  1. Simple - you're not driving it like the EPA test cycle. And you're probably not using 100% gas without ethanol. And you're probably using the A/C all the time (auto climate control).
  2. Ford is selling more Fusions than they can build so apparently they know exactly what they're doing.
  3. I agree and don't understand that. Fords seems reluctant to put HIDs on certain vehicles. Not sure if it's a supply thing or if they're putting that money into developing LEDs to replace HIDs or they just think that most people would prefer to buy cheap aftermarket HIDs instead of paying for expensive factory versions.
  4. Try paying attention. I was only referring to the "amazing battery range" that implied Tesla had some unique technology that others don't have. I was merely pointing out that they're using Li-ion batteries like everyone else - they're just using more of them to get the extended range. I'm not dismissing the cars style, design or performance. It's damn sexy and as a standalone vehicle it's really nice. But let's not pretend it's earthshattering technology.
  5. Until the MKC arrives there is no Lincoln counterpart to the Escape.
  6. The SRX was Caddy's best selling vehicle. The MkC will probably do the same for Lincoln.
  7. The updates come from the map provider, not Ford. And they charge about $200. Their data. Their prices.
  8. The Mondeo is closer to the MKZ pricewise so it gets MKZ features.
  9. I think the MKZ launch may be the worst in terms of delays especially with customer orders. Some folks pre-ordered way back in September or earlier and they're just now getting their vehicles. However - even after all of the negativity once they get the vehicles all is forgotten and they're smitten. Provided they don't continue to have quality issues this launch fiasco will be long forgotten in 6 months.
  10. Wagons sell in Europe because they aren't crossover/SUV crazy like the U.S. You can't blame mfrs for what consumers don't want to buy.
  11. I'm not debating that it's a stunning vehicle. But it's not earth shattering technology either.
  12. Ford's computer is usually within 1-2 mpg of actual. It's not guessing about fuel used - it knows exactly how many times each injector was fired and how much fuel was injected with each pulse so it can come pretty darn close.
  13. Dirty air filters have NOTHING to do with fuel economy on modern vehicles.
  14. What is so high-tech and unique about a huge, expensive array of Li-ion battery cells? Quadruple the size of the battery pack in the EV Focus and you'd have the same range for about the same cost. The decision to limit the battery size in most EVs and plug in hybrids is driven by cost, not technology.
  15. I believe that the Hermosillo situation with both the Fusion and MKZ has overwhelmed Ford's system and processes to the point they honestly lost track of some vehicles. Not an excuse - that should never happen. Just a plausible explanation for the lack of info.
  16. They didn't. They do the EPA test with the most common wheel and tire combination.
  17. 80 is a valid priority but only for dealer stock. Retail (sold) orders must have a priority between 10 and 19. Your dealer is hosing you for some reason. If you can't get a straight answer from the dealer call Ford.
  18. I once heard someone say they would never pay MSRP for a vehicle - regardless of the actual price. I said so you wouldn't pay $30K for a car with a MSRP of $30K but if the mfr raised the MSRP to $33K and gave you a $3K rebate you'd be all over it? Blank stare. Same people that only buy based on monthly payments.
  19. Nice! I saw one driving through my neighborhood yesterday and thought it was a 2013 Fusion until it got really close.
  20. Some of those offers are local dealer associations so those will vary by location. Ford also targets specific locations with their rebates. I never expect to get a rebate especially on a new hot vehicle. It's just an added bonus.
  21. That was the biggest issue my wife had giving up her Aviator for an Edge. We just didn't like the MKX styling back in 08 and it wasn't worth $5K just for the cooled seats (back then). I have a feeling though that a MkC would fit the bill nicely as an Edge replacement in a couple of years.
  22. That works better in person when you can see the air quotes...........
