  9. I like the three bar better... the other grill makes it look like its just a rebadge with a grill that is just a filler to make it look different
  10. I don't know about cars but truck have blow out vents... they are in the back of the cab of my superduty.
  11. First time I have seen anywhere report that the brake didn't work and there were flames under the car....
  12. How many hourly workers does Ford have left ? like 40K? and there is roughly 5 million americans out of work right now (http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm) I think Ford could live without the UAW.... Henry Ford did it with $5 a day, i'm sure we could find the modern equivlent
  13. Its been done before The last time they did that I don't think the sales were too hot. The 7 lug wheels were a great oddity http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/ViewM...ord/model=F-250
  14. I don't like the rear end. need to see more of it to make my final decision
  15. Well I drive mostly expressway but i'm not sure on the milage yet... it is so much smoother than the cavalier I find myself doing 80-85 in it. which even at that speed I was got 29.5mpg. This tank full is the first one where I have been trying to set the cruise at 70 and take it easy... so far acording the trip computer I am on my way to getting over 500 miles from this tankful.
  16. Well my Cavalier finally suffered engine failure at 237K and I needed a car right away to get myself to work. since there were no deals on '10 model cars the goal was to find a '09 with more money on the hood that I could afford. My choices ended up being a Focus SE with cruise, air, SYNC etc. or a Pontiac G6 sedan with the eco 2.4... I took a short test drive in the focus and was a little suprised on how it felt tighter then the cavalier inside. I was also having a hard time with the radio display so far away from the controls. The nail in the coffin was the car had a vibration in the steering wheel that felt like it was connected right to the engine. I was a little dissapointed. The car had been dealer traded and I just had a bad feeling about it. I ended up getting the G6 which ended up being $20 dollars a month cheaper anyways. So far it seems to be pretty solid.... time will tell
  17. Wow .... i know a lot of farmers and truck drivers that all have 4x4 crew cab PSD f350's with manual trans... most of them wouldn't touch a heavy truck with an auto..... I was shocked when I heard that they deleted the option....
  18. and a day later ....they aren't eligible http://money.cnn.com/2009/07/28/autos/clun...sion=2009072811
  19. Well ...thats in Florida.. my cavlier just rolled 235K this morning but being in the rust belt it is being eaten alive. Same story for the tempo's in my family, they all made it to 150K when my dad retired his for rust, then sold the next one in good shape with just over 150K and I rolled mine into a ditch around 150k. I didn't break any glass and it still ran great. I drove for another 20k before I retired it because it was just plain ugly after the rollover and only got around 20mpg.
  20. Congratulations!... :D I'm sure a minivan would be easier but I couldn't talk the wife into one. That and no minivan is rated to tow our camper. And don't loose any sleep over this minivan thing...... you'll be loosing enough in the comming months...LOL!! :tease:
  21. I know your a salesman and all but at the building next to mine there are two f150's, black supercabs one has the 6.5 and one has the 5.5. Unless they dropped the option it was available at some point on regular 150's
  22. its funny.... Henry Ford was forced out by henry Leland and it became cadillac. Then Henry Leland left cadillac and started Lincoln which was bought by Henry Ford who forced Leland out..... I love early automotive history... it seems like everybody was in business with everbody else at one point in history.....
  23. Michigan state police. they have had the big bubble forever.... newer unmarked or "less marked" cars have no outside lights but a million strobes in the front and rear glass
